This is not easy

I may be wrong, but I think their latest squabble was a disagreement on how the Fatboy tourney was ran at the DCC this year.

Just in case anyone is trying to put some sort of perspective on the post he made.

But what the hell do I know.. this forum is hard to keep up with:D

Personally, if someone makes a out of line comment, I always like to see them own up to it. Sure there are going to be a bunch of " your a standup guy", "takes a man to do that" kind of responses, but hey.... what can you do? All you can do is apologize and let the chips fall as they will.

While I'm here... as some of you might know, little things bug me (not my fault, just the way I'm wired:)) and over used pool terms usually chaff my britches.

you know the type.... how many "packs" did he run? He got a 2 pack. Did you see that 3 pack? or the "double dip"... he's got to double dip him. Was that double dip? He double dipped him.

or the word "sick" in poker, or ........................

I have to add another one now. The term "Biz" or "Business". Anything used too often starts to grind on me. Don't anyone take it personal, it's my issue:sorry:

I never share the biz. I don't put someone's biz out on the street. I wonder if there was any business going on? I know someones business but I'm not going to give it up.

So anyways.. props to Jay for doing something that is hard to do. Many people don't even bother. Some do it for brownie points knowing they'll get the kudo's. Some others do it because it nags at them. Some do it because they know it's the right thing to do, in order to fix things.

Jay had little option

Jay is a man of character and some reputation so regardless of what apologies he issued in private he had little option but to come on here, hopefully cross posted in the action room too, and disavow any implication from his earlier post that he had knowledge that business was being done or might be done.

Having said that, I always think betting the rail is a risky idea when there is a lot more money on the rail than in the middle. Just an old pool adage regardless of who is playing.

Hu

The only time you know for certain the game is legit is when it's your money in the middle and you are playing. The rail is always risky.

I guess "fatboy" has never heard the saying "it takes a big man to admit his mistakes".

Yes, it does. But it is rule #1 that you don't knock someones action saying it's "business" unless you know 100% that it's true. Doing it on a hunch is bad business in itself. IMO Jay lets his emotions and distaste for someone clouds his judgement and types before he really thinks. It happens to a lot of us, me included. Jay has done this twice now that I know of and he has done the right thing and apologized each time.

I have to make a public apology to Scott Frost and yes Dippy on here, because of something I said a couple of months ago on a thread about them. I told people to be careful about betting on their impending match, as if there might be some form of collusion. I was wrong and for that I apologize.

Scott is my friend and I damaged our friendship by saying what I did. He has forgiven me already but my conscience still bothers me. I put it on here so I feel I must also apologize here. I don't have any relationship with Dippy and prefer it that way, but I was still wrong to say what I did.

These two may play again soon in Vegas. My only comment is that to win Scott must once again outrun the nuts . He's done it twice already, so who knows, maybe he can do it one more time.

Was it appropriate in your sincere apology to emphasize not -wanting a relationship-with the Dipster?

Who gives a shit? I'm just trying to figure out how to raise the prices on my bounty hunting fees like you. I mean I get the 375 ml bottle of goose and one slice of pizza and have to drink tap water. Damnit Saw....

Hi Jay, I doubt there is anyone here on AZ that can say that we have never
blurted out something at the wrong time, or said something inappropriate to others. If only we had the ability to grab those words and put them back where they came from eh?

The most important, and sometimes hardest thing, is to make it right afterward. You certainly did that.

No shame in being human.

I make mistakes all the time, and I learn from them. the moment of pain is the moment of growth.

Jay,

Jalo is beautiful wow!!! she is bigger than I thought, time sure is going by fast. I met this guy A friend of John Mars (Marsman) is 85 and he said "wait until your my age and wee how fast time goes. He is in better shape than we are. nice guy, thats a good lession-awalys stop and smell the flowers.

I'm really happy for you and your family in the PI. Someday I hope I can get there.

We're pool players, we Always learn from our mistakes, and they are our teachers.
You and I Jay have been around this game soooooo long that we too at times have ''knee jerk'' reactions that were formed by years of ''been there seen that'' syndrome, similar to the mfg. when another great idea seems to surface.
Go out and burn some rubber in your truck and say Hi to your wonderful nephew and niece.

Happy Fathers Day, it's just around the corner.

I have never met Jay and wasn't even aware that he had said anything stupid. But, I'm thinking if his apology is sincere then the only way I could forgive him is, in my best Bob Barker's announcer's voice, "An all expense paid vacation to Disney World for one week".

Thank you Jay. I will be waiting for the mail.
