Blue Diamond Chalk Wearing Out Ferrule???

If you getting chalk on your ferrule you do need chalking instructions. Chalk on a ferrule is the first sign of an inexperienced player.

Oh Yeah? Come get some, Mongoloid. I'll even give you cash back rewards program if you become good customer.

;):thumbup::grin-square::wink::D

Just felt someone needed to step up since Ace said he was retiring from this thread. :grin-square:

Hey Mike (and everyone in AzB land):

I only jumped in and read the first 5 and the last 5 posts and I am utterly amazed.

Were the middle 390 posts similarly telling the op he was chalking incorrectly?

Is the AzB counter broken or did this thread really get over 11,000 views.

Watch out DesMoine Pool Scene! LOL!!! ;)

Best,
Brian kc

There are worse things to do than read the whole thread.
You'll find wisdom, wit ,woofing and offers for action.
And in the end, tolerance and understanding (somewhat)
You could purchase a popular novel and not do any better.

And in memory of me two Irish grandmothers i feel compelled
to write a limerick to commemorate this thread.
ahem

Owed to Blue Ferrule Wong

There once was a 'playa' named Ace
Who said "Get outta my face
I'm chalking all right
It's just,the ferrule's not white
But I'm leading 9-2 in the race"

pt < who thinks the potato famine may have affected his IQ

Yeah, but wasn't that because he got all red-repped? That's been fixed now, he needs to be back here entertaining us!

Yeah, those are big shoes for me to fill. lol. Like trying to be Steve Carrell's replacement on The Office.

Sadly, without Ace this thread has no chance. It's yesterday's news what with the the new hot topic catching all the headlines over in those other two threads. :grin-square:

Wears out ferrules and...

Tongues too - as evidenced by this 28 page thread.

Brian, you have to go back and read it all. You just have to. Come on, you know you want to. It really is entertaining. Grab some popcorn and a 6 pack of your favorite frosty beverage, and get cracking. You won't be disappointed.

Trob, no offense, but you're a day late and a dollar short with that response. We tried telling him that about 400 posts and 11,000 views ago, and it didn't work.
lol I just noticed the thread and didn't know how crazy long it was...lol I read like the first two pages and realized the author was a total douche and moved on.

Sorry, but that's like reading War and Peace and saying...
...It's about Russia

It developes and Ace didn't come out looking so bad.
But if you're thinking of reading it all, pack a lunch :(

Mr. Cleary you can get played sir!

Oh wait! You wouldn't bet water is wet
Oh wait! You wouldn't bet you're breathing
Oh wait! You can't play a lick

Why don't you go make a t-shirt and copy some more stuff I say

P.S. If anyone wants to play me some. Please come. Otherwise put your skirt back on.

He's got jokes...

Said this via PM:

"you copied what I said (you wont bet water is wet) and made a T-shirt. I said that real loud to someone at Masters (many people have asked me about it), and the next few days, I see a T-shirt, being made. No one NYC says stuff. Then I hear you like what Rob Pole said and want to make a T-shirt from that. WTF.You can't even think of your own T-shirts..."

You know, I honestly don't like jumping on people and acting like a bully.

Wong was s*tty to me in the thread and through PM... and accused me of stealing his "line" for a shirt. A line that has been around for a looooong time. So that set me off. If we have business to handle, we can do it off the public forum. He acted childish and drug me down to his level. So I apologize to the forum.

He really thinks he coined the phrase "you wont bet water is wet"? LOL

Hello,
I just came across the phrase in the book "Playing off the Rail" by David McCumber.

Chapter XII after the first paragraph it is mention that one "would not bet that water is wet"
Copyright 1996

Some one that has the book can look to verify this. tyvmia.

No biggy just like to help with the history of anything pool related !

Huh, turns out Ace isn't the only one who says it after all. Ya know, considering someone printed it in 1996, when Ace was probably 9.

The phrase is much older than that.
In the middle 60's i'd just had my first dry martini.Someone mentioned
that water was wet and i disagreed.Being in the minority on this subject
I faded all their action.

I really l-lost a l-lot of cashhhhh

Have you ever come home from a hard day at the poolhall and heard your wife say, "Ring around the ferrule. Ring around the ferrule. Honey, you've got ring around the ferrule."
You've tried scrubbing them out, and that never worked, so why don't you try Wisking them out.
Try new blue Wisk today, and before you know it you won't be hearing anymore, "Ring around the ferrule. Ring around the ferrule."

Wisk is a product of Procter and Grumble and is not intended for use on natural ferrule material such as ivory, or antler, nor should it be used by anyone by the name of ace. For answers to questions, or comments call: 1-800-328-7448.
