Queen Jean FINALLY on Youtube...

Thank you sir.

Great stuff! After all I have heard and read about her, this is the 1st time I have ever seen her in action.
Thank you so much.
Tommy

WOW, this was the infamous match.
After Robin made the 9-ball on the break the second time, Jean uttered her famous last words.

It would be cool to see her play in the US Open 9 Ball this year. I can't imagine the fans being more interested in any other match if she's playing.

^^ Hey !!

I have uploaded a couple more parts, its a work in progress when I get time. Sorting out the video in movie maker, then uploading etc is fairly time consuming.

Just search for "Jean Balukas" on youtube, and it should find you...

Cheers - Dave.

Yes, this is the one that got her fined and she decided to walk away rather than pay it. I have heard the story so many times it is pretty exciting to actually get to see it.

Jean was fined for her remarks but note that Bell remarked "no class" and was not fined by the WPBA. Bell lodged a protest that she was "sharked" so the story goes.

Jean sharked Robin. Clearly Jean was frustrated but her comments were uncalled for. She should have paid the fine and moved on. Jean really reminded me of Strickland in this match.

There is no doubt that Robin was disturbed by Jean's outbursts.

Beyond that the irony is that Jean got some lucky rolls as well.

Jean plays good and thank you for this footage. I doubt Robin will chime in here but I for one feel that Robin was in the right. She should have been able to expect her opponent to sit quietly and not comment on Robin's play.

Is Robin Bell the younger Robin Dodson??

Overall Jean looks fantastic in ovrall play. This video compulation is brilliant!!

Did she try to call a foul on that 9-ball before Robin eventually scratched on the side pocket?
Gawd, those awful cloth and non-Centennial balls. How did they survive?

My favorite comment so far is "she's won 10 us opens since she was 13... I was a failure at erector sets at that age.."

I guess I missed whatever you are referring too. How do you know that the balls weren't Centennials? I think that the event was sponsored by Brunswick so is is fair to assume that they had the best available ball sets at the time on the tables?

I think Charlie Ursitti was the tournament director wasn't he?
