OMGWTF Disses Mike Dechaine, in style

Quit making sense.

It has no place here.

She reminds me of the bully kids that tried to make my son miserable. I spoke with their father...and made him cower like a little puppy. You have no idea the instinctual response of a man whose children are threatened.

People like her only attack those who they assume will not respond. Someday she will mess with the wrong person.

So you responded to your kids being bullied by being a bully? Making a person cower? You made the father terrified of you because of something his children did to your children? And this sets what sort of example?

How is Melinda, all 120lbs of her, bullying Mike here? He can respond if he chooses to and tell the story from his perspective which he did on here. It does hurt when you get called out for your actions and get called on your statements.

To me bullying would be repeated and sustained harassment. This is nothing more than a personal trip report, albeit a critical one. It's laced with some mean comments but also with comments that are complimentary and show some understanding of the pressure.

Unreal that anyone would consider this bullying. I'd be a little more introspective if I were the target and try to figure out what part I played in having anyone write about me like that.

I very much doubt that anyone is going to go after Melinda for what she writes in her blog. Well, I say that but then again here you are, an anonymous screen name bragging about having made someone cower in fear.

That's mildly disturbing.

a couple of random(ish) thoughts . . .

One of our country's all-time most handsome and successful baseball stars, NY Yankee Derek Jeter, put on a few extra pounds some months back as he was on limited activity due to an injury. So, what happened?

The media broke his balls with numerous candid pictures and brutal commentary. Why? Simple, there's a market for it.

Some human beings have a tendency to take a measure of enjoyment in seeing their fellow man in tough or embarrassing situations. Think rubberneckers going by a car crash or Americas Funniest Videos where the kid on the skateboard misses his jump onto the metal handrail with his crotch taking the full brunt of it. Or the guy who misses the dive with his head going <<boink>> on the diving board. And the audience erupts in laughter over these, why?...

How about the actress from Silver Linings Playbook who just the other night at the oscars tripped going up the stairs to claim her statue? Why do they keep replaying this clip on the news and entertainment shows? Because there is an audience and they are entertained by it...

Not much different are those people who feel entertained when Earl goes on full tilt. And I'm sure that there's a number of people who enjoyed watching MD squirming in his chair during the,... what was it?, oh yeah, "horsefvcking" he received from Shane.

Everyone can't be Ralf Souqet; stoic, poker-faced, both in victory *and* defeat. Beatdowns don't feel good; streamed beatdowns, I imagine, even less so.

Dorabelle, I am with you on this one as I'm a believer that two wrongs don't make a right. While MD may well have done a bad job at keeping his emotions in check, OMG went pretty wide and deep in trying to humiliate him in her response. But as Kevin astutely pointed out, this sort of thing is not atypical for blogs.

On this topic, I am in disagreement with some members here whom I consider to be my good friends. I'm glad we can all offer our opinions and, for the most part, keep it light. :)

If nothing else good comes of all this, at least we've lost our self-proclaimed "troll emeritus", Pangit.

best,

Believe it or not, I feel bad for Pangit too. I realize he stepped over the line, but there were some threads he made which were okay. Maybe he was posting while under the influence this morning. Who knows! :o

Mr. Wilson was justifed, however.

Speaking of Justified, heck, I cried when Arlo died on "Justified" this past Tuesday. :(

I heard Lee Harvey Oswald made a mean quiche Lorraine.

But at the end of the day, I believe Jack Ruby made a good decision.

Unless, of course, you were the target of the bullying.

Ask him. Mike do you feel bullied here? Do you feel in any way threatened by Melinda's review?

There is a huge difference between reviewing an experience and attacking someone on a sustained basis.

Also bullying is when an attack came without any provocation. Clearly Melinda was provoked as a paying spectator. She has every right to describe her experience and her view of Mike's demeanor.

You don't think John will play an all around with Mike D. ?

I think that they should play a true all around. For $100,000 get the BCA rule book and play every game listed.

Make it a month long match.

OMGWTF should be contracted to report on it.

I said nothing about an all around, he was talking about playing where the break is negated. But the games he came up with stil involve the break.

Why cant people just practice what they are week at instead of hating people that worked hard to get there.

JS is one of the best 14.1 players in the world, he worked his ass off to get there. Mike worked hard to get his break where it is, why should he not use it to his advantage.

your right i would never play him all around, lol read what jb cases writes its spot on.

I didn't say anything about an all around.

If he did play I would unload betting on you, that is a no brainer. The games you talked about taking away the break still involve the break so what is the difference in just playing normal.

Like I said he worked hard on his break and you can do the same thing if you wanted to.

:shocked2:

I'm so tired this week that I made a post about the infamous match between Scott Frost and Shane Van Boening, which never took place, of course. :embarrassed2:

Mike Dechaine, Shane Van Boening, Scott Frost, Jesse Bowman, Alex Pagulayan! So many good players and not enough cells in my brain to keep them straight.

I think I need to defrag my brain. Either that, or I need a good night's sleep. :boring:

All work and no play makes JAM have a difficult day. ;)

In sum, I think one thing that is kind of cool is that this publicity for Mike Dechaine will have people take notice when he walks in the building. This will be a golden opportunity to show the world what he's made of. I kind of like to think he will benefit from this.

OMGWFT should be picked up by Billards Digest or Pool & Billiards Magazine. She's relevant in today's pool world and can contribute a lot. Why not use her literary talent to do what she loves, which is obviously pool, and get paid for it, to boot!

Poor Pangit may get another chance, but I have a feeling Pangit used to be somebody else on this forum at one time, so he may just come back with a new member ID. :embarrassed2:

And say what you want, but this thread, that blog, and Mike Dechaine's match with Shane got people talking. In the end, that's what a forum should be all about, networking and exchanging ideas and enjoying pool. ;)

I agree with your assessment. The blog was immature and distasteful. The responses on this thread are high school level and less. Low class indeed.

It was hilarious and Mike had it coming. Dora why you gota hate a girls that play better then you?

This article was a turn off for some people. Thats the last thing these events need.

That particular blog got so many views at one point from being linked around facebook that it crashed for a short time. If thats the last thing TAR events need I will take all I can get.

I think its funny that OMG writes a snarky blog about Mike then people criticize her for it and promptly write snarky comments about her themselves. Irony is so awesome.

But wouldn't you have a base level of respect for the person involved in the product you enjoy? She has none for Mike and instead is being outright hurtful. Passing this blog off as some literary masterpiece is nuts. Making fun of the way someone looks? That's garbage.

He had no respect for her. He was the one who acted like a douche. I guess the name fits,

So were you just born a bad ass tough guy or did you like have to take a class or something ?

Couldn't have said it better myself, and I tried to. LOL.

Was the OMGWTF CubC match the first TAR broadcast?

One more wisecrack making fun of his name and you're heading straight to the principal's office, young man.

This is 7th grade, right?
