robert frost and eric densen innocent of all charges...

Please, this character is so crooked he can't see straight. He has been trying to spin this against Bill from the beginning. His girlfriend or friend tries to claim that Bill somehow deserved the cues getting stolen in the first place because he left them "lying around"? The cues were in Bill's house where he conducts his business. The cues were stolen in a break and enter.

The guy himself points fingers at Bill for what? Calling the police to retrieve his stolen property? The judge "rolled his eyes" and declared the defendants "innocent of all charges"? That doesn't happen. That's spin and BS.

We league players seem to be lining up pretty steadily against your view Robert. Maybe if we could draw the ball better or had a better relationship with Christ we'd be able to see it like you.

What you had invested? Pardon me, but I thought you took the cues as payment for a gambling debt.

You obviously won the bet therefor no money left your pocket. You invested nothing but the time it took to beat the guy that air-barrelled you.

He's an investment banker. Mostly cross-sides. lol...

Situation

What you did trying to recoup what you were out because of an air barrel was unethical at best, especially if you knew the cues were stolen.

My questions to you are:
1) Why in the hell didn't you and the other guy post up? 2,000-2,500 is a lot of money to just take someone's word of it.

2) Why didn't you just take the $1,000 reward offered, and kept your mouth shut?

3) Did you tell the Police who originally stole the cues?

What does "christianity" have to do with any of this???

This is a simple case of Guilty or Innocent.

You were proven Innocent.

Congrats!

Russ.....

Actually, Jesus recommended to settle on the way to the courthouse, rather than let the court handle it. Not sure if either party attempted this, but that would be one thing that Christianity could have had to do with this situation.

I just don't see how Mr. Frost actually "lost" anything by returning the cues. IMO, he wasn't out anything. They were won gambling in a pool match, so what it all boils down to is on the night he shot pool with the real thief, he was just basically playin' for play. If he was out any money for the costs of finding the real owner of the cues, and it cost him money to take them back, then sure, the owner should have re-imbursed him for the gas/time/trouble. I believe the original price of the finders fee would have sufficed for that purpose OR, the owner could have went and got the cues himself at his own expense.

I personally wouldn't do any business with either of these two men since I've read both threads. Luckily, I'll never have to!

love4dagame that is exactly what happened.... since he offered 1000 i didn't think it would hurt to ask for two since that was close to what i had invested...

I dont want to keep debating the main issue, because I think everyone has given their opinion....

However, two side issues are in my mind....
1) are you "invested" in a cue (or whatever) that you won while gambling?

I say, if your own money was on the line which you could have lost, then Yes, whatever you won you are "invested" in. Its not like you found it, you worked for it, and had skin in the game.

2) should you be "on notice" that a cue (or whatever) is stolen, if someone is willing to give it to you to settle a debt for 25% of its value (or if someone tries to sell it to you for 25% of its value?)

I would say Yes to this. If I owe someone $2500, and I have $11K in cues, I would not call it even by giving him the cues, but I would give him the cues to "hold" until I could come up with the $2500...

He didn't return the cues. Frost contacted Bill to sell Bill's stolen property back to him. The police confiscated the stolen property from Mr Frost and the police returned the cues to their rightful owner. I'm sure Mr Frost would like to spin this affair as if he out of the good Samaritan Christian ethics which he runs his life by, decided to drive all the way to Michigan in order to do Bill a solid favor and Bill, because he is a big meanie, blindsided him, but that's just not the way he happened. Bill offered Frost a reward for his property and Frost indicated that that reward, in Mr Frost's mind, was not enough, and demanded double. Bill called the police. Worked out pretty good for Bill and pretty bad for Frost. Oh well.

What would Jesus do? He would go for the two point conversion!

Actually the law reads that you have to willingly accept the stolen property while at the same time knowing its stolen. Since he found out it was stolen after he received it, the law doesn't apply to him. Especially since he contacted the original owner after finding out the stuff was stolen property.

that is actually the first red flag

That is actually the first red flag, frost accepted two cues worth eleven thousand dollars for a gambling debt when one cue would have been worth more than double the loss. His word he accepted, not demanded, but it doesn't really matter. How many people who are in legal possession of multiiple items are going to give up items worth over four times the gambling debt?

The judge or prosecuter or both weren't inclined to mess with this deal, probably had bigger fish to fry and little sympathy for anyone in a pool room or involved with pool. I've learned long ago that the law doesn't really give a damn what the people they see as lesser beings do to each other. The prosecuters and defense lawyers have been known to trade out too. Who knows what happened? I do know even if frost had no criminal intent and was just dumber than a box of rocks he is still very very lucky to skate. Normally a huge part of deciding if you knowingly accepted stolen property is how it came into your possession. The cues coming into frost's possession for a $7500 or $10,000 debt might pass the sniff test. Both cues coming into his possession for a $2500 bet, if that is what happened, doesn't pass the sniff test.

It doesn't even pass the sniff test from here. Again first red flag, how did it come to be that frost was given two items to cover a debt one wold have more than double covered? Any reputable witness verify that story?

Not that I really care, just seems the man thinks the entire forum user group are fools. We ain't quite as big of fools as he assumes.

I think $1000 is a hella nice reward, no matter what the cues were worth. I would have been grateful for that generous, unnecessary offer.

That's my take on it.
Personally I didn't care, and wasn't going to post, then he had to go and make that league player can't draw the ball comment,
and the always anticipated I'll play you some.
If I'm reading this thread correctly, Robert started it, we didn't.
The forum responded which is what we're here for, and now he's calling us a bunch of league player who can't draw the ball.
Saying that league players can't draw the ball, when some league players can draw the ball, could be a terminal offense on AZ.
The moderators are currently working on new general policy for stereotyping league players.

If Robert didn't like it when Bill called the cops on him, he's going to love it when I turn him in to the APA, BCA, ACS, VNEA, and TAP.

Errr, Pittsburgh in 1970 had no such system you are describing. I wonder if you've heard of graft and corruption.

NO SYMPATHY HERE for buyers or possessors of stolen goods...it is really the topic of this thread, though the original poster seems quite unaware of it. JMO

Here's my take on it:

Bill is 2 for 2 getting people that posses goods stolen from him busted by police in the same parking lot. If he offers to meet you there, go the other way.

Not so fast on the league ban.
You could get 8-10 (sessions) by the APA, and forced to be a team captain, keep score,
coach, keep an eye on all of the cues, and high 5 every time someone makes a ball.

You've learned a lot throughout this experience, and besides the obvious,
I doubt you will be making any more league player generalizations.
Let all of your Facebook friends know that it's all fun & games until the APA gets involved.
