It's a good question. Most players base their decision over some years playing. Some have the opportunity to play with a friend's cue which may have a different wrap, and that's a good thing. My preference after years of playing with a linen wrap is that I had my custom cue made with a leather wrap(calfskin). I sweat a lot,but I use a towel to dry my hands often. I love the feel of the wrap, which translates to a comfort feature in my brain, which helps me. Just My Most Humble Opinion.Which kind of wrap do you like better?

I have sweaty palms, so I prefer them wrapless.

My hands sweat alot during play as well and i have found that good quality leather/lizard is much easier and more comfortable to hold onto than linen. Wrapless works well too
Wow, I guess it all comes down to personal preference. My hands seem
to sweat alot too, and wrapless along with leather just feel funny when
my hands are sweaty. Linen to me feels pretty much the same no matter
what condition my hands are. I vote Linen.
I think wraps are like women. You love or like the one you are with. I have leather, lizard, elephant, linen, stacked, and wrap less and have tried cork. They all feel good. I think it just depends on the look you want.
Ask Mika or Archer or Varner if the look of their wrap is more important than the actual type of wrap, I think you know the answer.

Stacked leather kind of intrigues me, though I'm perfectly happy with my linen wrapped cue.
