An Over Looked Part of The Game

I read a lot of threads that are posted on this forum. I even comment on a few of them.

One of the most important parts of the game, if not the most important part of the game, is never mentioned. At least in the posts and threads that I read.

I like to do this, so I'm doing it again.

Let me know what you think I'm talking about and tomorrow, I'll let you in on my thoughts.

I'm thinking if you are fighting with the wife...or worse the ex; the IRS is about to attach your wages; you are about to get laid off from work; your car just got repo'd and you are 55 years old and your wife just got pregnant...and you two haven't done the deed in about a year....I'm thinking, that wouldn't be a great time to play.

In other words, you must be able to totally focus on each shot.

The most important aspect of pool (and life in general in my view) is it's SUPPOSED TO BE FUN! If you don't enjoy playing, why the hell do you keep doing it.

Sit back, relax, bang the balls, and HAVE FUN!

First thought: it is the STROKE

Second thought: Statistics.

Who was the 10th best pocketing player in the 90s?
Who was the Best pocketing player in the 90s?

Who has the best won-loss record (games or matches) in the US Open 9 Ball tournament?

What is Nick Varner's record against Mike Sigel? Buddy Hall? Earl Strickland?

Which players has the best record against Efren Reyes in USA tournaments? in WPA tournaments?

What player has the highest winning (matches won/maches played) record? Pocket Billiards International and USA?

IMO, Not enough statistics are kept in this game.

Not enough on the importance of position play. All I see is shot making, shot making, and more how to pocket balls with ACB, CTE, ZYZ...pick your flavor of the month. If you can get better at position and think at least 3 balls ahead your shot making will improve. Johnnyt

An overlooked part of the game

I started to write an answer to this post , then realized I would alienate 75% of the people on here if I did, see if you can guess what it was.
