I want to personally thank everyone that reads and participates on the AZ Forum.

This has been an engaging year and many of the instrumental moments came directly or indirectly from interaction on this Forum through posts, threads and private messages - the interactive brainstorming was intense and sometimes even "mind boggling".....and worth every moment in retrospect.

We look at the Forum as a giant "Think Tank" of creative and experienced pool minds -representing every imaginable character, and personality that we would typically meet in a pool hall, club, or tournament setting. I have learned many things interacting with all of you, and it's been personally rewarding to have such a plethora of teachers.

The Game of pool teaches us about business, competition, society, politics, friendship, camaraderie, loyalty, economics, entertainment, history, and even geometry and physics. In one way, shape or form Pocket Billiards is connected to every aspect of a player's Life.

And Life is like the 'Pledge of Allegiance', it starts with "I", it ends with "ALL"!

'The Game is Our Teacher'

Right on, CJ, and a happy thanksgiving to you and yours. Your frequent participation in the forum this year has made it a better place.

The Turkey could have been much more than "the teacher'

Right back at you CJ!

"The Turkey is the Teacher".

The Turkey could have been more than a teacher, check this out. ;)

A popular myth (since at least the 2000s) is that founding father Thomas Jefferson favored the bald eagle as the national bird, while Benjamin Franklin favored the turkey. After the eagle was selected, Franklin allegedly named it “tom turkey” after Jefferson. However, there is no evidence that the term “tom turkey” was ever used during the lifetime of Franklin (1706-1790) or Jefferson (1743-1826). Turkey Tales

“For my own part I wish the Bald Eagle had not been chosen the Representative of our Country. He is a Bird of bad moral Character. He does not get his Living honestly.” – Benjamin Franklin, in a letter to his daughter

“I am on this account not displeased that the Figure is not known as a Bald Eagle, but looks more like a Turkey. For the Truth the Turkey is in Comparison a much more respectable Bird, and withal a true original Native of America.” – Benjamin Franklin, in a letter to his daughter Turkey Quotes

Pool a Great Reformation

'The Game is Our Teacher'

Happy Thanksgiving to all.

It is my hope that this time in Pool is looked at that The Great Reformation. I have every hope that each one of us here can contribute in some way to it. Whether that be taking the time to help someone who is less skilled than we are to get started or get better playing or if they come up with the next great idea to help the game.

I believe that value is where we should focus. When Value is Received by a player of the game. It is that Value that will bring them back. The game is not just about what can Pool do for me. You have to have something in life that you love and pool is one of the things I do. I will strive to provide Value to new players and I hope that you all each one of you will do the same and we can watch our sport grow.

Thanks, C.J., for the Thanksgiving cheer! Back atcha and to all of AzBilliards!
