AZ Virus

Mark I also use the same thing and I also had no problem.

Do you consider that to be a good thing, or a bad thing?

Do you think there was no attempt by a virus to enter your system, or do you think your system didn't catch it?

If all these people were getting this warning from their anti-virus program, and I wasn't, I'd be worried.

Best money I ever spent. NO MORE VIRUS CRAP

not trying to start a MAC/Windows debate. Just feel safe that the only reason you are not having problems is because there aint much game in it. I was in a class with Dr. Richard Ford (A BIG TIME) antivirus guy.
http://malware.org/about/about.htm

He is a PC guy and scoffed at the old MAC commercial where the PC was sick and the MAC felt fine. I cant remember his quote exactly, but it went something like this "If I wanted to I could disable the MAC world before they woke up in the morning".

I'm not a computer tech, but I'm pretty well computer literate considering this is my generation. I've used numerous browsers and anti-virus programs. I settled on Firefox with Avast anti-virus, and haven't had a problem with anything since. I also use Spybot Search And Destroy every once in a while to sweep my computer for adware/spyware, and highly recommend that program as well.

I work in IT and consider IE with either Norton/Symantec to be one of the worst combos out there. I remembered we had to get a special update from Symantec for a virus variation that other AV had already identified and detected weeks ago.

I have Norton Internet security and IE, nothing on mine..

Is this why I couldn't log onto AZB earlier today? There were a few hours where I kept getting some "Ooops" message from Google...

Can someone who was getting the warning please let me know if it is still happening?

Mike -

As of right now, mine is not. (Running Kaspersky Internet Security 2011)

The pics you guys posted of the warning shows an Iframe script trojan. This can happen in two ways. One could be as simple as a new heuristic detection update for various virus scanners. In simple terms it is producing a false positive due to the update released on your virus scanner. Sometimes new updates over react and think any script out the normal is malicious in content.

The other would be an Iframe Injection which is a malicious script which runs inside an Iframe. This would be the worse case scenerio and would have to be verified by the people who run the site. Sometimes these can also hide in your temporary files once you visit the infected site as well. I would think this is more than likely a false positive however.

One way to avoid this is to use firefox and get the addon NOScript which blocks all scripts being run on a site unless you state otherwise.

This is what Kaspersky says was the problem...

Virus HEUR:Trojan.Script.Iframer

It hasnt blocked that virus since yesterday at 3:10 PM Eastern Time

Yes!

I use Firefox and Avast....I had a warning but successfully blocked.
I was warned not to use Chrome.

I get it blocked with Avast anti virus. It list it as a hacked web site blocked! I could not open the page on AZB yesterday. It just started this yesterday! Hello Double HemLock.
Many Regards,
Lock n Load.

As of my 1st logon today my security is saying there is a problem. I did not get this yesterday, or ever before, for that matter.

I use IE and Norton AV.

When logging on I get the audible warning tone and a message stating the unsecure portion of this website is being blocked and that this site is having a problem with their "security certificate".

I'm not a tech guy so I don't know what it all means. Is it safe to be on here?

I know yesterday the entire site was down for a few hours while the hosting was being moved. Is the new virus issue to do with that or is it just coincidental timing?

Best,
Brian kc

I do *not* get any warning. I use Google Chrome and have Trend Micro
Internet Security Pro as my virus protection.

I am not a computer guru at all, but I would venture a guess that this problem
may stem from one of the advertising banners up at the top of the forum page.

It could be that some virus protection software programs are reading it as a danger.
Again, this is just a guess. :p

I don't know if it is related to yesterday's issues, but I have a sore throat and a sinus headache.
