I am not quite bored enough to do it but I think that if the Hong Kong Challenge/Color of Money between Earl and Efren was that format Earl wins that match simply on how that match played out.
Efren won the race to 120, but I am guessing Earl won the majoritty of races to 10 in that set.
i will do it just because i have some wires that werent quite tight enough and im OCD on recording who won each rack played on video and iv watched this and have it documented so here goes:
1st set: Earl wins 10-8
2nd set: Efren wins 10-8
3rd set: Efren wins 10-8
You messed up somewhere there. After the first two sets the total score is 18-18 when it resets. Earl led the match 28-27, so he won the third match 10-9 if set 1 and set 2 are right.
Where did you get the data to do that though? Is there a breakdown of the entire match game for game that shows who won which games in a chart format or something? I looked and could not find one.

I could be mistaken, but I'm pretty sure the breakdown is listed in the Accu-Stats catalogue (not the online one) as they have this match for sale.
Celtic this is from me watching the match and documenting it myself in a excel spreadsheet as i do with all the matches that i watch. if you would like quote and reply and i can watch it again and disect each individual race to 10 would be glad to do so as i have the time through this week.
let me tell you something about players like you...and most of the players out here today. Y'all are spoiled to death playing on todays tablesIf i could time-warp you all back to the 60's,70's and 80's and see how you like the pool tables and the conditions you had to play on back then...you'd never complain about todays pool tables...or cloth. We didn't have any simonis cloth, artemis cushions, super aramith pro balls...hell, even the tips on our cues were either elk masters or lepro's. Bar tables didn't have red circle cue balls...they had huge over sized cue balls...or were the valley magnetic never roll straight cue balls. Most of the cloth was mali...rubber backed....you'd be lucky if you could get the cue ball 4 rails around the table with a break stroke....provided you could keep the cue ball on the table.
How about playing on a 5x10 with mali thick nap cloth...with rubber backing...and dead cushions. Players back in my time had to really adapt to the equipment if you wanted to match up with someone to make some money....unlike today. We didn't even have much choice of cues either....unlike today where there's probably more cue makers out here today than there is "pro" in this game. I'd love to see any of the cry babies today have to go down to and end rail and pick up the cushion and put it back in place so they could do a long rail bank...lmao...or play some 9 ball on a bar box that has a corner pocket liner missing...and the metal corner casting has taken chunks out of the balls....but, they're still the ones on the table you have to play with...if you want the cash.

You certainly don't have to do that, we are talking alot of work there.
But Strickland goes up 28-27 at 2:40 of this video.

And if they each took a set 10-8 then that made the score 18-18 when it reset and the first guy to get to 28 won the third set, that guy was Earl.
Diamond has already changed the play of their rails, even before the last US Open....where have you been? Earl won on the new playing Diamond's in Florida, they were used in the Turning Stone...it's been talked about here on AZ...do you read as well as you type in cap letters?

Koop the disc scores are listed not individual races to 10 like it has been stated to do instead of long races to 100 broken into 3 day matches as stated above.
That is really impressingWould you like to buy my username? Seems like you deserve it more than me
Thanks for letting me know. I was wondering.someday maybe I'll be good enough to make something like this up and say, THIS IS WHAT I WANT TO PLAY, make it happen. Instead of "being on the outside, looking in". lol
The bad thing about diamonds is that they bank short, the pockets are gaffe, and it's a guessing game to get speed down, reason being is that rails are so lively! the bed cloth speed is predictable, but the rail speed is not, it's a guessing game as to have far the balls will roll off the rails at a med speed or higher. certain shots are just not available trying to play position, so then you have to go the extra rail or 2, now you have no idea how to predict rail speed! god forbid if it's humid at all!
You never have this 2 speed combination problem with gold crowns. just my opinion, you diamond supporters don't flame me! lol
So if diamond doesnt make a 10 foot table, is it a 10 foot gold crown?
OK i just read all 11 pages of this and its getting rediculous, first Earls old eyes, what is Earl like late 40's maybe 50 (I dont know) you guys act like he's 85 or something... how old were all these great straight pool players when they were winning, some pretty old
second, Earl def. has the skill to beat anyone at anytime so i dont understand why everyone is so on Shane's johnson, great player yes, I understand he won the last time they played, but haven't players (us included) played somebody and the results were onsided only to have it go the other way the next time, you're lying if you say you haven't
I am not one to stick my neck out there and disagree with probably like 1/2 of you, but anyone is beatable at anytime and I dont feel that 1 person has anyones number not from what I've seen,
also can we stop it with the Diamond table complaints....it goes back to the old saying IMO we both have to shoot on the same table dont we.
I am a fan of Earls and agree that his high gear is untouched but that still doesn't mean that things wont happen(bad rolls etc.) or someone else wont hit their high gear at the same time. is this really gonna prove who is best? I dont think shane has enough titles under his belt to be considered the best at what he does. sorry
A DICK? hmmmm, YOU are the one that keeps beating the drum about change to Diamond tables....when they've already been changed. As far as Gold Crowns go...if you like inconsistant pocket openings, inconsistant pocket angles, and inconsistant playing cushions....then go for it.
I'll tell you this for sure, had Diamond changed their rails 10 years ago to play the way they now do today...I seriously doubt Brunswick would have come out with the Gold Crown 5...as Diamond would have owned the market 10 years sooner. They're even more lucky that Diamond didn't start out 25 years ago with the rails they have today...so, as far as being a dick goes...I think you need to look in the mirror buddy...while you keep talking the same old BS!...and read some more posts about how the Pro's like the changes!
