Sales / Wanted rules Update

That's not the AZ plan. That's your plan. The new rule is I no longer post cues I have for sale on eBay here in the AZ For Sale section. That's the ACTUAL rule. Wilson wasn't floating an idea or asking for member's feedback, he was setting the new AZ For Sale section rule.

Thanks

Kevin

I realize that Kevin. I just made a suggestion to try and help those members who choose to list their cues on eBay but would still like to have the extra exposure of posting a link here on AZ.
I know that Mr. Wilson and Mike will make rules as they see fit. In most cases I agree with the way the forum is run but sometimes just a suggestion could help them consider something they may not have thought of. That's the reason I mentioned it. Would you rather be completely banned from posting your links here, or would it be better if you could but had to do it in a different area of the forum?
Maybe it's me, but I would rather have some additional exposure rather than none at all.

I will ask Mike about the raffle section.

However, posting eBay links in the sales area doesn't help us here.

Some 70% of the cues I sell on eBay go to AZ members, so I guess it depends on which "us" you are referring to here.

Thanks

Kevin

Can you put them in your signature? That's what I do when I have a case for sale that I want to promote. Then every post you make contains your links and doesn't violate the rules.

I am not upset too much by the no listing from Ebay (although I did always love to see Kvinbrwr's Tad/Gina offerings) . My recent thread for the Predator SE-16 on Ebay was deleted. I had only listed it on Ebay after offering it here with little/no interest.

I MUCH prefer to sell/offer on AZB than of Ebay or any other site...I have always tried to list only custom cues (with the exclusion of higher quality/cost production cues like Predator, Schon, Mezz) on AZB, and all other production cues on Ebay.

I will certainly abide by the rules, like them or not. None of the new rules would have become necessary had not the system been abused by a few who went far over-board.

Thanks,
Joe

You would think it would be about being exposed to what's available. Right now there's a camera listed on page one in trade for a cue, by the new rules that's allowed. Really in the first 5 pages right now how many for sale threads are pointing to an eBay auction? Is that REALLY what's clogging up the For Sale section?

Please

Thanks

Kevin

PS: I sent you an eMail on that Szam blank Palmer.

No, what's really clogging this forum is YOUR whining about a rule that will end the abuse of this forum! No one is stopping you from posting links to your ebay ads in the main forum...but if you are not selling an item HERE, than I agree...you should not post it here!
I will say this, when ebay starts posting links for items selling exclusively in AZ, then maybe it would be ok to reciprocate.

I agree, I rarely put stuff on Ebay that is billiard related but sometimes it does not move here but people might be interested buying through Ebay and getting a bargain on it. I guess maybe changing the Raffle Section to a Raffle/Auction Section might be the best idea.

Much thanks El Kabonger

Sorry I had to do it this way but now that I have your attention:

We have edited the rules to include sales that are from an outside source, meaning eBay or other auction / raffles.

There are so many people here trying to sell their stuff that we can't justify a link to eBay pushing their sale down the list.

There have also been alot more people asking "who made this" and "what is it worth". These are not supposed to be in the sales area period.

We need to tighten this up out of respect for the sellers here.

If your post is missing, hopefully this will explain why.

Rules for posting in our wanted / sales area.

I had posted about a cues authinticity of an auctioned TS Cue and woundered why it disappeared. I figured don't even ask. Best to forget it.
Thank you,
Respectfully,
Nick Serdula

Some collectors would rather not have the prices they paid for their items plastered all over the internet. Sellers that try to please those collectors and attract their business try to do business in a way that works for their buyers. Are you saying that in your opinion its OK for me to post by eBay auctions is the gallery section? Have you checked with Wilson on that?

Thanks

Kevin

No, I haven't checked with him on that and I never said to link your auctions in the gallery. I said mention that the item is on eBay in your header. It's not breaking any rules. Once it's on eBay it's NOT for sale here anymore but you could show it off in the Gallery and mention it's on eBay without providing a link.
As far as collectors not having what they paid for a cue publicized......it wouldn't be. Just because you bought a cue somebody was asking 20k for doesn't mean you paid that. Posting a price would eliminate hidden bidding wars, agreed sales that get reneged on because someone else made a better offer, etc.

