I think a great match-up for Mary might be Shanelle Loraine, another beautiful woman with questionable pool credentials. The main difference is that Shanelle gets out there and plays with some damn good players. She is not afraid too look bad, which takes a lot of guts imo. She has surprised more than a few people with her rapid progress though.

All joking aside, I agree that Mary has much to gain getting into a challenge match and little to lose. I pm'd her this, and posted this, but her response was that she was (in essence) put off by the lack of respect from the challenge and the mess that ensued.

Maybe she'll re-think it, but it's impossible to predict. Maybe if JCIN made a draft poster of her and omg and promised 20,000 unique views?

damn it, there I go poking fun again. So ashamed of myself

"Lack of respect" from the challenge?? It was a polite request for a money game. I've been pretty nice about this so far, but why does OMG need to respect Mary?? She wasn't put off by the mess she egged on in the "hottest pool chick" thread. The "ensuing mess" she speaks of wasn't even instigated by OMG. OMG didn't even start this thread.

Marissa, from my post #34 on page 3, this will help put it into context.

Out of respect for PM's, I'm not posting it up.

I pm'd Mary about this. I won't breach much of the respect of "private" from a PM, but I'll share a little.

She claims to me she won't respond and will instead ignore it. :ignore: That if it had been more "respectful and serious" she would have responded, but that it was "messy and non cool."

She said she'd rather play Bartram because he was nice (one door closes another opens Chris ;) ). BUT, that she had no illusion as to her game being anywhere near pro level and she's just beginning.

I can see why she would feel this way, but I was hoping she'd have thick skin and fire back -even if her speed vs omgwtf dictated some weight was in order. A-las, she's apparently not into talking smack and this opportunity looks to fall to the nay-side.

Oh well, we tried. Off into the sunset another one goes. It's a tough go, this billiards thing.

Hi hugs

Hi, I'd be happy to play her. I was rather disappointed I did not get to play her. She was at the Santa Monica girl tournaments organized by Laurie Wagner. I loved it since I don't get to play girls very often. I have heard good things about Melinda Huang and her game I admire any girl that put herself out there like she has. http://www.azbilliards.com/awbt/January2005.html Also she writes a great blog.

I was a bit surprised by all this hoopla. I was there at the end of the Manny Pacquiao Open at Hard Times recorded by TAR, both Melinda and Sunny were there playing each other. Neither one of them talked to me or mentioned any possible games to me. If they would have invited me to shoot with them I would have gladly done so, even if I was a bit sick at the the time. I'm very sure I will get to play her since the Santa Monica girl tournament has been moved to Hollywood billiards. I will be there for the next Monday tournament. Also if any girls at the tournament had wanted to contact me they have my number. I would be happy to welcome them to my house to play pool here also.

At no point did I say am pro I just really enjoy playing and like any other player I'm constantly trying to improve. I don't want people to misunderstand my website was created to sell more of my art I included the pool because it is my passion. Pool is big part of my life, like it is for a lot of you.

I joined AZ to interact with other people that share my passion for pool.
I really don't think I merit this much attention something I have pointed out before.

Not into smack talking? What the heck would you define this besides an overgrown ego!

Mmm I have in the past put money in my bra but actually. I don't pay for to many things usually so most my money is in my purse getting dusty. Then again that's the point of a stake guy for me not to worry about money.

Well there is several ways of approaching this bar situation.

-You can play in a way that makes it more challenging for you to win
Left handed is always good for many reasons u can do it in secret many times
The average player is not in tune enough to know one is doing it

-Take shots one would not really take for the money it makes the game more fun, just don't go to far or it will upset some bar people.
I have started more than my share of trouble by playing one handed
People may not want to play u again and if your goal is to play this may be bad
Then again people take it harder when a girl beats them specially men

-Do not engage in other worlds just don't play drink up play darts. Just because there is pool table in the room does not me you have to on it.
Watch the regular people play don't need to crush every person u see at pool

-Be a monster try your best but don't be surprised if the bar cue ball don't play along ha ha
You will more than likely win even with the bad cue ball
This might wake up the best player in the room to play you. Beware of people like this do not underestimate them in there own turf. Like you the only reason they were not playing was because they knew they were better than everyone else there. So don't take it easy on them crush them.
This might be good for some small action of a few dollars

-Pick a goal like keeping the table till the bar closes this is good mental practice for real tournaments
Can also just give up the table after few games let them have some fun to

- One can also pic a lesser player as a partner play scotch doubles with another 2 people think fun after all it should be fun not serious.
This can be a good way to make friends rather than enemies.
If One is really good pick a pretty girl as partner will make for fun games don't be to serious or will blow the benefits.
This is a good excuse to talk to people girl/guy you wan tot hang with but dont know let them be your partner, wining together will bring you closer.

-Find a bar with free pool days.
This tends to attract better players who frequent bars don't be surprised if u see some pool hall junkies there just having fun.
Also average players are less likely to be upset at a lost when is free to play.

