JOHNNY ARCHER apologizes for text to Mike Dechaine

I want to apologize for the text that I sent to Mike Dechaine. As you all know, I get very emotional about my family. Things were said to my wife by Mike D. that were very out of line. I took it personal and I shouldn't have reacted the way that I did. Mike D. and I have a bad history dating back a couple of years. I have non appropriate texts from Mike D. myself, but I would NEVER take them public unlike Andrew Cleary did. I made a mistake and I will man-up and take responsibility for it. I am sorry that you wonderful fans were brought into our personal drama. I PROMISE that this type of thing will NEVER happen again. Thanks again, Johnny Archer
 
I don't know what was written in those text messages and to be honest I have no interest in knowing what you sent to Mike Dechaine. It's just non of my business...

Although I think it's a good thing that you apologized for what you did and that it's good you are taking responsibility for it rather than keeping silent I don't think that you even have to!

What you send in a text message is a thing between the one who wrote it and the one who recieved it. Simple as that. The bigger mistake was made by the guy who put it on the forum and showed it to the public. That is not only very disrespectful affront to Johnny but it can also be very harmful for pool in general. Why? The reason is quite simple: What is posted on a public forum can be seen by EVERYBODY and ALL OVER THE WORLD.

That includes potential sponsors for pool, too. Which kind of opinion do you think they have about this game seeing two of the top professionals being bad mouthed in a public forum?

What happened between Johnny Archer and Mike Dechaine is not my affair, your affair, cleary's affair or the public's affair....It's only THEIR affair...
It's nothing unusual not to get along with certain people...that's part of our everyday life...who are we to judge anyone? Let him who is without sin cast the first stone!

People make mistakes...and it's a good thing taking responsibility for it. But I don't think that Johnny Archer ows anybody of US an apology...

Oh and to make something clear:

I am not speaking for Johnny Archer or against Mike Dechaine or something like that...it was just my opinion in general...you can replace their names with any two names you want...

Just my 2 cents...
 
If Mike said something about Johnny's wife and/or family that makes a big difference to me why the text happened. Where I come from those are fighting words, not texting words. And if your old like me and can't fight anymore you pay to have it done. Johnnyt

So if someone says something you dont like about your wife or family you pay someone to assault them?

Really?

I'm as guilty as the next guy at getting fired up over some asshole talking shit but at the end of the day peoples words only have the power you let them.

That is true professionalism, it takes a real man to post his mistakes and admit to it.
I hope these two top notch guys can match up on the table and settle their personal problems before any match takes place.

I agree, no one can argue with your reasoning.....this ordeal was a very low blow, I have no idea who this cleary character is, but he advertises shane like he's his manager and it's a shame to associate the two together......if I were shane I would NOT want to be associated with this type of "bad press".....out of all the sickening things I've seen in my life this one is....I'm not going to say any more..... shame, shane and game shouldn't be mixed together. imho

It takes some balls to apologize, especially in public.

I hope this thread doesn't turn negative like the others I've read. Something tells me it will, but I hope I'm wrong.

I'd like to see you post more often JA, but reading a lot of the crap on here, I wouldn't blame you if you don't.

We've played on a few occasions before and you were always a gentleman to me, so I won't be partaking in any of the bashing.

Cleary advertises a DVD project that he is involved in. One that has put a pretty good amount of money in Shane's pocket. That project has nothing to do with this.

Nice try at deflection though.

Jonny, Don't even worry about it, More people hate Mike D then Like him, If you ask me personaly I think he is the nothing but an ass. He is not even in your class. You owe him nothing...... He has no class at all. He will never grow up, The fact that you came forth only shows that you are a class act,

Johnny and people on AZ, things were said to his wife that were (in his eyes) out of line. I TOLD HER MY THOUGHTS ABOUT THE ABP AT LAST YEARS MOSCONI CUP!!!! LMAO. But, he is going to tell you that I told his wife, how could you marry that man. HAHA. First off, I would never say that, they have beautiful children together and I am sure they are both as happy as can be, and second, that would have came out a long time ago. BTW, yesterday was the first time I heard of this insult.

As far as this little beef. Yesterday, those texts were put up here for a reason. Believe it or not, I admire what Johnny is trying to do with pool but I think some different approaches shouldn't have been made. This is why its all happening, because I voice MY OPINION as a professional player. Its pretty incredible to get messages like that because you just don't agree with something. Johnny also thinks that I wrote that starting thread in "You Johnny Lovers". Nope, not me but that was his response for something he assumed.

So Johnny, this is the first post I've made since 6-12-2013 and I would like it to be the last one on this topic. Your welcome to call me anytime. I believe if something like this is carried on, its not going to look good FOR POOL.

Johnny, I'd first like to say that as a wanna be pool player, I've looked up to you for many years. My cat, "Monster", goes by the nickname is "Johnny Acher" because of the way he arches his back and I'm just a nerd. And ya know, I've always been a fan of you. But lately, I'm having a hard time being a fan. I've asked you tough questions on here and I don't think you want to answer because you know I'm right.

You don't know me. That's fine, you don't need to. We've never spoken or met, again, I'm fine with that. But few people who talk to me in person dislike me. I'm a fun and funny guy. But I'm also the first to jump up and speak when I see bullshit. I'm a no nonsense guy and I always speak the truth. So while you may not agree with the things I say, deep down, they're gonna be hard for you to deny.

I think you're out of your element on the Internet. In this new digital world, everything is saved and its easy someone's word against them.

I honestly do apologize for posting the texts for Mike, maybe it was a bit out of line. I was expecting to get banned from AZ, but I wasn't going to be scared and not stand up for Mike, my friend. Sometimes you take one for the team. But the post was deleted and that's that.
 
It takes guts to man up to your mistakes. At least he was straight up and did not deny what he had written, that takes guts.

Posting the text messages was wrong but thankfully AZ mods had the intelligence to have them removed.

Hopefully it's time to move on and put this incident behind them.
 
That text should never have been put up here, totally out of line.
This was a beef between two guys and thats where it should have stayed, what is this , Entertainment Tonight ??
No wonder the man doesnt post here, drama queen central.