I wish it went without having to be said...but you guys understand that we are doing our best to satisfy as many people as possible......and that there is absolutely ZERO possibility of satisfying every last poster on AZB.

Right?

We are listening to your suggestions. That doesn't mean we can make a provision for all of them though.

I don't know John. That is a great idea and I'll look into it, but my first reaction is negative, I'm not that much of a "get around the rules" guy. I'm more of a transparent, straight forward guy, but we will see.

Its funny, we've got guys demanding their "rights" to see the prices of big cues they aren't really buyers for. Hey, I get it, I'm curious as to what a fancy Gus is worth too. Because of my exposure and success on eBay and AZ, I've had several guys consign me big cues (for example the last 2 Balabushkas I sold on eBay) which I sold in a transparent environment and everybody could see what those cues REALLY sell for. AZ has decided that's not good for "us".

I sold a Burton Spain EOL cue on eBay and the thread here on that sale turned into a tribute to Burton and Joel that was touching and super informative.

I showed you the thread (in the For Sale section) from when I sold the Gus on eBay for 55K. Again, highly entertaining and informative with all the big cues guys being heard.

Those threads - bad

The 200th bump of the 3rd thread on some trashed Viking window cue - good.

Thanks

Kevin

I know that Kevin. I don't think you're thinking clearly because you are so upset by the new rule.
If they allow you to post them in another section, you won't be. Understand?

Are you saying is OK with the mods for me to post links to my ebay cue auctions in the Main Forum?

May I hear from Mr Wilson on this?

Thanks

Then why not list them here for sale rather than spend all the additional money on listing fees, final value fees, and Paypal fees?

You would think it would be a no brainer.

Dave is posting here. I'm quite anxious to hear what section I'm allowed to point to my eBay cue auctions in. The mods have decided that there will be no eBay auction links in the For Sale section. Several people (not mods) have suggested what sections they think I could post auction links in. I'm glad to comply with whatever the rules are, but it doesn't make any sense to me that that same mods that decided that eBay auctions for cues were not appropriate in their For Sale section would decide that they are appropriate in Gallery or Main Forum.

Thanks

Kevin

Kevins auctions are always good and viewed by lots. Lawman let us know he posted a tasc on ebay. Another crappy cue from someone with no I trader thats what we need more of. It's not what's posting its who's posting what. New (kevin) rule sucks now we have to go to eBay instead of clicking the link. Ps. No one selling a big cue wants everyone to know what was paid for it last it sold. Thanks

I hope you guys seriously take into consideration the Raffle/Auction section

Look like a good rule.

As far as the elitist comments about production cues etc, I would rather look at those here. I can afford them. I'll look at the ones I can't afford in the gallery.

Sorry I don't own a $40,000 cue and won't be buying any. :(

I have noticed certain sellers listing items (cues) here that they don't even have and making up stories about why they don't have pictures. Is it permissible? Those certain sellers also have multiple logins. Is that permissible?

Anyway, thanks for the heads up on the new rule.

I think we met on eBay.

When I sold the Gus on eBay, over 1000 people had it on their watch list. (Working from memory) I think the auction had in excess of 20,000 page views. The thread in the For Sale section was visited by most of the big cue collectors in the world, many of whom had some very interesting and informative things to say.

Both Balabushkas I sold recently were very popular with lively threads here on AZ and again, people could see what levels those cues actually sold for.

That type of activity is not for "us" here at AZ.

Thanks

Kevin

1)I think Az is crazy to let anyone advertise for free on this website.

2) If an item is advertised for sale on AZ, no out going link should be allowed to another for sale website.

3) Post or not post a price - up to the seller.

4) I think AZ is crazy to let anyone advertise for free on this website
