FS: Brand New Barry Szamboti Cue

Gotta say... I don't really like the smell of this either. I have to wonder if Barry had any inkling that this cue would be "flipped" immediately. As I understand it, the same thing occured with a Tascarella.
Fact is, top makers choose who they build cues for - and when - based on what moves them to do so. But my sense is that, when they choose to build someone a cue in the "nearer" term, that decision probably has some tacit trust attached to it. That's why known "flippers" often move toward the end of the list.
Just feels like a break of faith to me and , at 55 yrs old, I can appreciate the weight of what seems to have happened here.
Just sayin'...

I find it amazing that people who are anti-flipping picked this thread to voice an opinion on. You can't count the number of posts where people found the "perfect" cue just to sell it less than a week or two later. Some might have posted in this thread.

Whatever his reasons are, it shouldn't matter to anyone. I am personally glad to see Barry build this for a more regular guy and not someone that got (cut) in line with a bag of cash.

This cue is super badass. I just love it.

no comment on anything else except that the new owner is a lucky person.

At least the guys with a bag of cash want the cues for the right reasons, and not just to make a quick buck.
Barry did John a favor building the cue for him as quickly as he did for whatever reason, but I'm sure Barry didn't think he'd flip it in 48 hours. Personally I think its cheap.

Why are all these people getting so bent out of shape?

It's not like he just sold a Sugartree that was just received.

</sarcasm>

Wasn't that a dealer who flipped the Sugartree? Dealers are expected to buy and sell at a different pace.

What influenced barry to make cue for him before time and also use everything from Gus's stock?

Really? ok. If you say so. What would that reason be? To say look at me, I got a Szamboti in 16 weeks? (16 weeks is just a random number for this excersise)

JV (----just curious to what you think the reasons are....

No one else could afford one,I know I couldn't,he Doesn't build cues for the common working man. I'm not knocking him that's just the business of it, like a Ferrari and a ford.

I feel like if you can make the profit get the cash. Is the cue going to be worth an arm and leg more in the next 10 or so years, probably not. Bulk of the value is right now. Let someone else keep it for 50 years then make close to the same profit you are making flipping it today.

Good Sale, I would have done the same thing if the price was right.

Barry Szamboti

i'm sure Barry is bothered by this. but before you all judge this action, maybe a situation has arised, that your not aware of. things happen in life and we have to make quick decisions. i hope all is well & wasn't done for a quick buck. i've wanted one for a long time, a special one made by Barry for me. Barry said he would build me one, i hope i live long enough to see it & enjoy it. when Barry says he's ready, i might have to sell a couple of the ones i have, to pay for it, but i'll get it done. i'm not going to flip new one. it would be my SHOWPIECE

Lets move on guys ......he wanted the cue from barry and his wishes came true....48 hours is enough to cheerish his dream...he hold the cue on his hand and Barry handed the cue to him personally..that he might wanted to be as his wish.....he sold the cue for the right price....we don't know the reason why he sold the cue within 48 hours. who are we to judge? ..we should be happy for him that he sold the cue so that someone can cheerish the cue for a very long time....

..I've been wanting a cue from Barry and we talked on the phone as a friend but when I asked him if I can order a cue from him, he declined me and told me he no longer accepting order from anyone....I wasn't disappointed at all...atleast I tried. life still go on  One day I'll own one of his cue..but im not hoping for the best...
