Fatboys Pool Room-Part 1, Part 2 will be in a about 10 daysposted i

It's going to be an honour to participate in the making of Part-2, it'll be fun!
See you soon, buddy.

I stayed there for 3 or 4 days with Archer. Eric put me in one of the little guest houses that has plasma screen tvs video games and by the way its a 6 bed 6 bath guest house. Archer and I went looking around the grounds one night when it was dark and gotr lost. Fatboy is a great host and I got to play some pool and snooker in his pool room.

i havent made a dime in the past 26-or 27 months, I have been carring this joint on my savings that long, and its taking its toll on me-i'm on a pile of heart meds now. its over $100,000/month. hopefully i will click into something soon:wink:

mechanic/player...It's called an "infinity pool"...it has no 'edges'. Very cool...my wife and I have swam in that pool, and it IS the nutz!

Eric...I know you've been talking about selling the house for a long time. I wish you well, with whatever happens...but as I told you the first time I saw your place, you have the ULTIMATE pad that will ever be owned by a poolplayer. Glad to see that you were able to finish the big house. Boy does it look different from a couple of years ago! Hope I get a last chance to see it again, before it's gone forever!

Beautiful, before I worked on tables I built swimming pools, we did a pool like yours for one of the guys in the D. Matthews band, I forget the style it's called, vanishing edge maybe?

I thought about that too...but then I realized...I could not even afford the monthly upkeep on that place....not to mention the property taxes.

I spoke to Eric about this one time. I figured the MONTHLY upkeep on his place was equivalent to 2 1/2 times my ANNUAL income.

Figure heating in winter, cooling during summer, water usage, electricity, enough work for 4 to 8 gardeners and a host of other expenses, then you realize how costly this can be.

If I asked Eric to "flip for it" and I happened to win, I think I could only afford to stay there for two weeks, at most. If I lost, well, I'd probably end up at the bottom of Lake Mead. :frown:

Eric, real nice pictures of your place! Awesome!!!

Hope you make another fortune by selling your "home", but hope you can keep it a lil longer since I haven't been in Vegas yet ;)

All the best

What can be said place is gorgeous. Here is something funny 100k month one month would pay off everything i have.

the real nuts

The house is without question the best. But the real nuts will be when your health improves. The house, cars and other material things are nothing if you don't have the health to enjoy them. Best of luck to you and may you have a speedy health resolution.

Here is a link that has pics of the main house, guest houses, etc. There is one or 2 pics of my pool room.

So since there is a pic of the pool room here is the link, I will post pics of the snooker room and pinball arcade etc in about 10 days when Poohkiller comes to visit, i'm too dumb/lame/dense/etc to know how to post pics or resize them etc. So when he arrives we will get some good shots.

I'm kinda trying to sell my house-I'm sick of Vegas. I have the mortal nutz of a property that happens to be misplaced in Vegas. And I been in and out of here for 20 years, i want a change.

wow, soooo: how long does it take to dust, Windex, and vacuum a place like this?

takes long enough

Eric, really outstanding home. What do you do for a living ? Couldn't have paid for this with pool winnings, lol ?:)

I'd like to to here this story. How did you gain such wealth? omg Ps.I hope your health improves.

You have a beautiful home Eric, but what is most impressive, is the way your friends feel and speak about you. I hope your health improves and you can start enjoying those friendships even more.

I know Fatboy going back a long way. I remember this Rude Dog clone who used to run around with our very own, very beloved and very missed John Morton. They dressed alike (Rude Dog T-Shirts), looked alike and were pretty much inseparable. John was the player and Eric was his supporter and accomplice.

That was a good twenty years ago. Then John ran into some personal problems and Fatboy disappeared as well. Fast forward fifteen years and who shows up a tournament I'm working in L.A. but none other than Fatboy. I have a booth full of pool memorabilia and he proceeds to nearly buy me out, spending hundreds of dollars. He seems to know me but I don't remember him. Then he prods my memory with tales of John Morton and all of a sudden it comes back to me. This is John's right hand man.

Being the curious type, I asked him where he's been. He looks at me and says, "Getting rich!" Okay, sounds good to me. Over time we rekindle our relationship and I visit Eric's new pad in Vegas, and am just as floored as everybody else. Over the last few years we have done some business together, making for him what amounts to small money. For me it is how I make my income, hustling deals and jobs. A good year for me is a bad month for him.

What I have come to find out is how much Eric loves pool and the pool players. There is nothing he'd rather do then hang out in his poolroom with a couple of us and bang balls and gab about pool. He really is one of us. Like so many Eric's game is up and down. He just never set aside the time to be a top player. But he has momentary flashes of brilliance when he puts a big stroke on the ball or snaps in a long rail bank. The pleasure he gets from that shows all over his face and a few such shots can make his day. What he lacks is consistency and that can only come with years of play. I doubt that will ever happen in his lifetime, he is just too busy with too many other things.

If you do have an opportunity to hang out with Eric, by all means do. He is one of the smartest guys I know, about all manner of subjects. He has educated himself well on the ways of the world. And he has a great sense of humor to boot. God bless you Fatboy!

fwiw that's also my read on the young fella:)

When I first read the description of the house I thought it said 6500 sq ft. I'm thinking that's a big house. Looking a little closer it was 65000 sq ft  Incredible digs Eric. Hope you get to feeling better.

Fatboy
You say you haven't made a buck in a couple years? Sounds like you have enough room somewhere there to open up the worlds finest poolroom.
But I suppose zoning laws would prevent it. :sorry:
Get better.

As a Chef I must say, I could do some damage in that kitchen. Not so sure about the tables, but damn that kitchen is nice (I'm sure the tables are amazing). Diamond and a GC, wowza. Vulcan or Hobart?
