PartyPoker.net Mosconi Cup Vote 30 Oct 2009
With the 2009 PartyPoker.net Mosconi Cup set to take place on from December 10 - 13 at the MGM Grand, for the first time in the 16 year history of the event, Matchroom Sport are allowing the general public to decide who plays as Mosconi Cup Idol gets underway!

There is one spot left on Team USA and that will be decided by public vote. The man who amasses the most support by midnight UK time on Sunday 15th November, will be proudly walking out into the MGM Grand arena to represent his country in pool's fiercest competition.

There are eight worthy candidates to choose from. Five out of the eight have tasted the Mosconi Cup atmosphere before, while the other three may be on for the pool experience of a life time, but whoever it may be, you decide.

Please be aware that the software employed in the voting mechanism precludes multiple voting from email addresses and IPs.

The candidates are the next eight ranked players on the BCA Points List and there can only be one winner, so cast your votes!
Please answer the mandatory question below.
Please choose one nominee and cast your vote today.

Shawn Putnam
Charlie Williams
Charlie Bryant
Stevie Moore

Neither Earl Strickland or Donny Mills are on the list.

As an European I have to say that I am happy that Donny Mills won't play this year.

As a fan of great pool I hope that Stevie Moore will get the last spot, and I will vote for him. Yes, the voting process is open for ALL, no matter where in the world you live.

(At second thought, I might sell my vote) ;)

You almost have to pick Stevie here, but I'm from up north so I'll vote Dennis Hatch and see how y'all like it!

It's definitely unfortunate for team US that Donny isn't on the list :/:confused:

Everyone vote for Stevie. He Deserves a spot. He's worked as hard or harder than anyone in the last 2 years. He's won several Seminole Tour Stops, Derby City Banks, Reno Open 8 ball, and several other regional Tour stops. He also got points for finishing high in EVERY Tournament that counted for the Mosconi Cup including 7th at this years US Open, meaning he was the most consistent player. He also throttled one of the best high stakes gamblers in the country (Chris Bartram) in a huge TAR match.

He is also well like by every one of his peers and fans. I can't think of anyone that doesn't like Stevie. This would bode well for team chemistry.

Good Luck Stevie.

Not saying who I will vote for but I am glad to see Rodney on the list. Pretty tough to make a choice here. I see at least three candidates I like. You could almost make an entire Mosconi Cup team from this list of eight.

Well I like Rodney anyway but I would like to know how these "8" qualified for a vote. There is a lot of players that should be on that list.

It says in the press release that they are the 8 highest ranked players on the BCA ranking. Corey Deuel, Shane Van Boening, Johnny Archer and Oscar Dominguez are already in the team.

Although I hadn't made my mind up yet, it's dissappointing Donny isn't on the list. However the way the list was chosen makes total sense (top BCA points). But I have to wonder ... if this brand new selection process had been made public sooner and laid out in its entirety, whether some US players would have modified their playing schedule to shoot for top 10 US BCA points. It's been so damned mysterious and wrought with moving dates...

For anyone that's voted, was there some sort of voting process beyond just "click one"? Ie. Did you provide an email address, etc.? It says "Please be aware that the software employed in the voting mechanism precludes multiple voting from email addresses and IPs" and I hope the software and process is as accurate as it can be.

Click and ship, that's all. Nothing else required.

No earl!

Its a shame Earl is not on the list, was hoping to see him when I go to the Mosconi Cup, I am disappointed really. If you want to email Matchroom and let them know your disappointed too, here is the email, info@matchroom.com .

That's a great point! With so many random independent events out there for players to choose from (many times with little return in payouts), many players (like Donnie) make choices by convenience and possible returns on their costs of travel. Had some of them known that the BCA points counted for something more than just the ranking, I'm sure some would have made a bigger effort to go to more events.

you'll probably still get to see him. I'm sure he'll be there cheering on his fellow Americans.

Who is the coach?

TBD Lenny. How is it TBD? My inside contact informs me it's via triple secret handshake decoder ring ballot during the 3rd witching moon while Mars is in retrograde.

Seriously though, I have no clue. And I would not underestimate the importance of the captain.

some great players listed but

Based on a number of things, I'm going with Rodney! I think he,ll bring in the extra effort to work as a team that will be needed.

I vote for Earl to be the Captain. or do they have to play as well?

Mosconi Vote

Why are anyone but Americans getting to vote for the US team? Why is the BCA involved at all? What the hell are they doing for pool these days on the player or event level?:( Rodney got my vote.
