High Praise for John Schmidt - Player Review

john: if i were you i wouldn't have anything to do with harriman. he's the pariah of the pool world with nothing to lose.

that guy ( D.) is a sick head, he should accept John´s offer for the 20 innings or shut the F... up ! John, if he does not acept it just ignore him, this has to end.

That's not fair IMO. They have a game they have played twice. Danny wants to keep playing that. Just cause John made a challenge doesn't mean more than Danny's challenge. It's like beating a guy in 9-ball and then only offering to play one pocket or the guy gets no more action. That doesn't compute either.

Play the same sets again and someone please let me bet on John!

thing is mikeyfrost i think i can beat him all around but i would have to play him, with the 20 innings game we wouldnt and cant be in same room together.
we could do 10ball ghost and 1pocket ghost too.

im just not going to play where ive got to look or hear him ,in person.

its like a golf challenge you go play 72 holes on course and ill be one group behind you playing same course ,low score wins.im just refusing to be in the same group with him on golf course, see what i mean

This pretty much confirms that Harriman is missing a few marbles upstairs. If I were John, I would look into getting a restraining order.

My ferrule cracked playing the one pocket towards the end of our match and I caught a bad roll when that happened. Later I asked a cue maker if there was some laser that u could have used from a distance to zero in on my cue and crack the ferrule but my source said no (however I would not have put it past u John.)

.)

That makes sense to me.

hi

this way if i win he cant accuse me of anything because im not even in same room. he will probably say i paid someone in audience to point a laser at his cue and crack him ferrul.

i think someone pointed a laser and cracked his mind.

I would love to see you two play

I do not believe this match will ever take place. When two people have such bad feeling towards each other as John & Danny. It can never be forgotten. I do not blame a person for always having those feelings toward a person. I have met people in my Life and no matter how nice you are to them. They do not like you. You can't win. It is best to keep away from them.
I am just wondering what is going to happen when they have to play each other in a National Tournament sometime in the future. I hope it's a 14.1 match and they have it on film. I'll be the first one in line to buy a copy.
You two need to stop. It is really unhealthy. Just keep away from each other and if you do have to play each other some time down the road in a tournament. Play the match like the two Great Players that you both are.
You both owe it to your Fans.

Tap. Tap. Tap. Very well said.

I am with Jim on this. John, I think you should move away from the ticking time bomb and get on with your remarkable runs. Your point has been made
and I don't believe anything more needs to be said. This thread started out talking about what great insight John has in running racks as will be demonstrated even more so when the player review video of the 171 ball run is released later this month. For reasons known only to him, Danny apparently ignored the advice he attributed to his mother and decided to hijack this thread and take it to a very weird place. I'd like to get our forum back to 14.1.

me too.... anyone who believes that his cue was sabotaged with a laser by his opponent is close to self destruction. you don't want to be around him when that happens.

i did not throw chalk at you and you know it.
i swiped at the chalk trying to pick it up very fast and accidentally knocked it off the table,in your general direction .i then said im sorry danny and told you that was by accident.

by the way if if i played 14.1 as much as you and my high run was only 280 i might kill myself....

If Nolan Ryan were to throw a piece of Master chalk at my head from a distance of 15 feet or so, it may feel like a tetanus shot or maybe a bumble-bee sting. Unless it hits you in the eye or chips a chiclet (tooth), it ain't going to do any real damage. It ain't no hand grenade. Especially "chalk knocked off the table".

John, if you can slap chalk so fast that it becomes a deadly weapon, or at least a WMD (Weapon of Minimal Destruction), then you got big potential to be a champeen handball player! Maybe Accu-Stats can put a radar gun on you sometime and get some specifics for us! Or maybe Dr David Alciature Ph.D. of Billiard's Digest can do some calculus or algebra, whatever them scientist fellas do, to see if it's near the sound barrior or not.

Also, the "280" line is almost as funny as the mountain goat line, which is still my personal favorite J.A.S. quote.

Taking this all in stride and injecting humor like you do speaks volumes about how healthy you are mentally and emotionally.

