Perhaps Shanelle would appreciate some helpful tips to help her game. AZB has some very knowledgeable people and perhaps we can make a difference.

She obviously takes the game seriously and as someone that is fortunate enough to get exposure, I for one would like to see her advance her game and reach more people. She seems to be a very classy person from my armchair.

Be coached by someone that is not there because she is hot and will do something to help her.

For as much training as she is supposed to of had, she can not execute simple shots I can teach in a week.

For her sake I am glad she in not making a living shooting pool.

I say keep working on your game and dont listen to the criticism. You are good for pool !

Good advice. I suspect she's got some pretty thick skin. She's stepping up on some pretty big stages and by all appearances handles it very well. :)

She has been coached by a pro (Charlie Williams) for years. He's no slouch on the table, and he seems to communicate ok and seems like he could coach at least reasonably well. I'm not sure what else we could offer over the internet that she hasn't already gotten.

For as long as she has been playing, it is my opinion that both her strategy and her physical execution of things are behind where they should be if she had any significant talent for the game. There isn't much you can do about talent. I'm not a hater though like some. Not every female has the talent of Allison Fisher. Yes she gets exposure because of her looks, but I wouldn't expect her to turn it down either just because she didn't "earn" it. It sucks that looks play such a large factor, but in the real world they do.

Don't play pool in high heels.

She appears to be a little on the short side. Surely the extra @ 4 inches helps her reach shots she otherwise couldn't? Maybe that advantage outweighs the disadvantages heels present?

Maybe a woman would care to chime in on this?

I'd suggest to her to be more consistent in her pre-shot routine. Sometimes she steps down into a shot and other times she's bent over and comes into the shot bent over.

Find a REAL pool coach first and foremost. Someone who doesn't have a track history of being inappropriate and cares only about your improvement. If you're partnered with a "modelling agent" who is only concerned with booking you for your looks---- you'll always play like a gorgeous D-player.

Make a real decision of what's more important--- modelling gigs or your pool game.

This is what I question, How much has Charlie actually coached her?
I she him having her as a marketing tool an nothing more.
It works.

Wow, constructive criticism, ok. (WARNING: there may be some brutal honesty included)

#1 Like KK9L said, be consistent in your pre-shot routine & come into every shot as close to the same way as possible everytime. Once this is established, it will be easier to build up the rest of your game.

#2 Improve your safety play. There is an old rule: "If you don't see the out, don't force it." Be mindful that you are just not good enough yet to run every rack, so your safety play becomes even more important.

#3 Less is more.(Keep it clean, boys) The less you move the cue ball, the less you rely on english as opposed to natural paths, the better.

My wife can dance in 6 inch heels for hours and hours...not a factor to someone who is used to wearing heels.

Other than aiming...learning speed to control whitey. This is MUCH easier said than done. Pre-shot routine comment above is another I agree with.

I say give the girl time...we all shot poorly at first. Hell, I still do..but didn't really start playing until well past my 60th birthday, so I don't expect to ever play at a high level. I just enjoy the recreation.

In an interview she talked about how she works a lot of hours and can't practice enough.

Marry me and stop working, Dan Louie can instruct.

The more I watch her play the more I think she has been pushed into a world that she is not ready for yet. She needs work on overall shot making, strategy, fundamentals but most of all she needs to get some confidence.

My observations for Shanelle
1)Stop over thinking each and every shot.I understand being cautious but
there's a point that you just have to trust yourself and shoot.

2)Coaches are fine but find only one that you feel you can relate to and stay with. With to many cooks in the kitchen is a recipe for disaster.

3)Get use to one cue and play with it.Changing cues takes time to get use to.
4)Concentrate on your game and forget about your look.Try wearing runners,No stiletto's!!!!!
5)Last and most important,HAVE FUN doing what your doing and don't get sucked into a web where others are using you as a pawn to line there own pockets and leave you looking like the schlep.

Tap, tap, tap! If CW really knew how to teach, then Shanelle would have an accurate and repeatable stroke by now. Unfortunately she does not.
