I'm sorry

Wow, that's a pretty brazen thing to say to you. Were they insinuating that you were carrying everyone on the team? BTW, I seen everyone on both sides make some odd mistakes.

No - they implied the opposite of what you said. They said if Dennis were to lose and the team lost overall -- it wasn't his direct fault - it was the fault of the team. Conversely, if Dennis won and the team won--- it wasn't won BY Dennis specifically, the team pulled off the win (which is the correct way to view team events in general).

Hey Dennis, let it go! It was a team effort, everybody misses a shot sometime. I know there have been some detractors here, but there always will be some of them...just keep on doing your best and let go of the negativity. Thanks for your strong efforts!!
:p

no need to apologize

I wasn't trying to get lower on the rail!! I was just trying to get to the center of the table and I under cut the seven and hit it a little funny because I was nervous and the cue ball slid off the rail, if you watch the replay you will see I put my hand down in the center of the table showing where I wanted to get I got a little distracted because the crowd made noise and the ref had to reset the clock NO EXCUSES I should have took more time walked around the table one more time!! Well I am sorry to anyone and everyone who thinks its my fault!! Its hard enough to deal with as it is!! I told my team I felt responsible and they said "if you would have won that match would you have said you won us the cup" and I said no and they said WELL you didn't lose it for us were still in it and if we lose its a team loss and if we win its a team win!! I think the whole team could have played better WE ALL TRIED ARE HARDEST AND GAVE IT ARE ALL IT WAS A GREAT TEAM!! I did have one great match with Shane though!! would have been 2 great matches if I beat DAZ I would have been the only one on are team with a winning record instead I ended the cup 3-3. Again I'm sorry to anyone who thinks it my fault I'm sorry! Dennis Hatch

You dont need to say your sorry for anything! I posted before the whole team fought their a$$ off in one of the toughest environments anyone has seen. You have no need to justify your play to anyone. You fought hard a represented your country very well. keep in mind these people have never even come close to dealing with pressure like that

We all learn....

from watching you guys! We learn watching you win and we learn watching you lose. In this event, I just like to see all our (USA) players
representing this country with dignity, courage and sportsmanship...and I was and am proud to have you all representing us!

Since I'm always trying to learn..... 'next time' will you play short side?

Always a fan!!!!

Wow, I guess that was an option not thought about maybe because you would have to fall in an area instead of coming down the position line as a pro would prefer. It could have worked though !

Kudos for the first mention of this that I have seen !

Dennis:

Anyone who would knock you over your performance can't carry your jock strap anyways. Just like people who knock Tiger Woods when he plays a hole poorly---- makes no sense since he could prob spot those same people 35 strokes a round.

I think it's always good to reflect on how you could have done this or that better; however, in the end all you can do is your best.

You don't owe anyone an apology EVER. If someone criticizes you, let THEM get picked for the Mosconi Cup and do better.

Dave

thats right, Dennis will be back for the M-Cup next year i'm sure. I would be very suprised if he isnt on the team, he is a team player too. Behind the scenes his energy benefited everyone. The M-Cup has been a great thing for Dennis and a difficult one too-its all real, no phony WWE BS. Dennis is a huge asset to our team. There was no weaknesses at all on our team, we just didnt win. The break was the reason any we lost, it wasnt player. Corey played great this year-best I ever seen him play in any M-Cup. Same could be said for the whole team.

Props to Daz and his team, they played great made very few mistakes and won,

How many BCA qualifying events is Dennis going to play in? He won't get in next year as he did this year (MVP invite).

That said, we don't know how Matchroom will select the next team. With no MVP invite, will they do another vote?

If I were a US captain and had a pick, Dennis would be on the short list, no doubt. What a team playin' feiry sunofagun!

Dennis,

You're going to be the face of the Mosconi Cup for years to come, because of both your successes and this one time you struggled. The team was behind and the heat was too intense for anybody to bear.

Just remember, heroes are heroes because they win and they lose. You have done both spectacularly and people love to see you play. Who can fault you for being human?

You bring excitement to the table. Just remember that you are one of the best pool players in the world and the Hatchetman will get another chance to be the MVP - just hang in there.

Chris

I bet it sucks missing a ball for a team match rather than 1 that only affects you....ewww. I didn't see that shot but I feel your pain!
The only thing I learned in school that has helped me ....is how to type :)
I'm all fingers over here ;)

I think you might want to reread what the team said to Dennis I read it wrong the first time too.

As you already know the more times you get put into a difficult situation the better you will perform. The British fans can be unnerving for sure.

You'll have many other opportunities to play perfect pool in the future. (Good luck with that :D)

I like your enthusiasm, your talent and your pool acumen. Next time you'll be better conditioned because that will be your third Mosconi Cup and besides you'll have a lot of friends rooting for you here in the states.

A few of us bangers will try to emulate some of the behavior by the British fans. We'll be auditioning for the intermission clown job after the first of the year. That one British guy really did a heck of a job between games. A large, loud and enthusiastic crowd means a great deal in sports as everyone knows and I think you can count on having that in your favor next year.

No worries. Enjoy the Turning Stone and the holidays.

Best regards,

JoeyA
