Has anyone else seen the new series of articals on CTE by Roger Long?

The only purpose was to show anyone else that had any doubt just how full of baloney the poster was. I'm a pretty old hand at the internet too, dating back to '88. I never write things in public with the thought only one person is reading it. I was quite sincere in my opinion that you are one of the finest posters on the forum when you are inclined to write a serious post though.

I was hoping Roger would join us, but I'm guessing we'll have to wait for the 2nd chapter to find out the answers to these questions. Thank you Manwon for bringing this to my attention. I've enjoyed parts of this thread and really been bummed by the continuous personal attacks that seem to go hand in hand with CTE threads. I've liked the parts about serving your country which I did years ago. The rest of it has been re-heated arguements and repeated old feuds that are ruining quite a few other threads, too.
We've answered Craig's inquiry, but has there been one post about Roger's questions yet? Or is being a keyboard gladiator the answer to all future threads on this forum?

Thanks for your post Mike, I disagree that anyone answered my question. The fact is I did not really ask a question, I only want the forum to be aware of Rogers article and nothing else. As for the rest of the personal shit that is happening, I suppose this thread is as good as any it, I mean there is nothing to ruin by it occurring it only shows that there is a great deal of interest in Rogers articles.:smile:
So what aiming system were you using when you "owned Johnny Archer"? The night he came and you beat him so badly?

The question above that deserves an answer is all about describing to this august forum how it works with unequivocal words and cogent diagrams without offers to sell it - this would end the strife.
Much of it's mechanics have been proffered, but not all - like how to adjust for different distances between the CB and OB for the same cut angle to the pocket. One poster has invested thousands of hours to master the system - a viable system shouldn't take that long.
I have tried it and I know that it works....but not always because I don't know how to adjust.:wink:

It seems I've acquired superpowers - my posts in this thread have become invisible. I'm sure it's just the AZB hall monitors making sure that nobody gets hurt. Can't be too careful.

I don't know Pat. I was just told this in private email by the thread starter:
"John the only reason I have allowed you stay in that CTE Thread concerning Roger is because you only make yourself look more foolish by the minute, and because it allow people to see you for what you really are. "
Which I guess is intended to make me think that he has some moderating power on AZ or something? I replied that the day Mike Howerton allows him to moderate AZ is the day the world ends.
Maybe the apocalypse is upon us.
Personally I didn't really think that you needed to get all contrary again over this but I didn't see your posts as overly harmful, just par for the course on this topic.

I did try the baloney method long ago. It bruised the end so I went to the store and got some pepper sausage. That worked better until somebody got whiney about getting hit in the eye with a flying peppercorn.

And as far as this thread's topic goes, you don't know anything about CTE either so why are you in it?
Please do tell us more about this "owning Johnny Archer" story. Obviously anyone who can OWN Johnny Archer must be a great player. I wish I had an "I owned a champion" story like yours to boost my street cred.
I had half ownership of a champion once. I ran out five racks against Ronnie Wiseman in a race to 11 for $300 against a case. Ronnie beat me 11:5. You can ask him about it. My stories are verifiable.
My posts were only "contrary" to the otherwise unchallenged assertion that CTE is exact. Nothing in what I said was particularly inflammatory or more than mildly critical. I have better things to do than waste my time on a forum that's arbitrarily and heavy-handedly censored by a moderator with an apparently personal bias.

I'm not sure how it happened, but I'd like to protest the removing of PJ's posts in this thread. I favor moderated forums, but he wasn't being insulting or crude, just argumentative in an intelligent way. Since when is that a crime?
I agree. I would also like to lodge a complaint against the removal of Pat's posts.
This thread was started with the idea of causing more drama. Craig Rittel knows exactly what he wanted to accomplish by posting yet another thread about CTE. The little miss innocent act is boring. The thread was created for the sole purpose of stirring the pot and has zero value to the forum, to the understanding of CTE, or to billiards in general.
The resulting drama and discussion was completely predictable yet it stayed relatively civil.

I think i've noticed Lee Van Corteza using the CTE aiming method.
Check at 2:00, his cue starts at the side of the CB then he subtly swivels it to center when he shoots.

Considering the instructions you should have deleted the thread from it's inception and taken the appropriate action against the instigator who started it.
As it was clearly designed to antagonize, and did.
You're being irrational, arbitrary and despotic (i.e., power tripping). How does my quoting JB (when I'm responding directly to what he says) violate your limits on his posts? Why didn't you explain the deletions when you made them? Did you forget that I've been "away" and might not know about your latest Commandments?
You might be a little more effective as the Politeness Police if you practiced some yourself.
Personally, I won't mind much the next time you ban me. This over-nannied forum has become nothing but a chat room where substantive discussion (yes, even with the occasional - gasp! - disparaging word) is squelched. Maybe you haven't noticed that the most informative pool posters on the Internet are largely absent from here - I think they prefer a more adult, less chaperoned environment. I know I do.
So I'll just continue to post as I see fit until you do whatever it is you think you do.
