Update on Danny Medina

Because there have been a lot of questions I feel the need to inform everyone that Danny Medina has been admitted to hospice.
For those of you that are unaware of what hospice is, it is where someone goes to pass onto the next life in the most comfortable way possible. Danny's family is not rich, and cannot afford the funeral expenses so Melissa, Mark and I are putting together a fundraising/memorial type of tournament to be held at Felt Billiards in Englewood, Co. Please stay tuned for more information on this. Melissa will be setting up a way to do donations online for those unable to attend the tournament. This information will be provided upon the announcement of the tournament date as well. Also we are looking for anyone that has stuff they would like to donate for a raffle. If you have stuff you can donate please msg me. Also if you have any pictures with Danny from recently or back in the day and can scan them and email them please do so. Due to the short amount of time we have to work with here (we want to get the money raised before the need for the funeral) we are in a time crunch so the sooner I hear from people the better.

Thank you all very much in advance,
Brandie Rejent

p.s. I was going to add my email but there is the 5 post rule so I can't. If you would like to donate something and would like my email, again please message me.

My thoughts and prayers are with Mr. Medina and his family.

Brandie, you can feel free to pm me your email which I would be happy to post for you on this thread. I'm not sure about it, but if there is also a similar restriction on pm, you can provide it to me something like this:

john smith at whatever dot com

best of luck with your fundraising and tournament for Danny.

best,
brian kc

I hope some of the Colorado players see this and have a cue or case they would be willing to raffle off for this cause. I only have one cue and case so I'm going to donate a little cash
Come on guys step up please.

Unfortunately my mother is a similar condition and its day by day. It is a helpless feeling not to be able to help the person who is going through the anguish but it is cool to help the family.
I will try and be there if possible.

I went through this last summer with my wonderful wife and I wouldn't have made it without Hospice. They are truly Angles here on earth. All my hopes and prayers to the Medina family. God Bless

Sorry to hear this, Cuebuddy. I went through this with my dad in 2011 and had that same helpless feeling. Offering comfort to you and your family as you endure this difficult ordeal.

Though I've seen him play on occasion, I don't know Danny Medina. Wishing his family and friends better times ahead.

Brandie,

This is sad news
Keep me posted on the tournament
I have a new cue case I can donate for the raffle

Peace
Ted

A suggestion, make the tournament FUN lets not have another Tournament, this is Dino, fast, loose, and bar table, his style. How about 6 ball race to 3 bar table, dbl elim. and get it done....Today. Wouldn't take that long (unless Henry shows up;). We could send video to Danny of the finals.

Just talked with Danny, his voice sounded weak, but he's still Danny. He's at University Hospital in Denver, B Truck and Melvin are there right now.

Thank you all for your support in this cause, as soon as I find out the name of the hospice I will be sure to post it. If you have something to donate you can send it to:

We really want to make this tournament awesome for him, as of late he has been playing on the Diamond 9 ft tables and LOVED the 8 ball and 1 pocket tournaments we held once a month on them. I would love to get this all done and taped before he passes so we are looking at maybe next Saturday (Jan. 5th) so that he can watch the results. We are probably going to do 8 ball so that we can get the biggest turn out possible and of course there will be plenty of drink specials in honor of the old party days.

Okay so Danny is at University of Denver Hospital for those that were interested in calling him just ask for Danny Medina's room. Be aware that he is under medication to make him comfortable. Also, posting about the tournament in the tournament section now. Thank you again to all that are donating either cash or goods, the website with the paypal information will be up on Tues (Melissa Little is providing the paypal account).

I wouldnt wait till Tuesday to get paypal set up. You need one now why its a fresh topic on everyones mind. How bout Samm or Marc, I know Marc has paypal, you may collect a few thousand before Tuesday. Ask Samm or Marc if their paypal can be used, I know they are regulars there in that crowd as well. And very reliable.

Just would hate for you to miss any donations due to someone not being on here next week and forgetting to do it.

Wish you all the best.
