My DCC adventure 2010

Ok, I have to add a little story from the DCC.

I had just finished watching a one-pocket match where JoeyA beat the hell out of a fellow AZ'er, with the score being 24 to -3, and when we were about to leave I noticed that our friend "poolandpokerman" was playing on a table nearby.

I told Joey that I would catch up with him later and watch the rest of that match. "poolandpokerman" came up with some strong moves and great shots, and at the score 1-2 he came up with a beautiful bankshot to close the gap and make it hill-hill. In the last game he had two shots caused by temporarily brain-damage, but his opponent couldn't find a way to win, and some more great shots from "poolandpokerman" seized the win.

It was a well played match against a strong opponent, and when I walked over to him and "his crew" (I've forgotten their names now), they were so happy.

Tom got his big reward, and finally got a chance to meet a top player in the next round. The day after he got to play John Brumback, so he was the happiest man in the Horseshoe that night, that's for sure!!!

The very next day I was warming up for my match, and Brumback came over to my table and we started to talk. For those of you who read my reports last year might remember my match with him last year, and after we had talked for some time he mentioned that something similar almost happened this morning. His opponent "poolandpokerman" had forgot to move his ball from the tray, so when John had ran 7 balls he thought he was finished because there were 8 balls there, and he was about to rack, but "poolandpokerman" told him that he had 1 of them, and John agreed and they continued to play with John winning that game.

John was so happy that it ended well, and he finished off by saying that his opponent played some great shots and played very well. So even Brumback was impressed by your shots and moves, poolandpokerman!!! I need 8-4 next year ;)

I sweated the semifinal of the bankpool-division together with "poolandpokerman" and his crew, and when Larry Nevel was up 2-1 in games and 3-2 in ball count, at an "open" table, I told them that I would bet on Efren from here. Even. We bet a total of $ 15, and "poolandpokerman" told me that I would win, because he always lost his bets.

First thing to happen was that Larry missed a routine-bank, and from there on he didn't pocket another ball, and Efren made a comeback to win that match.

When I was walking back to my room to take a shower, I met Efren in the hallway. He stopped me and said I was walking in the wrong direction and had to see the final, and I told him that I was gonna do that, but I needed a shower.

I then told him about the bet I had made, and he laughed and said thank you. I then told him that since he had worked so hard for the $ 15 I just won, he deserved a jelly, so I gave him $ 5 and he accepted and laughed even more :)

Always fun being around Efren :)

Roy-

Was good to see you again at the DCC. Keep practicing your American 8 Ball. Next year you will be able to take off the local APA 7.

Anytime you need a favor from me, just ask. Roy is definitely one of the good guys in pool.

Also, next year - dinner is on me.

Try to make it for Vega$ in May.

CYA.

I only saw that 8-ball guy once after we played, and he didn't want to play more...

But I will practice it, even though I hate 8-ball. I need to beat Strong Arm John in 8-ball next year :D

The only soft acion I got was with 1on1, but he escaped my trap when I thought I had him where I wanted... Imagine, I was up 11-7 and lost 15-12 the last day we played... Suddenly I started to play like I was drunk or something... Pretty sure 1on1 put something in my pepsi, but that's another story

Yeah, I heard Bobby is into foreign chicks. Guess you were close enough! Must have been the accent and the sporty green shoes, lol.

Roy, not one mention of our One Pocket match hours before I left on Friday morning. I'm hurt. :(
Don't forget to tell them how you missed with BIH from behind the line. That shot cost you a dollar!

I had already forgotten about that one...

You know, there are certain shots in life where you know you just have to miss. Without that miss, some doors might have been closed forever.

As it was now, the last thing I saw was a smiling and dancing Jay, grabbing my $$$ and opening his home in Los Angeles for me ;)

Did I hear REMATCH?
P.S. I have the same Diamond table in my house, except a tad tighter. You'll love it!

Of course we will have a rematch, at YOUR table ;)

But that is worth a spot, btw

Reading all of these threads is making me hate having to stay at home even worse. Thanks.

I don't feel pity for you. You are a sheep that let your wife control your life... tsk tsk...

Roy,

Thanks for the posts. You genuinely seem like a person anyone would be thankful to call you their friend.

Regards and hope to meet one day,
Koop

It took a Herculean effort to turn this guy's image around. :winknudge:

Thanks!

Oh, I have to say that NO ONE, and I mean NO ONE, buys more drinks to people than Boradriver!!! Stay close to him and you might get your face on a picture with a Sheriff you too :D

Money well spent Sir I had a great time.

LOFL...you're not so bad yourself Joey.
Will I see you again at VF this year?

Koop, if I go, I may have to move my dog house to the neighbor's yard or even further.

I do like to say King of Prussia, Pennsylvania but like the tournament a lot since it is a bit shorter.

We'll see. I'll keep you in the loop.

Thanks,

JoeyA

Beav,

How dare you imply I am bias toward foreign women. I do not discriminate... I like foreign and domestic women. However, Roy is neither. His new nick is "one-set Sally" though, so maybe he is a hermaphrodite???

Just teasing ROY!!!

Grrr....

I'll play you a game of 9-ball one-handed with wrong hand for $ 50 next time I'll see you too, don't you worry. I am gonna get my money back :D

Hope you can stay longer next time!!! Time to show your better half who's in charge!

You and IBA are a good match up..he likes to bet 1 game and you like 1 set...how do you compromise?
