I bought this cue from him last week.
http://forums.azbilliards.com/showthread.php?t=269479

Before I paid, I specifically asked him if the butt rolled straight and he said yes. When the cue came yesterday I immediately rolled it and wobble, wobble, wobble.

Then it gets interesting.
I pm'd explaining that the butt is clearly warped and I would like a refund. Here were some of his amazing reponses verbatim.
(I know that it's not in good taste to post pm's but this has to be a exception with these crazy ass responses.)

"I'm sorry to hear that you're not happy with the cue. I never noticed any wobble that you are referring to. If I thought the cue was defective in any way, I wouldn't have sold it to you without mentioning it. The guy I got that cue from loved the cue. Several other people I play pool with really liked it too. I shot with it too for a while and never had any problems with it, other than it was heavier than I like to shoot with. It was still a good quality cue.*
Sorry but I didn't sell the cue with a refund policy."

"I never lied to you. I even tested for a wobble right after you asked me. I actually did this. There was no wobble when I tested it. Regardless of what your video might show, there was no wobble when I tested for it right after you asked me."

"The cue was sold in its "as is" condition, no refunds. Any additional work you have done on the cue would be at your expense."

"The actual value of that cue was $800, so you got over $100 discount already. I looked up the value in the "Blue Book of Pool Cues" book before I put it up for sale. The book was written about 3 or 4 years ago."

"I'm very sorry but I'm not a cue retailer. I don't offer any refunds."*

"I've bought used cues from individuals too. It's a risk you take. You save money, but you might end up getting a cue you don't like."

Just thought everyone should see how this guy does business. Quite comical-- especially his last pm

Really classless act...troy you are truly one of the best and this seller just lost all future sells...I suggest if he ever plans to sell on here again he gives you your refund now

Sorry this happened to you. It sucks that some people just don't give a crap what they send to others. It osuld to me like he never even checked it.

I recently sold a PFD to another member and I told him that the rings on one of the shafts are lifting a little but I also offered to have it refinished before I sent that shaft to him. He declined so I offered it in the future as well if he decided he ever wanted to get it refinished.
Yeah, it may cost me a few bucks to get it done but I try to treat people the way I would like to be treated. I wish everyone did business like that. It appears that your seller could learn a little common courtesy.

Unbelievable,,,,!!

This clown clearly did an egregious thing and should certainly refund your money.

Another reason why an escrow service such as Marcus, A.k.a. ''FAST_N_LOOSE " is so valuable.

Hope you get your money back soon,,,,,,,

INCOGNITO,

Don't compound DUMB with DUMBER

Make the OP (one of the straightest cue dudes around) whole or you'll find the future here very unpleasant.

think about it...

The guy is certainly a Nit, and if he thinks that his behavior is exceptive he has another thing coming. I would suggest if incognito is reading this thread that he does the right thing and refunds your money. If not he will never sell or buy another cue on this forum, there has been enough of this bullshit going on.

For anyone else reading this there is no such thing as something being sold as is, this is not eBay!!!!!

If you want to lose all credibility fast do just act in the manner incognito has done here.

I left him with some red rep, I suggest you leave a negative iTrader so people know and also the link to this thread to show what happened. Sorry to hear about it, people have some nerve and we need to out them and give them a negative iTrader.

Just wow. Where do all these tool bags come from now adays. I rightly see why they shut off the forum sales like they did at the beginning of the year.

This type of stuff is the main reason i escrow a cue when it goes over a certain price

Why

I HOPE THIS GUY FIGURES OUT THAT THIS A GREAT SITE TO BUY AND SELL AS WELL AS MEET AND CONVERSE WITH THE BEST PEOPLE IN THE SMALL WORLD OF POOL. THE FAST BUCK IS SOMETIMES EASY HOWEVER I THINK THAT A PERSON WHO TAKES THE FAST BUCK LOSSES FAR MORE THAN HE GAINS. SO FOR THE GUY WHO MADE A QUICK MISTAKE TAKE THE TIME TO THINK THIS OUT AND PLEASE DO THE RIGHT THING.

Do the right thing, give the man his money back and apologize. You'll be forgiven and you'll be able to hang out on AZ, this is the place for lovers of the game . We all screw up sometimes, make this right; you will feel better about yourself. Just do it.

What he said...........

I'm amazed at the reply.
This is not about a "refund policy", and this is not Ebay.
AZ is a place where the seller is supposed to do the right thing.
The buyer is not happy so you take the cue back and refund the money.
There is more than adequate time for ingognito to do the right thing, and if he is in to buying
and selling cues, he doesn't want to have his rep on AZ tarnished over a deal like this.

Red rep left for seller. Who will want to do business with this guy unless he reconsiders the refund!

I like how the disclaimer language suddenly popped up, even though it isn't in his ad.

Make sure you save the actual ad to your computer.

Bought a "new" shaft for a cue the other day on ebay and when it arrived, it was new, but it had the wobbles. Seller was a straight shooter, valued his 100% score, and refunded promptly. Left him accurate feedback.

Sorry for the shaft(ing)!!

Ken

Misrepresenting a product and selling it across state lines is fraud. If you asked him if the cue was straight and he said yes then he should take it back. Dispute the payment if possible and let him take it up with the payment processor.

Damn...my left hook must not be what it used to be.
I just left incognito some negative rep and he still has
green. How can someone with 195 posts and 2 iTraders
still have that many greenies? Everyone needs to hit this
a**hole with some red rep and truly stand up for Troy,
who is one of the BEST AZer's we have the pleasure of
dealing with. RED REP TO INCOGNITO...
I'm not normally one to start sh*t, but maybe there
ought to be a full-time paid visitor to people who screw
over other people...
We have Marcus who covers the escrow, maybe it's time
to hire a road player of sorts...just a random thought...