-Do the worst thing ever play one handed beat people will create trouble ha ha ha when you win but then if you lose people will just write you of as a fool ha ha ha

Usually I do a combination depends on my mood there has been time were I play people 50$ a game me one handed or left handed for odd things like DVD players to were I just sit there drinking wine playing darts like there is no pool table. I say somewhere in the middle is the best.

have fun hugssss
mary

mmm me lol just kiting lol this girl i played In a tournament in Santa Monica about two a weeks ago. To bad she can only make about 3 balls at a time but man was she hot lol. Sadly the average fem players is not a looker lol

http://forums.azbilliards.com/showpost.php?p=2065646&postcount=104

I love to see more attractive girls playing pool, yes granted most of them are going to suck but that's ok i will beat them anyway lol just like i beat the men. But seriously most players suck period, men to. Is just that nobody notices them on the other hand Any girl walks in a pool hall plays real pool get noticed no mater her skill level and specially if she is half way attractive. I know i get hit on by pros and silly pool hall junkies like crazy. Is just that us fem player are so outnumbered for every real fem player there is 1,000 guys just as good or at least hardcore which makes us stand out a bit. In the big picture anything that brings positive attention to pool is good for the sport. More attention may equal more money and that's good. If u don't want the money i will take it lol

Well ha ha well Halloween is coming up here again so I may be a devil again but last year I was an angel.

ha ha the hottie female tread that be cool

I will start going Saturdays at shooters Riverside tournaments again after October. I will play the next Jay Swanson. I usually play 1-2 tournaments a week but I rotate them. I sometimes play as far as 2 hours away. I have not been here in riverside for to long so have not hit my grove yet. In this week I was in 2 one $25 one $15. But is hard to resist the $75 -120 tournaments that come up once in a wile like the swany. Specially since a lot of the time someone wants to pay my way in. To turn down backers is a hard thing to do.

JoeyA yes I do use escriama sticks these actually do work unlike nun chucks

Ha ha no silly man I don't really need to try to market myself the guys on here do it for me. Actually my original post on this thread had nothing to do with me. I just said who I believed the hot girl in a picture was fwy it was not me. Then someone asked me a polite question so I responded it would be rude not to.

Thanks, No I don't do websites for people that's just silly. Actually to have website was not my idea at all, my friend an editor pushed me to do so to sell more art. He helped me and edited most of it for me. Then again many of my friends had told me do one for years.

-By next year I will list all my sponsors on my website, I have some decisions to make.
-I do 2 things that make me money Art and pool.
-No I haven't won any major titles since I'm but a beginner of the game
-Yes pool makes me money I have backers and do play money games if need be and easy tournaments if I really need money.

We were there to play each other, Mary.

But, that is beside the point. Now that you are here, what game would you like to play, what format, and for how much?

Edited to add:
Congratulations on the sudden improvement in your writing. This post does not resemble your previous posts, grammatically, in any way.

Actually I got impressed by this polite and nice answer after all the different kind of posts in this thread.

The best thing, it looks like there might be some action. Good luck to both of you!

Umm.....seriously?

I just read this ENTIRE thread. I was trying not to prematurely judge, however, after reading some of the posts that this girl has written I am just completely...well...dumbfounded. WOW! Is all I can manage to think right now.

I have to give props to OMGWTF!!! And thanks go out to hilla hilla for that last post airing out all the dirty laundry.....I would have never taken the time out for that!

Peace,
Amanda

Mary,

If invitation is what you're waiting for, then here it is. Sorry, I didn't send it in 24 karate gold leaf and hand carried by by butler. I gave him this week off:rolleyes:

You are cordially invited to TAR Challenge to face OMG!!!
How much would your backers like to put up?

OMG doesn't want to play you for fun or go to your house.

This is an invitation for TAR Challenge.

Roy,
Don't jump the conclusion too soon. She said she just wants to play...or would love to play her in a tournament (if they ever crossed path).

She did not actually accept the TAR Challenge... Big Difference.

Don't care about the rest of it...but I sent you rep for putting a picture of a beagle puppy up. It made me smile

Edit: Actually, I am finding this entertaining...so I guess I do care a little. I have not seen Mary play, but I would have to give omgwtf the edge based on what I know. That being said....this kind of thing has happened before, and it will happen again. Women players should support each other. I know. I used to be the gal with the huge ego. And fortunately for me, I had girls who made it clear to me that we could be competitors without tearing each other down and letting egos get in the way. And yes...you can still gamble and be friends. Look around your local pool room and you will see it between the guys all day every day. Even take Monica and Sarah as an example...or Jeanette and Vivian. These gals played challenge matches....and did it without trash-talking one another. And they are all still friends. I think someone needs to explain to Miss Avila that her mouth (or her fingers since she has posted most of this stuff) is sending her into a territory that I don't think she needs or wants to go. Humility goes a long way in helping one to survive the pool room jungle. Confidence is terrific. Arrogance sucks.

I am so disappointed. I just read this entire thread and the best part was seeing the above statement on page 9 and the anticipation to see what kind of comment Corvette was going to say to make me fall out of my chair laughing. I feel slighted, you're slipping Vette!!!!!

I try to stay out of these confrontational threads as much as possible. I can't stand when people needlessly argue and bicker for no reason on a pool and billiards forum.

Also, Post #6400.
