Pool Hall Photos From All Over.

Some of the photos in the latter part of the thread are repeats. I guess it's time consuming to look at this entire thread, though it is pretty cool. I've added quite a few photos here: personal, borrowed, and Google'd. ;)

I wish there was a way to create a coffee table book of these pool halls from around the world. I would buy it in a heartbeat. :)

Here's Jakes Billiards and Burgers in Pasadena, CA. Not sure if it's still there anymore, but I love the concept. It reminds me of Weenie Beanie's hot dog stands in Virginia from days gone by. :D

According to the author, Antique Billiard Museum in Colorado Springs, CO is...

...a combination Pool Hall and Museum. There are over 300 photos of the Pool Greats (most of them signed) as well as some of the most interesting artifacts and very old posters (from around the world) mounted on every wall and displayed in every nook and cranny.

They also have the largest collection of Pool Cues for sale and on display that I have seen anywhere. It is one of the best places to play pool in town; well maintained equipment, helpful staff, reasonable rates and lots of parking.

The bar is well stocked and they prepare a standard deli type meal as well as the usual types of snacks you would expect in a Bar/Pool Hall.

One of the nicest things about this Pool Hall is there is plenty of room around all of the tables and lots of tables and chairs to watch from.

Hmm, here's one of the walls. If I ever get to CO, I may just have to visit this joint! ;)

Greyfriar Snooker Centre, located in Bedford, Bedfordshire United Kingdom, is tucked away in the town near the bus station. It holds regular tournaments under the name of the Bedford Pro-Arm.

Gee, check out this snooker forum, which links to this tour: The Snooker Forum.

A pool hall in Fiji? I guess it doesn't get any better than that.

There's not much to this pool hall, though, in Nadi. Two pool tables and no amenities. They do serve Kava, though.

What the heck kind of table is that? :o

It's still there and in a very trendy part of old Pasadena. Thee room is downstairs.

Wow! That is cool. Wish we had a couple of pool halls like that in D.C. area. Most pool rooms today are sports bars with loud music and alcohol. They're not what I consider a "real" pool room. :(

Now I'm getting hungry for one of those Pasadena burgers from Jake's. :grin-square:

At the Stanley Hotel, the ghosts of the the previous owners, Stanley and his wife Flora, are still reputed to haunt this spectacular hotel, located in Colorado. At times you can hear the piano playing by itself in the music room, which was Mrs. Stanley's favorite room, or you may feel the presence of Mr. Stanley in the lobby or in his favorite spot, the Billiards Room.

The Pinon Billiard Room is home to many ghosts, who appear in the mirrors of the room. Above the main staircase on the second floor, visitors and employees at the hotel have repeatedly reported ghostly presences that follow them down the corridor. The fourth floor is where the servant's quarters were, and it is not uncommon to hear the sounds of children playing in the hallway near room 418, even when there are no children staying at the hotel.

The Stanley Hotel was the inspiration for the writing of Stephen King's "The Shining." He noticed a sign in the vicinity of the hotel that said "road closed in winter, and strolled the hallways, he envisioned what it would be like to be trapped inside this massive hotel with no means of escape.

Anybody want to play a little game of ghost at the Stanley Hotel?

Hey junkbond, this is the site I found it on and they are asking if anyone knows it's location, one guy said somewhere in Kentucky he thought. Maybe you can tell them, another guy thought it was turned into a chocolate syrup factory???

I read the article at your link. The man from Kentucky, Bill Cataneo, is from San Luis. He made and sold great beef jerky. There used to be a small cafe called Chocolate Soup near where the pool hall used to be.

of course it does say san louis obispo, (town in california, home of cal-poly)...

It is San Luis Obispo, not Louis - we're very picky about that. And it's pronounced as either "Lewis" or "Louise" - never as "Louie". And, yes, my alma mater, Cal Poly is here.

In 1959 and 1960, I played pool in this place (when I could sneak in). It was called the Stag Pool Hall then. Some of the tables in that picture were still in use.

Man, I should have taken some pics of Fargo Billiards when I was there last weekend. I'll bring a camera next time, it's absolutely breathtaking.

I have stayed there on several business trips and let me tell you it felt haunted:eek:. To make things worse they had two of these cars out behind the building restored and ready for action http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Christine_(film) Although i don't remember seeing any aberrations ......there was a couple of pink elephants;).

uh, I knew that.... I grew up in the north bay, (live in the rocky mts. now...) Been almost twenty years out of CA now, and I forget some of the "particularities" of the gold staters... but I still get a little noid when folks say I am from 'frisco.... that is a town in colorado, not the beautiful city I was born in.....

so, what are the chances you or anyone you know has pictures of Buffalo Billiard up in Rohnert Park/Cotati (near sonoma state)? I remember when this room opened, and I must've spent litterally years of my life in there....
