Is it really necessary???

I just counted no less than 14 posts by the same person on one page.. Is it really necessary to post everything in the closet all at once? I know I would appreciate having my cue on the first or second page for more than an hour.. There are alot of guys on this forum that are trying to sell something for a multitude of reasons.. Including the need for money to pay bills! I personally try to be considerate of the rest of you guys when I post, bump, or inject my opinion on another guys thread..Just sayin......Oh yea, I have a 2x4 Burgundy Eel skin It's George for sale also...Case is SOLD!

Yep, I know what you're talking about...it is getting kinda tiresome. I would think this would turn some AZer's off?

Nice case BTW...love those "It's George" cases.

The truth is that the items truly priced to sell are usully sold
in very few posts...

Now those who love mental masterbation re-post or bump their
over priced item many many many times.

Yep. It is to the point where I log on see the flood of threads and log off. I politely asked the guy to just list his threads on one and just bump that. He replied not his fault AZ lets him do it.

Great case. Trying to talk myself into having a case with no pockets. I think i just carry too much crap. I need to simplify gadgets.

GL with sale...and keeping it ahead of the flood.

Yeah, it is a little frustrating. I'm not saying that someone shouldn't have multiple threads, but I think turning 15 threads into 3-5 would help display consideration for others in the forum. If you don't want to edit the thread, maybe you could just make a new thread that merges them together and let the old ones die. I missed out on a deal the other day because I went straight to the older pages in an effort to bypass all the threads that have safely etched themselves into my permanent memory. haha! Seriously though -this is an awesome place that I get excited to visit whenever I get the chance.

Just use the report post function. If someone is being obnoxious with the bumps then report the posts. Mods HATE to get a bunch of notifications and will shut down the offender quickly.

And, nice case, that's a George I would like to own. I need to find some of that eel print leather and try some GTFs with it. $275 is a good price IMO.

I do the exact same thing, the minute I see the same name filling the first page. I literally log off or go straight to page 3, then log off. I used to regularly be in AZB looking around but not lately because of this "flooding".

Never seen an Eel Skin case before, very nice! GL with your sale!

I wish there was a way to put his threads on ignore and not just the individual posts. I feel sorry for the other members who have threads in between that pile of crap.

Yes and he will also put threads up saying to look out for some more cues coming up for sale.. The thread has nothing for sale in it! Frustrating..

The first part is the stone cold truth....... and the second is pretty damn funny :D Here's a free bump for a great case. Hopefully by keeping this on page one the "mad bumper" sees it and considers a better way to approach his sales technique.

There should be a 'one bump per day' rule in place for a week, then one bump every other day for a week, and so one. Or a maximum number of bumps allowed, say 10, then the thread gets closed.

First, I like the poster personally, and I know that he has been through a lot lately. So have many others, myself included.

At that time, the poster had 20 threads on page 1...I PMed him and asked him if he realized that he had 20 threads going and told him that, through personal experience, I had found that if you had more than 2-3 threads, people tend to ignore you...just too much info to digest and decide on which one that they had interest in.

I personally limit my threads to 2-3 max now, and if they don't sell in a relatively short time, I create 1 single thread that contains the old links, so I don't take up too much space.

Hopefully, he will consolidate the threads and not feel the wraith of Mr. Wilson.

BTW, very nice George case, Dan...GLWS.

He's a busy boy.
Must be a lot of work to bump 50-threads a day, respond to PM's, and post advanced warnings about more used production cues.
He just takes up the whole front page, I can't even tell what he's selling half of the time.
It's like the AZ fkea market.

Very nice It's George case.
I had the same case in gray and sold it to a friend that uses it every day.

no need for a multitude of rules.....

Maybe some common sense and courtesy of others will prevail here.....hopefully no need to involve Wilson.

I like your recommendation, and I also wish that for courtesy sake the poster in question reads and abides.

If enough people give those who would abuse the forum "bad reps" maybe the OP who get the message!

It seems to me the Wanted/For Sale section here at AZB has gotten out of hand. I frequent another forum (non-billiard related) that had the same issues that are taking place here. They implemented some rules (posted below) that have greatly improved their for sale section.

Again, these are just suggestions that have greatly improved a similar section in another forum. It is obviously up to the mods here to make changes or leave things the way they are.

1. You must have 75 posts to create a new Ad in the Wanted/For Sale Forum or become an AZ Club Member.
2. Must have a sale price. Sellers must combine their Ads and cannot post new Ads unless their previous Ad is Closed or deleted. All For Sale Items must be combined/listed in One Ad.
3. Must have Photos. Small or blurry images in your Ad may cause it to be removed without warning.
4. All WTB posts are locked. Replies should be sent by PM or Email.
5. Members must close your own AD once the item(s) is sold, traded or no longer available.
6. Bumping Rules:

* Posts are sorted by Date of Topic Creation… additional posts will not bump thread to the top
* Sellers must combine their Ads and cannot post new Ads unless their previous Ad is Closed or deleted.
* Repeated improper Re-posting of Ads can warrant suspension of forum rights.

7. No negative comments regarding sellers asking prices.

How about the political trash that is spewing forth in greater and greater numbers? Hitting new this morning brought up 4-5 LWW posts and others. I almost had to hit the second page to find 'Wanted for sale'. Couldn't the mods make political posts less obnoxious and prevalent?

Very nice suggestion from Jamie!

But someone might have to control the 75 post count limit to post an AD. Some new desperate sellers might just end up spamming junk in other people's thread to reach the limit. You can't expect the mods to be constantly on the hunt for these spammers too... Life's already tough as it is :D

For the issue of bumping, maybe the system can go in such a way that the thread doesn't move to the top but new posts/ bumps on that thread will just have the thread title in the interface menu rebolded.

Otherwise, really liked the idea, seems practical and we'll all have a much cleaner interface to access.

Really love the case btw. One of the better looking & better maintained It's george cases I've ever seen!
