I see Rodney leading, I do feel he is a better player then Charlie Williams but not a better player then Dennis, just curious as to what others think and also why would we not want the best player of the 3 on team USA. Rodney is first in the polls with Charlie 2nd and Dennis in 3rd, the other players are a little behind in the polls. We do want to win don't we or do we want to lose 3 years in a row?

Sorry guys, these are the top 3 in the polls currently, all the other guys look to not have a shot since its halfway done, Charlie and John are not very far behind Dennis but way behind Rodney. :sorry:

they all play the same ,damn near perfect.

John, IMO you probably are the best all around player on the list, you play all the games well as opposed to just one or 2.

P.S. I would still like to strangle you for beating Frost in the DCC finals, lmao.

Hatchetman should get the spot for sure...I can't believe Charlie Williams is even close.

I really thought it would be neck and neck between Hatch and John Schmidt...Maybe Charlie has a team of bots out there casting as many votes as possible?

They should have had the 8 players have a round robin and play for the spot, maybe next year.

Beware the Botnet!

Michael:

That's very possible. Gosh, what polls one can manipulate with a large Botnet at their service!

IMHO, I think Matchroom should've implemented [re]CAPTCHA (i.e. dynamically-created graphic image of characters that a voter has to look at, recognize, and type in), so that the votes are actually from a human at the keyboard, not a Bot.

Alas, hindsight is always 20/20...

I agree any three of them would benefit the team. Rodney can whip up some fast wins, Charlie has 5th best record ever of any american in the event, and Dennis can intimidate those europeans with his strong game

Does anyone know how many years CW was actually on the US team? I think it was only two years, but I'm not sure.

Also, if the highest winning percentage was any factor at all, Earl would have had the first spot.

I've been suspicious of the validity of this voting system since I learned of it.

I voted for Hatch.....once.

How is Hatch getting all the support here, and in 3rd place right now. Something isn't adding up to me. Charlie Williams and Rodney Morris got campaigns going with their production companies and myspace and twitter and facebook. It turned into a popularity contest all the sudden which is whack.

If Dennis don't get 1st and win a spot I am subject to go Euro for the cup win just off principal. If this was between Putnam or Schmidt or Bryant I can understand it, they win stuff. Charlie Williams is a geek. Rodney is rock solid so no complaints but he is getting teenage girls to vote for him, not cool.

Vote for a pool player please. Not a computer person.

You know, I am NOT a Charlie Williams cheerleader, but it is a little disappointing to see some of the words written about him on this thread.

He has never done anything nice for me or mine. However, he does promote pool and provides events for players of all caliber to shoot pool in.

I hope the best man does win. It sucks that it is a popularity contest, but that's the way pool is.

Look at some of the inductees into the Hall of Fame. Many of them are nominated by their friends, when there are many others who are MUCH, MUCH, MUCH more deserving to be in the Hall of Fame, in my opinion.

I think it's a travesty in some instances to see these kinds of popularity contests going on when it comes to electing who should be considered for a high-profile pool happening.

Shouldn't these kinds of things be based on merit and not who's friends with who? Sheesh! What a damn shame the United States doesn't have a governing body of professional pool for the men. It really sucks big time.

C'est la vie. I'm getting used to it when it comes to pool. I just sit back and watch the show. Pool is a rich man's high. :grin-square:

good post jam. honestly charlie has always been great to me and hes a monster player.
if he makes the team good for him.
i wish i could make team .i dont have the computer skills to garner enough votes.
anyway whoever on the list makes it good for them they earned it and good luck.

I feel at this time Dennis has the most firepower. I was in Vegas in May and watched all three of these guys play. I think Dennis has a higher gear than either Rodney or Charlie. I also think if you asked the European squad who they'd like to avoid playing choosing from these 3 guys it would be the Hatchetman.