My dream match for T.A.R. is for you and Shannon Daulton, but I also hope it never comes off because I don't want either of you to lose! But this proposed "3rd Time is the Chalk, er I mean Charm" match up IS right up there with the best possible matches at this point in time. I for one hope you guys do play again. I respect Danny's great skills as an elite player, but I and several thousand others will be rooting for you. Being the man you are, that's very easy to do!

it's not your opinion about me that is the issue here, dave. get with the program....

Badly worded on my part. I'm sure my opinion of you is of no consequence to you but let me restate. I think your statement was in poor taste.

As for your arrogant demand that I "get with the program", I'll take it under consideration.

Dave Nelson

How about a TAR Match of Schmidt vs. Ortmann in Straightpool to 500 points ? That would be cool ! You guys could do it in Vegas as many of us and TAR and both players will be there !

P.S. I know that Oliver is right in his head ! so don´t worry John ! :rotflmao1::wink:

exactly

oliver is a buddy of mine and as good or better than you know who.
i would much rather play him even though i think its a tougher game because win or lose hes a great guy.

Amen DMG! I am biting at the bit to get John's new dvd of the 294 as well as the 171 player review!!! I don't think anyone should have to deal with people who are in dyer need of professional help.....I know John well enough to know he's a great guy whos very personable and a joy to be around. He's a hell of a pool player with a big heart. Get that 294 dvd bro!!!!

John is not looking for a tough game

When visiting with Bobby Hunter about John's behaivor reguarding his temper and poor attitude, Bobby said he tried to convince John to play at the World 9-ball as there was a scheduling conflict with the TAR match and the World 9-ball Championships. Bobby explained that John had just won the US Open 9ball and had a chance to win two majors back to "" and how that would look great on a resume' for John. Instead he chose to try and beat me at Louisville (Cue Olympics) in an all around match up, he simply lost. I think Mr. Schmidt is a bit territorial and felt somewhat threatened, maybe he thought I was invading his space on trying to corner the market with my own 14.1 DVD's here on AZ. John once said when thanking Bob Jewett, " I think I speak for all the players when I say thanks Bob." John You will never speak for me and your patterns nor your shotmaking skills are superior over mine.

I now figured out the way a cowardly mind thinks, in John's case he chooses to play someone who he does not like, that way if he discovers the game is too close for comfort he has a built in excuse to retreat. The men's pro tour has allways had it's little 'uppidy yuppidy' nits such as John, their arrogence is a small part of what holds pool back. They think it's their job to try and play God (John is in heavy with that click I am sorry to say.) I know nit behaivor when I see it, maybe he will grow out of it, thanks for apolagizing about scooping that piece of chalk at me John. I am also just of average intelligence except I realize my gift for Pocket Billiards, I do think it will serve you well however in the future John if you do business with people whom you like. You hated me from the very beginning of our match and did not really even know me, except for your public knowledge, posting my picture is just John's way of 'actin a fool' I am sure he has done some things in his past that he is not proud of, maybe he should have been a reporter instead of a bitter afraid pool player (which is what he is.)

I will play any kind of challenge against Schmidt on nuetral territory, I would also prefer to be in a seperate room - this way I can avoid perverbial chalk scooped in my direction. He lied about saying there was an apolagy check the video if it will show, I do not have a copy of either match at my disposal. Once again John lied, in our first match John said in Louiville to me "Ok Danny I want to do a $1,000 dollar saver but I do not want you to tell your backer about it" (vintage John Shmidt.) I give the readers on this forum my word it was John's idea to do a saver, I am far from perfect but my word is my bond. If I would have taken him up on his offer he probably would not have paid me if I had lost, that's why it was a secret I guess. Either way I was not going to keep my backer Duff (owner of Side Pockets in Gladstone, MO) in the dark as John suggested he was doing with his backer. Besides I did not lose-the best man won and certainly the most honest I can assure 'yall' of that fact. It was this offer from John that put up the first warning flag about his integrity towards me.

This feels so much like a boxing promotion to me. I wish both of you would shut up and just play or leave each other alone.

I haven't gotten to meet you Danny but since you are in MO, I am sure i will someday. No matter who is right or wrong here, both of you are acting like 3 year olds IMO and unless it's just for hype so people buy the match, it needs to end. But what do I know?
