From Shane's facebook - just now..

Im sooo not happy right now. I just booked 2100 ticket to philippine event. I already left to minneapolis and boarding to tokyo in 1hour. Now i get email saying event has been canceled. The pool world now is completely upside down!!!!!

What is pool coming too, players pay for flights and then cancel. wow so bad right now, something needs sorting out.

I think pool is something you play for fun in this day and age, if your born with a natural talent for playing pool you should be swearing at whatever god you believe in for having given you a skill you cant get rich with. You could probably make more money being a good juggler than pool player.

He also posted that Mika & Thorsten are already there. They've all lost a lot of $$$ on plane tickets & hotels with no tourney to recoup it.

I hate to sound negative but this happens everyday to people. I just hope they can get some of there losses back.

Just talked to Shane. He's going anyway, just for the vacation now. Boracay Island is as beautiful as any place on Earth and half the price! Highly recommended to all who visit the Philippines. Only a one hour flight out of Manila.

I'm trying to put together a mini tourney at my house in 2 weeks. Manny Chau, Brandon Shuff and Dennis Orcollo will be staying here. When Shane comes back I invited him to play in a four man Ten Ball mini with these three. $100 a man and I will add $400 for an $800 Winner Take All. Shane said sure, he would play. I hope I can pull this one off and make it an annual event prior to Vegas when everyone is in town. I'll keep you posted.

When you get lemons, make lemonade!

I would say "GO ANYWAY", there is tons of money to be won over there regardless of the tournament happening or not!

How would he feel if he was one of the players to travel all the way there to go 2 & Out?

If you'll make room, I'm in!

Actually, Shane makes a very nice living from playing pool...one of the very FEW Americans with a decent sponsorship...that, and he wins a lot too! :D Other than that, your observation is pretty spot on. Actually there are far fewer professional jugglers than poolplayers!

Sooooooo, any chance you can stream this live? Or at least record it and let us watch it via YouTube or something?

Sounds like it would be a fun, laidback, but still competitive night of pool.

Just let everyone know that it's being recorded for the pool playin' communities entertainment. ;)

It would be nice to hear some good woofing that's done all in fun.

I'll come up and stream it just for the hell of it Jay...

If people will agree I'll bring up my stuff and stream it. Jay doesn't live that far from me...maybe an hour or two...

Let me know...

Its too bad when someone spends that kind of money to get there. There may have been some unforeseen unfortunate circumstance that made this happen but next time they might find themselves short a few pros in the line up.

May as well have a great holiday anyway.
