The Real Bartram vs. Geno The Machino

You just don't get it?

Blah blah. Blah blah. This is boring.

Geno, make up your mind. Are you in dead punch or not? Because first you say you are and you want to play "whoever I got" within a week. Then you tell Chris you should know within 30 days if you want to play or if you want to wait a couple months. It gets really confusing with you.

I've got an offer for you though. And trust me, this isn't just me posting to keep myself occupied. How about you come to Oshkosh and you play Chris "whoever I got" Bartram? It's kinda in the middle of Ohio and Minnesota so neither person is more worn out than the other. The Varsity Club now has pro cut pockets on the bar tables as well as the big tables. So how about you play a set on each? 10-ball, $5k bet. Oh, and you can get action on the side. Probably another few grand or so. And even though you're in "dead punch" right now, you can even have a couple weeks to get ready if you'd like. I know Chris would need a little time to pull himself away from donating at the poker tables so a couple weeks would probably work.

Umm, yep, that's all I got for now. Bring on the excuses!

You seen me play 2 times. Once just before I had shoulder surgery and once after I had it. About a month before I was even supposed to be trying to play.

You put me down continually on the forum here and ridicule me.

Sounds to me your a little man trying to get big.

I don't even want to be around you. Get it.

I try to enjoy life. I don't even enjoy this one bit.

Just let me and Chris work this out. If we don't play you can tell your friends I told you so.

Don't bother me anymore. I doubt if you have any money anyway from what I here.

Good bye

And for the record. I love tight pockets but I'm no different than any other player that has only 5 hours of sleep. Bigger is better under those conditions. But you probably don't understand.

How would you know how many times I've seen you play? Do you even know who I am?

As for getting big, I'm fat enough.

I'm not trying to put you down, I'm trying to state facts. I don't tell you you play bad or anything because I don't lie. You're a good player. I just think you're a touch overrated...mostly by yourself. I'm gonna refer to it as John Schmidt Syndrome.

My offer for you to come to Oshkosh and play Chris came with approval from Chris. So, wouldn't that be like working it out with Chris? Hmm...

I might not have any money. It's really hard for you to know that though since a) I don't think you have a clue as to who I am and b) nobody but myself and my wife really knows how much we have in the bank. It's really nobody's business.

And as for me not understanding when it comes to pocket size, you're probably right. I can't play a lick. But that doesn't really bother me. My world won't end if I'm not a good pool player. It's only a game, buddy.

prop bet

Here's a $50-100 prop bet for anyone on the good action list.

I bet that this game happens within the next 6 months. Here is the deal: If Gene and Chris B play a heads up match I win. If not, I ship it.

Doesn't matter what stakes, what table, what spot, etc. If they both agree to the game and play then I win.

Everyone thinks that Gene is just woofing, let's throw a sweat bet on it then!

Let me know...

Chris, I have never thought of you as a lock artist until this post, lol.

Why the talk about playing Chris when Gene could get action with local players Beau Runningen and Lee Heuwagon for 5k?

Tin, I will bet you another 100 with the above conditons Chris stated.

How does it feel.????????????

Picking on someone is not my M.O.

I don't know who you are. I don't know how well you play. I don't know how much money you have and I really don't care to be honest.

I just wanted you to understand how rediculous it is to assume so much when you really know so little about me.

How does it feel?

John Schmidt is a pretty nice guy. How do you know he thinks he's better than what he is? He plays awful good. Nice guy too and a gentleman.

So is larry nevel. I'll bet you had fun with him too but that is just hearsay again but a good friend told me this.

If you want to make a game with someone it's not a good way to go by trying to piss them off.

These guys are players and have a top gear. they know how well they can play when they are there. I know what my top gear is also. I'm not there yet but I'm working on it. We don't think we are better than what we are, we just know that top gear and what we are capable of. What's your top gear?

