It was a set of 10 ball on the 9 ft and a set of 8 ball on the bar table
We played 10 ball first . Justin won the first 2 games then I won 7 or 8 games in a row
Which I broke and ran a lot of those games
When I was up 6 games he hit me with some racks
He got me down to where I was up 1 game
Now I hit him with some racks he maybe won 1 more game the rest of the set

Now off to play bar table 8 ball
I broke and ran the first 3 games then this set became a grind
Back and forth back and forth for 20 hours of pool over 2 plays
Which I came out 4 games ahead in the 8 ball match
Justin is a very good player who's game and the way he acts while playing pool I respect
This match could go either way

I got to watch him allot in the early days of the Jr. Nationals at Magoos in Tulsa. John Lewis and I talked allot about Him, Gray and McMinn. Justin tho seemed to have a style and aggressive nature the others didn't have. I'm sure he coulda been one of the greats, if he chose the pool room as his full time life, but he seemed with time, to choose a different course than the rest of the herd. As a young man, his play style reminded me of the way Richie Florence played.

Way to go man. I wish I could have watched it in person, sounds like it was a dogfight on the barbox.

Dopc.

You played great in that first set no doubt Chris, your break was really on with that second ball in the side. Justin did not fold he played well you just put it on so real solid play was on display. I enjoyed watching the action thanks and good luck to both of you.

Are you playing again tonight?

Question ?

I'll jump in here from another perspective. When I first saw em swing a cue, probably 2002 or 03 at Magoo's he reminded me of a mini Efren because of the way he worked and spun whitey. This style is his own, there is no system for this type of cueing....feel + 2,000,000 pocketed balls. Other than giving it 100% every shot.

Great match...

I watched most of the entire thing. It was fun to watch and bet a few bucks. I've known Justin since he was maybe 12 or 13 years old. I made it clear to him that if he needed anything to let me know. A few minutes after the 10 ball started he asked me for my jump cue. I got it out and screwed it together and 2 or 3 people said..."what are you doing you are betting on Chris don't let him use your jump cue!" I said, "I've known him too long to tell him no." After the first night we all went to Steak N' Shake and I told Justin order whatever you want I'm buying. He had a Dr. Pepper and a bowl of Veggie soup. I told him he let me off cheap.

This is a classic example of how pool should be. Two players with heart and competitiveness grinding it out day after day. Both of them are great players and good guys. Nice friends to have in this sometimes all too treacherous pool world.

Bobby D., I can't wait to play pool again, I am going to take a little weight on the BB. And we will have soup afterwards !!!

The stick was nice of you Bobby and the Steak and Shake meal, wow that is beyond words to take him to Steak and Shake and allow him to order whatever he wanted. You could get taken to the cleaners if he orders a meal @ $4 a pop.

Oh, and the "text" about 5 hour energy. I'm telling you from the point of trying to save your youth and health. Don't go that route. That stuff tears your insides up, has the ability in lots of people to give non stop diarrhea, and foggy memory. You have too much going for you and your game to get to where you rely on those to get you up for a game.

I didn't take him there. Chris and I were eating and him and a friend came in. It's a block or so from the poolroom. Thanks for the advice.

That's good company if he reminded you of Richie. What a jam up player he was. Great shot maker with a big heart! He was right on top of the world at 9-Ball once upon a time.
