Mosconi Cup 'Conspiracy' ????

I missed seeing the match Sherm. If Shawn was that bias while commenting, that was unprofessional.

Again, good for Nick. He has a knack for ALWAYS conducting himself in a professional manner.

And I agree with you, Earl DESERVES to be on the team, based upon his caliber of play, not even counting how patriotic he is & how he amps it up even higher at the Mosconi Cups!

Nick was extremely uncomfortable with Shawn's comments and tried to steer him back. At one time Shawn was talking about Earl in some past match misbehaving and said to Nick something like "We have to liven up our commentary somehow Nick, dont you think? Nick said "I think we should be talking about the game going on right here on this table". I may be a few words off but that was the gist and spirit of it. It was as close to a rebuke as you could get.

Good post! Kudos to Mr. Varner.

First post btw

Johnny Archer just held a second interview on the TvMike Bad Blood Stream where he answered questions from the chat for a little bit over an

hour. I asked him if he would play on the Mosconi Cup if he and Earl were

to be given an invitation. He answered that he would love to do that if Earl would be able to be a team player. He also said that he does not play the

Mosconi Cup for the money involved, so if hes not happy playing for the team, he wont. It is very important that they bring a team to the cup and

work as a team, on and off the table. He said that there were many instances were this was not the case, and it cost the team, even though

they weren't always losing when this happened. He also named another big name player on the American squad who is according to JA sharing his

views on the subject Earl. I wont say his name though, as he did not say it himself.

Those were his words, not mine (though please dont quote as im a little hi). I dont really wanna say too much more or this might turn into a

Johnny bashing thread where people talk smack without seeing the interview and knowing the context, or just blindly defending Earl and

bashing everybody who doesnt share their opinion.

I can hear the laughter echoing round the Matchroom offices already.

If Earl qualifies then no amount of pressure from anyone will prevent him representing Team USA. They will just spin down the list until they find another four takers.

How do I know? Because it has happened before. In the days of the PBTA the leading lights of that Association listened to the advice of Don Mackey and tried to strongarm
Barry Hearn - Fail.

Team USA captained by C J Wiley came to London and whisked the Mosconi Cup home to Texas. Mike Massey, Roger Griffis, Dallas West, Mike Gulassey Paul Gerni and Machine Gun Lou Butera were promoted to the frontline and made a good job of it,

I am not implying that any of last year's team would refuse to play with Earl on the team. But even if a couple did take that course of action, do you imagine that great players like Mike Dechaine, Brandon Shuff wouldn't jump at the chance.

Dream On

There's a lot of unsung heroes in the American pool world who just might be able to give Team Europe a battle. Steve Moore comes to mind.

Of course, powerhouse players like Thorsten Hohmann may be playing on Team USA since he's living in the United States. The BCA likes Thorsten from what I hear.

If u loved the fact that another poster initial-capped the word country, then I find it hard to believe that u think Thorsten would ever play for Team USA in

the Mosconi Cup. Not that Thorsten disrespects the US Team, but I find it hard to believe he would do that being born and brought up in Germany.

As far as shawn, i talked to him a few times over the weekend, and the 2 players he was talking about were somebody other than johnny and himself.

Putnam was explicit during the broadcast in saying that it was 9 or 10 players who had decided they would refuse to play on the Mosconi Cup team if Earl played, and that he was one of them.

You gotta know the forum history to understand that one.

"America, F*ck Yeah!"

So sad. Even faced with the truth, the blind faith and support for Earl is astounding. This guy can do whatever he wants ? Just because he plays well ? Ever heard of team chemistry ? How would you like to be the guy that has to play Ralf after Earl nearly took his arm off ? What do you say ? I'm sorry, my teammate is a jerk ? Or do you say "America, F*ck Yeah!" ?

Cmon people this is ridiculous.

If you listened to the stream, you should have noticed that what little vulgarity Earl uttered was quite mild in comparison to Johnny. Last night Archer was talking to someone (I assume to his lackey, Putnam) about how wonderful "F*cking Bonus Ball is..." and how "We're gonna F*cking call them all out for big money...". These are but two examples of several similar comments

None of us are perfect but at least Earl is genuine. He says what he believes, right or wrong. I'm not certain that the unctuous Mr. Archer is quite the gentleman that he appears to be when he knows he's on camera.

As i said, i was talking to him face to face. I didn't hear the stream as i was there. He doesn't hide the fact that he doesn't want earl on the team, and i didn't mean to imply that he did. He did however tell me what i already put in my previous post, it is what it is.

During the live stream today Shawn Putnam mentioned "9-10 American players have got together and have voted not to play if Earl makes the team"QUOTE]

I think it would be tremendous if Earl was the only player representing the USA and wiped the floor up with all of Team Europe.

How about making Earl captain and let him also choose the other four players on his team.
Who do you think that they might be?

Just please remember that my fellow North Carolinian (Earl) has the absolute best winning percentage of any Mosconi Cup player ever, Go Earl it's time for US Open number six buddy.-- I have seen him win three times at the Open live and am ready for another.--Leonard