When a player gets there it feels like the stick is part of your arm. You shoot the cue ball and it goes exactly where you want it to go. You get down to shoot a shot and it looks so easy that it's almost impossible to miss no matter what shot it is. It almost doesn't even matter if there is a tip on the cue or if it is a house cue you are playing with. It's kind of a magical feeling.

In Beloit this last weekend I got to play in a tournament after playing 5 to 8 hours a day for a week. The tables were diamond pro cuts. Not very forgiving. I played kind of average and got put in the losers bracket in my second match. Then it happened. I was running out the racks effortlessly. The one guy I played said to me, i don't know how you got into this losers bracket. your playing better than anyone I seen today. And he was right. But could I stay there? That is what makes us a winner. if we can stay in this mode.

Finally I was playing for 3rd and 4th against Dave Coles jr. Real nice guy and owner of this room. he can play let me tell you. We're tied up 4-4 and I break the balls and have a chance to run out. I can play safe but I opted to try to slide the cue ball between the 4 and the ten to get up to the other end of the table. If I execute this difficult shot I'm on the hill. If not I might lose because I will probably get hooked.

I just barely nicked the ten and never got back to the table. The difference was about a 1/16 of an inch.

But for about 4 or five hours I felt invincable chopping down players in that losers bracket. That's where we need to get to win a tournament or a match and be totally dominant.

This is something you cannot teach but a player needs to know how to get there. The only way to know is if you have ever been there. I do and I'm sure John and larry do too.

Earl Strickland has been a punching bag for a while. Sure he gets a little emotional and alot of people pick on him and maybe sometimes he brings it on himself but you know he's been there in top gear mode.

Earl traveling around the country with John and a few other players was pretty good for pool. This is a really tough thing to do and really hard to make any money at. These guys are doing this for pool. They are trying to promote the game. Give them a break, please.

I travel around the country teaching my Perfect Aim and it's an amazing technique. Most pool players are pretty stubborn and think there is no need for this but the players that I teach are opening up their eyes to a whole new world. The good that I am doing is hard to see overall to everyone else but many of these players are quietly winning tournaments all over the world and loving it. They are playing better than they have ever played in their lives.

This is what I do. this is why I came to Oshkosh to try and teach some pool players how to aim better than they could ever imagine. This is why I was so tired. On my way to Oshkosh I was trying to keep from falling asleep.

I know that I have one of the greatest tools in the world to offer all pool players. They just have to open their eyes for a few minutes and look. The answers are all there for them to see the shots better than they could ever imagine.

But it's just not myself. There are other teachers around the country that are helping players everywhere. Randy G and his group are doing a great Job. Scott lee is traveling around the country helping players everywhere. This is Huge for pool. Stan Shuffet is one of the great teachers in the world. I hear nothing but good things continually .There are thousands of these heros around the country helping players everywhere.

The better players play, the more they want to play and compete. it sucks to suck at something. Myself and teachers around the country need to love helping players or we couldn't do what we do. The reward isn't the money because it costs too much to travel around the country. The reward is knowing how much you improved this players game. Seeing that big smile when they can see the light as Rodney Morris once said the first time he saw Perfect aim.

I'm a player and sometimes my playing gets in the way of my teaching. Someone asked me once how do you teach and then when you run into a player ,play. To be honest it is pretty tough. That day I usually can't win if the player plays well. The second day is usually mine. At least that's the way it seems to go.

One thing I have seen is many of the top players in the world are trying to do things to promote pool and make it a better place for everyone. it's not like it was years ago. The pool image is getting so much better and all players seem to be leading the way.

Anyway. I guess I said enough. I got to go excersize and then go practice all day and night.

Bottom line. If I went around insulting players and people I wouldn't be doing very many lessons. If your trying to match players up or create a game don't insult or put the player down. This might make sense to you to do this but most players won't want to have nothing to do with it.

