Why pay for pool lessons when you have expertvillage ?

Oh god. Recently I've noticed Sal Butera and Max Eberle contributing to those types of video sites. But for the most part a lot of these guys (not all) are either giving false, misleading or in a lot of cases useless information.

Most of them cite their teaching credentials as "I've been playing for a really long time". The guy in the video states that he's finished in the 10 precentile in the world, but if you think of it...isn't everyone who plays pool in the top 10 percentile of players?

Ha! Wait until you see who has the last laugh

:eek::eek::grin::grin::grin:

Warning to Randy and Scott, make sure you are not drinking hot coffee when watching the lesson.

Don't laugh too hard Joey. I have it on good authority that Expertvillage will soon have a video out on how to build your own custom cue with only a hand drill and a Barlow knife.

I predict the market for new custom cues will hit rock bottom.

Are you seriouse,,,,,false, misleading, useless information.....Ive been sitting here for the last 45 minutes watching his videos for nothing,,,,,that's it, I'm going out to the bar to drink enough to forget I ever seen these video's. Since you ruined my pool playing career, could you at least call me a cab. :lmao::lmao:

You guys are laughing but its useful info for the beginner who never picked up a cue.
i don;'t think our teachers on Az have anything to worry about.:D

I disagree. There are much better sources of info that are clearer and more accurate. Start the beginners on the right foot, not on their elbows.

I suppose EV should get some points for putting in all the work, but he would have done better to work with a script and get an editor.

LOL I think I saw one where the guy was teaching the scoop-jump as a legitimate shot! Hilarious. No wonder the bangers at my local dive bar call double-hits and scoop jumps as legal. I have to give some of them a freaking physics lecture on a weekly basis up there.

It's these types of well meaning vids that make Scott a wealthy Instructor.

Free gets as free does....SPF=randyg

Less is more is now proved to not always be correct.

However in the guys defense he does not make any high claims.

Best is a "good" local teacher as we all know.

Nothing like hands on direct and instant feedback especially from knowledgable experts, thanks to mine you know who you are....

Yep, I saw that scoop-jump one as well- TOTALLY misleading!

When it comes to pool I would rather take lessons from Elmer Fudd, JMO.

Love how it cuts just before the draw shot. Aiming on the 7 ball and pocketing the 5 in the end. The teacher needed 2 trys to perform this intricate draw shot and couldn't even edit the video so we wouldn't notice.

There are many people who, unknowingly and knowingly, post misleading or misinformation on places like You-Tube (among other sites). This guy may mean well...but he really has no clue, in terms of communicating things they way they really happen, in the real world.

Remember there are one or two certified instructors that also have no idea how things happen in the real world also.
