Corey has been in town for a couple of weeks. We have been playing golf in the daytime and a little pool at night. Last night he had a nice run of 229.
Enjoy

Doesnt surprise me at all. After i ran 68 on him a couple years ago in the world 14.1 then he took it off the sheet on me.Only a couple things i noticed and disagreed with this run.1st.was just laying the balls up there without any rack or template the balls broke out amazingly and i rarely saw that he ever had any clusters.Next was the fact of taking the balls off the table and waxing them up after what seemed to be after every rack was something that creates an advantage and I personally dont agree with as neither would be allowed in any tourney.I personally would never ever look at these situations to be a high run weather its 229/311/400 or 527.Polishing the balls at the beginning only or starting out with a brand new set would be ok though. All in all though Corey is a monster player and with some lessons on patterns he could be the best.
Bob: Bill and I were watching that match between you and Corey. You certainly did have your chances in that one.
I'm not sure if it was in your match or another one, but I remember one game where Corey was enamored of side pocket break shots and he kept trying to move balls over by the side pocket, even if there was a more traditional shot already available. Bill said Corey has been experimenting around on behind the rack break shots, too. Corey also had Bill run some tapes of Schmidt and fast forward to the break shots. If he brings his usual creative focus to bear, there is no telling what he might do.
Your comment about no racks. Not sure I agree. They play that way in Europe so what is the big deal. They broke up well because he hit them pretty hard. As for cleaning the balls in the middle of the game, you do have a point. However, I would rather have a high run with cleaning on video than a higher run without cleaning not on video, but that is just me from the spectator/student view of things.