If someone does take you up on your offer after all the fireworks your probably in trouble because they know they are the favorite in spite of all the head games and just want to shove it down your throat. But if you have nothing at stake yourself it really doesn't effect you anyway. All you have is words though all so powerful.

Once I get to where I want to go with my game, only then will I even think about coming to Oshkosh to play someone there. because after all that has been said I would really feel bad coming unprepared. I will be at the top of my game. Winning would be the only option in my mind.

Chris didn't ask for this game.. it fell in his lap. He just knows it wont happen.

I think CB is a pretty cool guy.
I sense a lot of compassion in such a competitive person.
He's easy to live with but if you want his cash....
..step up to the plate...

Machino is alright too.
He's intelligent and resourcefull in a tough business.
I think he should be 100% healthy before he takes this on.

I hope it happens and is streamed.

But someone's going to lose.
Sometimes the measure of a man is how he handles defeat.

I liked to go into action with an old blues song running in my mind...
,,,you can lose your money but don't lose your mind.....

good luck to both of you

First, John Schmidt is far from a gentleman. If you want to know more about my feelings on this subject, do some searches and you'll find out real easy.

Second, I'm not sure what you heard about Larry and I but from the way you put things I think you might be a little confused. Larry and I are friends. That's pretty well known. So wherever you were going with that, I don't really know.

Third, you asked what my top gear is. Well, it's somewhere between reverse and neutral. I said before that I can't play a lick. I'm an A player on my best day. But that's not important to me because, also like I said before, it's just a game.

Fourth, did you gamble at all in Beloit? You talk about how you almost beat someone in the tournament, but did anything else happen? Just curious.

Fifth, I don't give two shits about Perfect Aim.

And lastly, sixth. You said you're in dead punch. So exactly what is dead punch for you if it's not good enough to come to Oshkosh to play, again, "whoever I got"?

I'm not trying to talk you down or piss you off or anything. I'm just letting the general public know some facts about you and happenings that I'm aware of involving you. If they make you look bad, maybe you should be a little harder on yourself then you are on me. But it's ok, I can handle it. It won't be the first time or the last time. And I'm pretty sure I know who you got info about me from and if I'm right, that person doesn't know very much about me. I have no hard feelings towards him though and will always be cordial with him. And if it's not that person, then I wouldn't have any idea who it would be.

Geno, if you're not ready for Chris, I just got word on a warm up match for you. Come to Oshkosh and bet $2k playing John Fields. 9-ball on the big table. Play either a long race or an ahead set. Let me know.

Wow Nova! I have been out of the pool scene for sometime and probably couldn't find my way back with a tour guide. It's the same old thing. The second I get on here and read a post from you, it's you talking about everyone else you are friends with and how they will play you for whatever. Bash people and their games, talk about how x won't play y, he said she said, it never stops with you. Yet, when it comes to YOU actually doing anything related to pool you use the same cheap comp out I don't play very good or I don't have the money to play for that, or whatever, BUT I will call someone. It's NEVER you doing anything but trying to sick someone you are friends with on someone else.

You say it's just game and you don't care yet you are so passionate about how everyone plays and who is playing. Sounds like you are just trying to live your life vicariously through others that are more talented than you.

Please for the love of God, STOP TALKING till YOU do anything. Let the people that are doing the playing speak for themselves. They are all good guys, and can speak for themselves.

Bart don't be nitty take off the even and 5k part of it. Demi said play you some any kind of way for the bet. You know like everyone else knows that when he gets back to you the game will probably change a little bit, hell you could change it to bet $5001 just for a free c-note if you wanted or give up the last two or something. Demi is a good dude.

Demi is Tin Man. It's Demi Jelatis, you prob know him from the US Open that's who he is.

He just wants to bet that y'all will play some in the next 6 months. The details of how yall play make it too specific for a bet like that. That's why he can bet only that yall do play some gambling not a tourney. If he bets on the exact game that's asking to get trapped up.

Kind of like your watch line.
