Thanks to all the vets for their sacrifices! Without you, we'd all be speaking German or Japanese or Arabic right now!!!

Thanks, veterans, for all you do. Respect.

PFC Helfert, Regular U.S. Army, 356th Transportation Unit. I got my Honorable Discharge in 1972. I was fortunate to not have to serve in Vietnam as many of my buddies did. Some didn't come back either. I am saddened now as I think of two of my classmates who gave their life in that conflict. So young too.

I am very thankful for all who are serving and those who have served our country. It's not fun putting your ass on the line and you have my complete respect. I will continue to salute all soldiers I see during my travels.

I never served, but I have the utmost respect and gratitude for those that have. Thank you for all you've given to this country!

(I was draft #84 in November 1971 (18th birthday) and was going to be drafted for sure, but they ended the draft before called).

Happy Veterans Day.

Thanks again,

Dave

Happy Veterans Day

We call it Remembrance Day

Got family in the Land of the Kyber Pass.
Any time family calls,I pause with a silent prayer before I pick up the phone.
We're a family of survivors, been doing this since the 1500's that I know of.

Had an uncle in WW2 got hit by a sniper but the bullet went through a
sapling about the thickness of a pool cue before it hit him.Ended the war
for him but he lived .
Maybe this is why I have a fondness for pool cues.

Wars are so much like what they say about women...
Can't live with them - can't live without them

Thanx to all who serve...you're all stand-up

Thanks for your comments.
LOL....... I was #19. It was the only thing I ever won..... LOL
Ended up joining the Army after my Mom passed away from cancer at the age of 43. The Army was a good Home for me. I am proud to say I was in
the Service.

Jay, and many others-thanks for your service.

I, too, salute and thank servicemen and women when I see them in uniform out in the world.

On a less serious note-Jay-it is clear that you are a smart and savvy guy. How did you manage to stay under the promotion radar and muster out as PFC? Any 'up and down' stories to share? For me, one article 15, busted E-3to E-2 while in a training school.
