Tom Ross medical condition

Thanks Dave for taking the time to go see Tom. It is friends Like you and Dr.Dave that keeps Toms spirits up and that will fuel his recovery. Tom you have a lot of people across this world pulling for you. Get well soon.

Thanks Mr. Buddy,

But Tom has plenty of people visiting (many of my updates are from friends on facebook that can see him more often), the good Dr. & I (& a few others) happen to be the one's writing about it. I'm glad it's appreciated and we're happy to do it. Thanks for caring everyone!

Dave

This news is unbelievable to me, but I just heard that Tom may be going home in a couple days. He still will have a long way to go to be fully recovered, but he will be in his own bed - Go Tom, Go .

That's great news!

Keep the faith, a good friend had a major stroke six weeks ago and the prognosis was not good in the beginning, they did emergency surgery to relieve pressure on the brain. He is doing great these days so miracles do happen. My prayers go out to Tom, his family and friends!!

I am very happy to give an extremely positive report after visiting Tom in the hospital in Denver today:

- Tom passed his home-skills-evaluation test today, and he hopes to leave the hospital tomorrow!!!

- Tom had lunch with his girlfriend out of the hospital today!!!

- Tom was able to walk by himself (needing no cane or walker) with only a slight limp!!!

- Tom was still unable to communicate effectively vocally, but it is totally clear that his mind is as sharp as ever. He just can't get all of the words out yet. Although, the Tom I saw and heard today was so much better than the Tom I saw and heard about 2 weeks ago. He can now string some phrases and words together totally clearly. He gets stuck, and sometimes gibberish comes out; but 2 weeks ago, all vocalizations seemed like random mumbling. I was pleasantly shocked by his level of progress over the last two weeks. This bodes well for his continued recovery in this area.

- Tom was able to grip my hand firmly with his right hand!!! 2 weeks ago, he had practically no control over his right side. He's also regained feeling in most of his right side; although, he still only has slight feeling in his right arm.

- Tom's girlfriend Laura is providing angel-like support. Tom is extremely fortunate to have such a wonderful lady in his life.

I've been extremely happy this entire afternoon after seeing Tom's tremendous progress. I am much more hopeful than I honestly was previously; although he still has a long road ahead.

BTW, Tom still has his wonderful sense of humor, which I was extremely happy to see. He was able to see the humor in everything. On that note, I want to share two more things:

- I asked Tom to form the 30-degree-rule peace sign with his right hand. He tried and I told him it was completely unacceptable ... not even close to 30 degrees (it was more like 15 degrees). We both got a big laugh out of that.

- I also teased him that the word that seemed to come out of his mouth most frequently and clearly, especially when he got frustrated was: "f*ckin" ... f*ckin' this and f*ckin' that. Tom, Laura, and I all thought this was amusing, even though Tom may have also seemed a little embarrassed by it.

Regards,
Dave

This is very good news, DD. Expecting Tom to continue climbing the mountain, and I'm betting he'll make the summit. (this comes from someone who knows.)

Great news and Prayers answered.
Agreed.

I mentioned the thread to Tom again today, and he thanks you and everybody else who has been keeping him in their thoughts and prayers.

Charge him $1 every time he says that word
That's a great idea. I've already subtracted the current count from his share of the VEPS profits. :grin-square: (just kidding)

Regards,
Dave

PS: Tom, if Laura reads this to you, you better watch you mouth!

What are these VEPS sales you speak of?

Tom Playing 3 cushion at Edgies

Dr.Tom Rossman, Is well and playing in the 3 cushion tournament here at Edgies billiards in Milpitas California December 18, 2010. I was not aware he had a stroke. Take Care, Bernard

Tom Rossman aka Dr. Cue is fine and has not had a stroke.

Tom Ross of "Video Encyclopedia of Pool Shots" fame is recovering very nicely, and has just been released from the hospital, after suffering a stroke.

Dr. Dave, and everyone else who has been kind in providing updates, thank you all very much.

The recent news is extremely encouraging.

Best,
Brian kc
