1. If you are on the 9th page of bumping your thread, you probably have your shit priced too high. Get a clue!

2. There has been a tremendous increase over the last few months where sellers do not include a price with the cues they are selling - they either want you to send them offers or in some instances, they request that you pm them for the price. I'm not just talking Szambotis and Bushkas where sellers may wish to protect potential buyers on a true investment; this is happening with Predators, Schons, McDermotts, Pechauers, etc., etc., etc.

If you want people to send you competing offers, maybe you should put it on eBay.

I won't open any thread that has the word "feeler" in the title. If you want to establish what a cue is worth or if there is interest (that's what feeler means, right?), post a description along with good pics right here on the Main Forum where lots of the same knowledgeable people can be found (so you don't disrupt commerce on W/FS). They will help you establish the value of your cue. **THEN**, with that info, and if you still wish to proceed, post it over on wanted/for sale for what you have just established would be the right price.

3. Scary Feet & Bad Bedding: Unless you are actually including them in the deal, either your crazy-assed, hobbit-like feet or what appears to be bedding straight out of a meth-lab hotel room, then p-l-e-a-s-e keep them out of your photos! Have mercy!

Isn't it ironic that with all of that extra meth-induced energy and all, you'd think they would get around to laundering their bedding once every few months, but they don't?

Don't get me wrong, some of the best cue deals you can make are with meth heads, you know, when they aren't looking to plunge a butcher knife into your chest.

Thanks for letting me rant. I feel better now.

Agreed

Time for sellers to realize that most every cue is worth 20-30% less than 2years ago.

Oh yeah, and they all play "lights out" of course.

Priced right, everything sells. There really aren't many buyers here of late, just alot of tire kickers mostly. So if they aren't priced right they just take up space.

I think that if customers were allowed to have actual discussions about listed cues and cue prices, instead of just an echo chamber of sellers saying "monster player!" and "monster player right back at you!" and posting reciprocal fawning bumps, the for sale forum would be a lot more dynamic.

As it is, I rarely go there because I know exactly what I'll see: all of the above, along with mostly overpriced or no posted price cues.

chicken

would you quit beating around the bush and tell us how you really feel.

got to admit you are right !!!!!!!

What if I was selling my toe jam and stained blanket and just throwing in the cue to make it all look better.

Honestly, you would think that people would put their best foot forward (pun intended) when selling something. For what it's worth I tend to immediately pass on anything that doesn't list a price or a pic.

I am somewhat surprised that no on has mentioned the constant bumping by the cue dealers. There is an annoying amount of them making nice little comments about each other's cues in order to keep each others cues on the front page. The plethora of cue comments is worthy of it's own thread, nice cue, GLWS, this will be gone quick, on and on they go to keep each other products on or near the front page. Now there is the new tact of putting pics of your for sale cue into the Cue Gallery and the WFS section at the same time. I guess the good news is that a few of them actually support AZ Forums financially..

I wish there was a cue that really played "lights out", I would be first in line to buy it. For some reason all of the cues I own seem only to play about as good as me, which is mostly not very.
If it really is the best playing cue you have ever owned, WHY ARE YOU SELLING IT????

KC, you hit it right on the head. I will NOT send a PM for a price, I just move along because it tells me he is not that interested in selling or he's priced way to high, and thus why he can't fade putting a price out there.

Also, just a tip; Always, and I mean Always inlcude the following when selling a cue; My top 10, I'm sure I missed a few....I mean, if you got a nice cue, sings it's praises.....

1. Make
2. Age
3. Condition (in percentages)
4. Weight
5. Length
6. Number of shafts
7. Original or Refinished
8. Joint type
9. Type of wood/wrap
10. Inlay material

This should be made sticky in the for sale forum.

As a tire kicker, I have zero interest if there is no price posted.
Very disappointing developments in the wanted/for sale section.
Forum policy like the 48-hour bump rule seem to be handicapping the good guys who follow the rules.
Others, like the guys who think they found a free Ebay to sell their crap, abuse the bump rule, and typically don't post prices.
I'm not a rules oriented guy, but I don't want to deal with people who are too stupid and inconsiderate to follow simple policies on this forum.

I buy some stuff from time to time on here and like mentioned above, if there is not a price, even if I'm interested, I wont ask you what you want or make an offer.

Put a picture and a price on it. not hard.

Also, I don't like that when an item is sold that the post usually has the selling/sold price edited out of it. Makes it difficult to find out what something may be worth, hence the "feeler/what's it worth threads".

I won't click on a link or send an email or make a phone call, 99 times out of a 100. If I can't see the cue and the price, I'm moving on. I'm not looking to pay retail. I'm really not looking to play price games. I'm a hunter, not a gatherer. I don't do shopping or price comparasons or wait days to make up my mind, after I've researched what I want and how much I want to spend. When the rabbit pops his head up, I shoot it.

Its probably just coincidence, but it seems like the For Sale Forum started sliding downhill about the same time the mods took over policing the activities there.

Up until that point, the member community seemed to do a pretty good job of policing the forum and getting guys to adhere to an accepted (by the community) form of behavior.

After the mods came down on from on high with their confusing and sometimes conflicting set of rules, and set themselves up as the enforcers of these rules, it seems to me it slid to where it has today.

Like I said, probably just coincidence.

Thanks

Kevin

I've been guilty of this and I'm not even a cue dealer. It's just that I have seen cues posted that were so beautiful, I couldn't help but comment on them. I have since come to realize that these comments are knocking some persons thread off of page one, so I no longer do this. I meant no harm.

I learned 1/2 of the little I know about cues in the old For Sale Forum. It used to be an open exchange of knowledge about the products by a group of guys that really knew something. Now its just guys trying to get away with something, hide something, or get around the mods rules.

Hey I don't like being asked for the BEST CASH price, only to have someone comeback and say well I have an xxx and its worth xxx and you can see pics here...

OK best cash price means best effing cash price. If I wanted your cue, I would have approached YOU. If you can't sell it for a thousand, what makes you think I can sell it for a thousand? Does it become effing magical because I own it?

Here is the deal.. if you have a cue and you cannot sell it for 1500, DO NOT OFFER IT TO ME AT THE SAME PRICE. Traders want your lowest price coupled with their highest "imaginary" retail value. If you come to me with a cue that you can't sell, know that the best I would even consider it, would be much less. Now I know why some other dealers do not trade at all.

Please factor in that now I am selling a second cue.. I will want to blow it out.

When guys make me that kind of offer I just suggest they buy my cue now and PayPal me and that will give them at least 30 days before the credit card bill comes due to sell their cue for the "fair price" they just offered it to me for.

For some reason, nobody ever takes me up on that. Go figure.

I once put in my offering for a pretty big Gina, that I was only familiar with the values on Szams, Bushkas, Martins, TADs and Ginas so I could only consider those cues in trade. I got inundated with PMs from guys looking to educate me on the value of their whatever cue so we could make a deal.
