I don't want to feel a button down cuff tighten up every time I extend my bridge hand or feel a tucked in shirt tug across my neck when I lean over the table.
Hey, as *****y as I get about the way people dress I'm with you 100% on this one. I sure as hell don't want any of those things either. With that said, if I'm in a tournament my minimum is a polo shirt. If I have to go with a button down shirt then I go short sleeve and I have a button extender for the collar so it doesn't choke the living sh!t outta me when I lean over the table. There are ways to be comfortable if you put the effort forth.
And you know, I'm not against people being comfortable at all. But no one can tell me that they are more comfortable in raggy, faded jeans with holes in them than a pair of clean jeans with no holes. Or a shirt that fits rather than being 3 sizes too big. And I'm sorry, but it's just poor manners to be wearing a ball cap inside regardless of if you're playing pool or not. And last but not least, no one can tell me they're more comfortable in a t-shirt splattered with profanities than a solid color t-shirt or something less offensive. I'm not a prude, anyone that knows me knows that my mouth is about as filthy as it gets. Every other word from me begins with F and there is no way you could ever say something so crude that it would offend me, trust me, I could top it, but I don't wear it on my chest for everyone to see.
I'm going to the pool hall tonight. I'm going to wear what I'm wearing now, black shorts and my Bengals jersey. It's not dressy at all, but everything is clean and it fits right.
