I wasn't trying to get lower on the rail!! I was just trying to get to the center of the table and I under cut the seven and hit it a little funny because I was nervous and the cue ball slid off the rail, if you watch the replay you will see I put my hand down in the center of the table showing where I wanted to get I got a little distracted because the crowd made noise and the ref had to reset the clock NO EXCUSES I should have took more time walked around the table one more time!! Well I am sorry to anyone and everyone who thinks its my fault!! Its hard enough to deal with as it is!! I told my team I felt responsible and they said "if you would have won that match would you have said you won us the cup" and I said no and they said WELL you didn't lose it for us were still in it and if we lose its a team loss and if we win its a team win!! I think the whole team could have played better WE ALL TRIED ARE HARDEST AND GAVE IT ARE ALL IT WAS A GREAT TEAM!! I did have one great match with Shane though!! would have been 2 great matches if I beat DAZ I would have been the only one on are team with a winning record instead I ended the cup 3-3. Again I'm sorry to anyone who thinks it my fault I'm sorry! Dennis Hatch

Only you know if you played your best, and if you did...what more can be expected of you?

Dennis.....you owe nobody an apology regarding your shot.....we all miss shots....and truth be told, I think the vast majority of AZ realizes that.....I do thinks it's classy you apologized to your team, even though you didn't have to do that either....

A few people did express what I believe to be a valid concern.....it appears you may have made a post or two to drum up some votes here and then disappeared.....people might have felt a little used, but you wouldn't have been the first.....a few times a year a new player or old great will show up to drum up support for something, and then disappear shortly thereafter, so it's nothing new.....AZ is a great family - I hope you'll try to post from time to time and share some of your valuable knowledge with this group.....I think you'll find you have a ton of fans and very few detractors....

All the best to you and yours.....

You don't have to be sorry Dennis. You did what you had to do with a lot of heart. The ones who criticize you have no idea of what they're talking about.

This Mosconi cup was on of the best I've seen, because there were to real teams with good spirit and the will to win. Thank you and your team mates for the emotion and the spectacle. Keep it up!

Sorry? You take that back! If any of the few nay-sayers could do better, I'd be surprised. It's pool, don't beat yourself up over one match. You've worked hard and I expect to see you do better in your next match-ups. Thanks for representing the U.S.(and there's a reason you were on the team) and better luck next time!

Thank you!! I type with one finger and I'm not good with computers I would like to be on here more.

You don't have to apologize to anyone. Thank you for representing the USA and giving it your all.

Next time he loses a finger!

Dennis, thanks for thinking of us, but you did what none of us could. I have no doubt you'll add the experience to your ass-kickin game and come back tougher.

I saw the shot where Rodney was scared to take, because he had just missed a ball on his last turn. It wasn't easy by any means and it had to be played just right to get shape on the next ball (like most shots). You didn't hesitate to step up when it counted and do more for your team than they could for themselves. Talk about giving your teammate some motivation to reply to something like that.

Those actions show me more about a teammate and person than words can describe. Besides, how many insane kick, jump, jump/bank shots did you make that were seemingly impossible and you made something of it?

I'm not talking Hatch up, i'm just stating the facts

Your apology doesn't do anything for me...because you don't owe anyone an apology. Noone knows the pressure you were in unless they were actually in your shoes. Great effort...I wish I was there to lend support for the US. Maybe next year I can attend.
Congrats for representing the US bro!

Dennis there is no need to apologize to anyone!!!! Just because we did not come out on top does not mean that the team did not play your hearts out. I for one hope you are on the USA team for years to come!! I thought you played very well! The people who are criticizing you have absolutely no idea what it is like to play at your level and in that environment!! Good luck at Turning Stone this weekend!!

Dennis, you do not owe anyone an apology. Quite the opposite, all of us in th U.S. owe you are thanks for representing our country.

You had a great team with great players and personalities. You entered the Cup as a team, if you would have won it, it would have been as a team and when you lost it was as a team.

Do not let any self blame linger, rather remember the event with pride in representing our country, playing the best you can under the circumstances and the enjoyment you had with your teammates.

Have a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!

We'll get-um next time!

You did great representing our country, which is a very hard thing to do because we are a country full of Monday morning quarterbacks. You did us all proud!

And it's great to know even the Pro's of your caliber still get shakey hands! :)

Thanks Dennis for taking your time to give us your take on you as a player for the Team USA. I know how playing pool is, a person just doesn't perform mistake free everytime they play the game, you gave it your best shot and that's all one can ask from a man!

I personally like your game and enjoy watching you play when I get the chance, stay upbeat about all this and keep shooting them balls in the hole like you always do!:)

Dennis, you don't have to apologize for anything. You did your best and only missed position by maybe an inch. Now you know the pressure I feel when I'm playing in my weekly pool league.
