I dropped in on Ed and company to see if anyone there might want to play cheap sets.

The counter girl hands me my tray of balls and get this:

Not only are the balls gleaming (of course they are, it's Sandcastle), but in addition to the shine, they all are in numerical order with every number dead nuts center with military precision. Even the red circle cue ball has the circle perfectly centered.

what kind of obsessive monsters are they?

my kind.

That's awesome.

Whenever I bring the balls up after playing, I'll either put them in order by numbers or colors. I don't think they ever noticed though.

Sandcastle is an awesome place, last time we were there we bought the food they were serving .. It was out of this world.. Oh yeah while we were there Eferen Reyes just happened to stop in.. Lol

Well after you get off the road I will be looking for a spot.

I have always been told that when a player goes out on the road they come back 2 or more speeds better than when they left.

I have been to both Sandcastle and Castle both great rooms.

Years ago when I worked in a room, you'd put the balls back into the tray in numerical order right after you'd run them through the ball cleaner. That way, it's easy to see which trays were cleaned and which weren't.

At our community center we've got one of those combination cue-rack with shelves for the balls.

I get teased because I always put the balls away with solids on the top row, stripes on the next row (with the 9- and 10-balls at the left hand side of the row) and CB and 8-ball on the bottom row. It just makes sense to me that when I want to play 9- or 10-ball I don't have to pick balls out of a mixture.

Is it OCD? No, I'm just lazy.

I think I'd like Sandcastle.

Sounds like my kind of room. I'll have to stop in there one day and knock em around.

Glad to hear that some businesses take pride in their shop.

Also that there are others that are as OCD as myself. When our hall was still open and putting the balls back in the box. I would put the cue ball, the eight and the one in the first row. After that, it didn't matter. It was just one of my things.

Very much used to playing bar boxes now where you feel the need to scrub you hands after racking a set. Yes, no OCD, they are just that dirty that they impart a certain amount of filth on you.

Ditto on all of this! Ed is really a poolplayer's room owner! One heck of a nice guy too...no wonder you two get along so well! LOL PM kaznj (Joel)...he might come up and play you some, or invite you down to his room, which is about 30 min. from Sandcastle! Have fun, and give Ed my best wishes! On second thought, text me and I'll give you Joel's number! 773-551-7473

Dam, i thought i was the only one that had this problem.

I coach LL baseball, we have 11 players, that are numbered 1 -11 and when we are batting they sit on the bench in that order and of course they bat in numbered order also, Maybe this is the reason we only won 1 game all season!

And here I thought i was going to read about the hot counter girls Ed seems to always employ

Thank you so much for your kind words and appreciation Brian. If only 80% of our pool community was as kind and appreciative as you, we could get somewhere. Perhaps we're only 2 years away from that utopia of pool - I'm currently working on that project. ;) ;) Stay tuned and keep the faith. I believe I have the CORRECT answer - just building the capital and platform to set things off properly right now. Keep your fingers crossed and pray for ALL OF US!!! But Shhhhhhh It's a secret! :)

I would lose that 1 to 11 stuff, and if that doesn't work I would trade em all>>

Ed is a special dude. He puts 200% into the room and it shows.

He really understands that running a pool room is like working like three full time jobs.
