AZBilliards, through the kindness of Lucasi Hybrid Cues, Simonis Cloth and the TAP league, is now providing continuous live scoring and the brackets to the World Pool Masters in Las Vegas. You may find the brackets at: http://www.azbilliards.com/2010wpm/scores.php and the brackets are at: http://www.azbilliards.com/2010wpm. This is an unbelievably tough field and these matches are fantastic. Wish you were here, but you can still follow the action rack by rack on AZB.

Hello jerry and you have struck again with great info. thank you.

No streams going today. I do not know as yet if any are planned for later. If so I will post a story and let y'all know.

Live Streaming

This is to also acknowledge the folks from Matchroom who are providing the money and the expertise for this event.

They have done the World Pool Masters for many years - but they expanded the field to 64 this year.

I also think a thanks needs to go the CSI (that is us) for providing the venue and a lot of support services for the Matchroom people.

FYI - the US Open 10-Ball - which immediately follow the Masters and starts on 17th) will have live streaming and the event wil be on CTS - which allows a full view of the brackets and player history.

All of our events can be seen at www.ctsondemand.com. That means all of the 6700+ amatuers can also be followed.

Does it change to single elimination once it gets down to 4 in each bracket?

I don't know why such an event is not live. It is 2010 right ??? You have players from around the world, so a lot of potential viewers (customers) I presume.

A big thank you to everyone who's involved in making this happen! I hope there are streams, but even there's not, we'll get some videos on youtube or espn or something eventually. I know i've seen them before, just can't recall the exact places.

I almost forgot about the 10-ball open... almost. ;)

Corey, Earl, and Oscar went 2 and out? Yikes.

Reyes, Bustamante and SVB are all out as well, if I'm reading the brackets correctly that is.

Also GYK.

Someone mentioned that the Bonus Ball players are probably too worn out for this tournament... they might be right!

I see that John Schmidt took down Lee Van hill/hill. Good for Schmitty, obviously Corteza is playing well since he just won the Mezz last weekend.

An amazing final game at hill-hill! Schmidt trailed 8-6 and came back to tie it up. In the final game (to see who goes thru to the Elimination rounds) the one ball got tied up with the five ball I believe. The one was in the jaws of the corner pocket, with the other ball blocking it. John played a brilliant safety off the edge of the one and sent the cue ball to the other end rail. Corteza couldn't see the one and had to kick at it. He slow rolled the cue ball and gently struck the end rail right at the point of the corner pocket, and barely tapped the one, which lightly touched the rail. A great shot! Schmidt countered with another similar safety. And Coteza countered again. It went on like this for nearly ten innings. One great shot after another. By noww, everyone in the arena was on their feet watching this magnificent battle. I had a ring side seat myself, calling all the hits!

Finall John broke out the one and sent the cue dow table and hid it behind another ball. Corteza looked dead, but somehow managed to go two rails and hit the one. He left it on the side rail near another ball. John was forced to play safe yet again. Once again, John hid the one from Lee VAn. He studied the shot a while, and decided to kick off the side rail into the one. He lined up the kick with the far corner pocket. He got down, fired hard and kicked the one straight in the heart of the pocket. The crowd screamed, and then watched while the cue ball followed the same path as the one directly into the corner. John had BIH and easily ran out from there.

This match took a toll on Lee Van and he was then beaten by Jayson Shaw from Scotland and eliminated from the competition. He followed Efren, Bustamante and Alcano, who had all been eliminated as well. Only Orcollo and Gomez made it thru among the filipinos. A pretty disappointing showing for them.

Is the final 32 single elimination? I saw the final brackets and that kind of sucks for the guys who don't have a loss yet.
