This months issue of Inside Pool features Ryan's work in the cue Makers Corner. Most of us know that Ryan's work is first class, and that the cues he builds for Mueller Recreational Products ( Rat Cues ) are a great product. I don't think that Inside Pool could have picked a more deserving individual to feature in an article, Ryan certainly deserves recognition.

Right on Ryan! Glad you brought this up Craig--thanks.

Good for you Ryan.
Ryan's work is impeccable, just in case anyone on AZ is considering a refinish or a restore on a vintage cue. He can do some pretty wild things and his prices are very down to earth.

Congrats...............Ryan:smile:
i want more jerky.......

Congrats Ryan! You deserve it. Excellent cues & repair work. Now I have to drive 70 miles to the nearest place that sells Inside Pool Mag. Ron

Congrats ryan, glad to see you getting some pub. Couldn't give a local some heads up? Here's an atta boy anyway...

Rat

That's awesome! Congrats Ryan.. you totally deserve it. You did a great job restoring my cues. Thank you.

Well said & I couldn't agree more. I steer as many customers as possible to Ryan for repairs, simply because I know it'll be flawless and more than fairly priced...and honestly...he'll do a better job than I could. Good thing he has mad lathe skills....cause word on the street is that his fishing skills are seriously lacking!

I've been building him up to anybody that'll listen for a long time. Great work and reasonaable prices. Nice piece and well deserved Ryan!

Thanks for all the kind words. I am humbled. I can't do any of it without my customers, Muellers, and this game we all love. Thanks to Fred for his patience and writing skills. Makes me sound like a pretty cool guy. ;)

<~~~Just got done with a batch of deer jerky and some dried deer that is to die for.

<~~~Sadly, I have no fish. Varney is right.:o

Congrats Ryan! If you get hungry for fish, I have a bag of nice walleye filets in the freezer for you, lol.

Congratulations, Ryan. It's nice to see your work recognized like this publicly. Hard work pays off....this is a well-deserved honor.

So happy for you Ryan. Well deserved. You are the man when it comes to cues. Your repair work is simply amazing, an your cue line is unbelievable. Good luck with your 15 minutes, Skip

It's about time I say...

Me too!!!! Unfortunately, real life often gets in the way of the moonlighting. Stupid real life.

Every cue maker has a different story. And Ryan's is as unique as they come.

For those going to the US Open in two weeks, you should be able to pick up a copy of InsidePOOL Magazine (unless all of Ryan's fans gobble them up).

Fred <~~~ better late than never

GREAT NEWS. I've been a RAT fan for many years and look forward to more great cues to come.

I had a Rat Cue that I bought from Mueller's I believe in 03. I did not know Ryan then and I never posted to any INTERNET Forums but I loved the way that cue looked. At the time I ordered the cue I thought what the hell how bad can it be, and the price was great for a Custom.

Well, when it arrived I hit some balls with the cue and loved it, mine came with two shafts and for the money in my opinion it would be impossible to buy a better cue. After I received mine I let some friends play with the cue and everyone agreed that it was a great playere and some ordered one for them selves.

Then move forward to 2005, and I start posting to INTERNET Forums for the first time guess which forum!! Yes it was AZ Billiards, and all of sudden I start seeing people post who I have never seen but have read about. One day I see a post by Ryan under his user name Rat cues, and I realized that this was the same Ratcues who had made the cue I bought from Mueller's. I talked with Ryan on line many times, and never related the above story but I have always supported Ryan's work and recommend him highly to all who will listen.

I recently gave the cue to my Brother, who is now enjoying it as much as I did and I have since built a cue for myself that I play with. However, even though I also build cues and do repair work, I always recommend Ryan's work on line, for those who have seen his restoration work or played with one of his cues I am certain you understand why.

Again Congradulations Ryan

First of all let me state emphaticly that Ryan makes a firstclass product at a fantastic price, but.....

I bought one Ryan's cues at this years SBE. As a matter of fact Troy Downey sold it to me personally. It's a wrapless Cocobolo with a maple handle. The fit and finish is superb. Look is classic and well done.

But it just dosn't hit the way I want. It seems a little to whippy in the shaft. And a little too soft a hit. I may referrule it and put a stiffer ferrule and a harder tip on it. I am in no way knocking the cue. It is a serious player. It plays very well indeed. It just does not fit my needs currently.

Let me also state I am a new player. Started in January. I'm still learning what I need to shoot well. I'm still looking for the right feel and type of cue that fits me. So please take this into account when you read this.

Ryan congratulations on the exposure. You do deserve it. I wish you all the best in the future. And despite the above paragraph, I'm a happy customer.

BTW Ryan if you see this could you tell me what kind or brand of ferrule you use?
