Yes, I'm pretty sure she has run that in practice but the McGinnis number is from a tournament. Of course these days there are few 14.1 tournaments for anyone, let alone women, to set records in.

I believe she lives in Indiana now. I'll take Balukas, Allison, Shampo. Another name not mentioned, might be before most's time, Dorthy Wise.
I read one post that said if Balukas has kept playing she would be considered the best. Well, she DID quit playing and I think it was part her attitude that was her downfall. Nobody in pool has a better attitude or is more approachable and friendly than Allison Fisher. Her records and numbers will never be equaled and guess what........she is still doing it. I am a huge fan of Kelly Fisher also and right now she is a dominant force with plenty of years left in her. When Balukas was playing the competition was nothing like it is now for the women. Of course, this is just my opinion. I respect everyone else's also.
It stinks how the media have ignored Fisher. Her records blow away those of even Tiger Woods and some of the best of other sports put together. Her challenge was against the pressure of televised play while Ruth had to be an anomaly in a man's world of pool and billiards.
Jean's records are superior to anyone's. She won 16 straight women's professional tournaments and won the U.S. Open 7 times in a row. She was the player of the decade for both the 70's and the 80's. I don't think anyone has matched those records.
In the late 80's around here in Tampa bay, we had Bonnie Hoffman, if she would have stayed in the game, I believe she would have been every bit if not better than Allison, Karen and Mataya, she was shooting at the same level as Balukas and she was not even 18 yet.

True Johnny, Kelly has been playing very strong as of late. At her best she may have the biggest game of all. There are just so many Chinese women coming up fast. And they all play lights out! My prediction is that one day one of them will win a major open tourney. It could happen!

CJ...There is a woman from Tampa, posting on another pool forum, who claims to have thoroughly beaten John Schmidt a few years ago (but after he won the US Open). She also claims that she ran around with you (among several other top players), and that you can validate her claims to be a top female player. Her name is Kathy Keegan. Do you know this person, and can you vouch for her skill level?

Mike...Ever hear of a lady player by the name of Kathy Keegan? She claims to have gambled at Dale's place (among many other local areas), but he didn't recall her. She also says she beat John Schmidt seven games in a row, which would seemingly put her at a very high skill level. This was supposedly not long after John won the US Open. Maybe John will comment on this...

That name doesn't ring a bell with me, and I never ran with any female pool players.
I've played several of the top Ladies Players in practice and played the Battle of the Sexes on ESPN. One strength that pool has is male and female's can compete on a level playing field.
There has been many great Female Players, but WHO WAS THE BEST? And do you think they could beat the top Male players of today?
Lets not forget Loree John Jones....Super strong 14.1 player. She could shoot with the best of male players
