Rules concerns

Guys, getting a little tired of the same questions over and over.

http://forums.azbilliards.com//showthread.php?t=258830

Above are Jerry's rules. Read them.

I have dealers complaining that others are selling "new" cues.

If the seller isn't what is considered a dealer....there's your answer.

If you make all your posts in the sales area...you're probably a dealer.
If you make a living selling equipment.....you're probably a dealer.

If you have to ask me to be sure.........you're probably a dealer.

If a dealer who knows damned well what I'm talking about posts more items for sale, I will now begin giving official warnings. 3= banned.

Please, read the rules and do your best to follow them.

I've read Jerry's rules. I'm not a dealer. What are the rules or guidelines for non-dealers for "bumping" an existing sales thread?

Thanks for the clarification.
Is there any way to set this up so only the original author can bump his or her thread?
And any post by the original author should count as a bump, including "PMs replied," "lots of interest," answering questions (this can be done as an edit to the original post), etc.

If people want to play chicken, let them.

3 warnings will = ban.

Jerry is the Tom Sellick of Arizona... Detroit Tigers hat and All!
Keep up the good work fellas.

Mr. Wilson, can we make this a sticky that can have comments added?
Only reason I ask is because some for sale items get bumped down the
page very often. Thank You Higgens! or should I call you....
Mr. Robin Masters... we shall never know.

I do not think that the dealers on here who sell new stuff take you seriously.

Since the last rules were announced not much has changed, I've seen many new cues being sold outright as new, and pool related equipment....

One of the things I've learned that builds trust and respect, is that you "mean what you say and say what you mean". Point being, is that you actually follow through with what you say your going to do, which builds respect, trust, and credibility.

If you say something and mean it, but do not carry it out, then people will know you really did not mean it, and people will walk all over you.

There are definitely people that I would consider dealers putting stuff up for sale. I think it is almost impossible to truly define this gray area.

Just my thoughts.........

there are many dealers putting up used stuff alot also...
when the big rule change happened.. it seemed to me that the forum was getting a lot of law suites due to people getting ripped off.. it didnt seem to me that the problem were the dealers but more so individual sellers scamming ppl.. it is a huge grey area and things seem to be still the same..

I admit that I don't "live" on the forum as much as others, but had not heard anything regarding lawsuits other than the potential for them relative to raffles. It would be hard to understand a lawsuit against the forum, as it is simply a platform for persons to post goods for sale, trade, etc. That would be like suing the billboard company for the false advertising of a company message. Not that you couldn't sue, but the chances of winning the suit would seem almost non-existent.

Just my 2 cents!

People keep throwing more questions out there wanting clarification on this and that and it seems like they are looking for the loopholes in the system.. I think what Wilson is saying is that the rules are very clear, and there are always those that will try the system and push it to the limit..aka~Push the envelope... So don't be surprised if you choose to do this and it produces consequences.. JMO

Here's a couple sneaky bumps to the top.
Pm's answered, Thanks, Lots of offers Let's get this one sold.

if the rules are clear, then why are they not being enforced

there it is. NO NEW ITEMS

there's been several listed as NEW CUES for days and days

am i misinterpreting that???????????????

1) No sales of new items are allowed. You may post a brief description (New XXX Cue, $450) and a link to your Ebay site where the sale may take place. Photos may be posted. Ebay has buyer protection plans and has the income required to own the type of liability insurance required to host new product sales.

You're reading the rules right. But.....what's gonna happen is eventually we're gonna see more and more NEW cues being advertised as "very, very lightly played" to skirt the rules.

My question is, when someone posts to your For Sale thread, is that considered a "bump" by the moderator? I mean, we have NO control over other peoples keyboards. I do agree though with the "one bump per day by the OP" rule. But, some people are gonna get their AZB buddies to bump their thread for them.

There's always a way to "bend" the rules. And...people are gonna find them and use them.

As soon as I submitted my above post I went back to the Wanted/For Sale section and the very first thread I opened was a ********* cue that the OP said he "just got from****". Both shafts had been "played" for ONE rack each. Now......if this isn't a NEW cue (and I would consider this guy a dealer), then what qualifies one as new? On top of that, he's bumping his own thread multiple times a day with the B.S. method of "all PM's answered" or "let's get this one sold" which IMO is against the new W/FS rules.

It has to be a nightmare trying to moderate this section. It's too bad that people can't/won't just play by the rules.

The above example is just one of many I have seen like this.
