2 Girls, a Mustang, and the Road

Yesterday someone told me that "Casino gambling is actually legalized theft. There is no way that you can beat the casino unless you cheat them and eventually you will be caught."

JoeyA

Hi JoeyA, what do you think about this. :-)

Nevada's largest casinos, still climbing out of the recession, suffered a combined net loss of $1.35 billion in 2013, marking the fifth straight year without an overall profit

P.S. I am working on perfecting my system for roulette, but only betting red or black. :-)

Lost my first match to Liz Lovely. Won my 2nd match hill hill against Marry Ann Starkey.

Playing tomorrow at 5:30 PM on table 1 race to 5 ten ball.

Lots of pros here. Gotta love this atmosphere.

Wish I were there, enjoyed reading your postings and keep doing what you're doing. In regard to playing the machines, have fun playing them just be careful they don't start playing you. Good luck and good night.

Sage advice! There is nothing wrong with having some fun at the slots. Like so many other things, moderation is the key..

But you, and others, are missing the whole point of legalized gambling: tax revenue. We get to pay lower taxes because of the money coming in from the lottery, casinos, liquor, cigarettes, etc.

Just remember: the lottery (and casino gambling) is a tax on people who don't understand simple math.

You really believe we pay less taxes with the state in the gambling biz?

Oregon has video machines all over this state, with suckers who can't afford to shoving money in these machines.

My property and income taxes, gas tax, registration fees, etc. are all much higher than when the state brought out the lottery.

Government is the one with a gambling addiction...

To sorta stay on topic...good luck to the girls.

Government is the one with a gambling addiction.

No low taxes in Canada. In our small city, it was the tax payers that funded the remodeling of the old train station to turn it into a Casino. Well over 42 Million.

Our Casinos are sanctioned by the Government and run by the Natives.

From what I can see, the majority or at least a lot of the casinos income is from many that are on low incomes or Welfare in the first place.

Tax payers pay the Welfare bills and their little disposable income goes into the machines.

What do you call a White Man surrounded by Indians?

A Bingo caller.

Many years ago when we had an Indian uprising, someone had spray painted on a cement wall on our Main Drag: Where are our Warriors?

Someone took a can of spray paint and painted their answer: At Bingo.

This thread has gotten blown way out of proportion. All of this because a girl put some money in a slot machine.

This is the internet. Everything gets blown out of proportion.

Government is the one with a gambling addiction...

You won't find anyone more distrustful of government than me. I think governments could spend less than half of what they spend and we'd be the better for it.

But yes, our taxes would be even higher with gambling and vice taxes.

+ Good luck to the girls!

In our Province, the Gov has set up Gambling Hot Lines and Addiction Services to
help the people that totally FKed their lives up, thanks to the machines that the Gov put in every bar and the Casinos.

Mighty sporting of them to do that.

There is absolutely not one bar or lounge in our city that doesn't have a bank of machines. And they are full on any given evening.
I wonder what people did before the availability of all those machines.

I know a girl that received a 54 K inheritance from her father. All gone in the machines. I would like to believe if those machines weren't available, she may have done something more worth while with that money.

Don't tell me that those machines are put there for our enjoyment.

Do casinos sometimes skim too much? :)

I thought I would be reading about our girls on their road trip but ran across this post. Those casinos are NOT built on winners but losers. My Dad thought he had a system, after losing EVERYTHING, including my Mom on a trip to Vegas ( she left him and spent the next 16 years living there). My Step Dad said he had to work out a new system. After going broke many times, he went to his grave trying to figure out what went wrong. I know I got off track here but if you play in Vegas or Reno or where ever make sure you know what you're playing, the odds and good Lord have some common sense about you when it comes to gambling.

If you do win they kick you out.

Kind of like pool. If you win they don't play you anymore.

I got kicked out of a casino in Reno and the guy acted like he wanted to hurt me.

Then I was at another casino and I got cheated. Card Mechanic. They say this don't happen but it did. I caught them but there was nothing I could do about it except quit.

The only difference is you can do it for entertainment but the ones that think they can actually win are in for a big surprise.

Over and over. It's called going broke.

Plus it does mess up peoples lives.

Action

There is a great old school pool room in Odessa, TX called the golden cue. They have four or five 7ft diamond smart tables, one 9ft gold crown 3 and six oversized 8ft gold crowns. All tables have new simonis. The owner really takes care of the place. There's always action there too.

I am sure if you talk with some people there, ACTION is available. I hear they like to gamble down there. ;)

I don't consider casinos gambling. In my mind, gambling implies you have a chance to win. If you play any game at a casino long enough, you will lose. There are no systems that work over the long haul. You have some chance playing poker but when you look at the house rake, that is a clear loser as well.

When I play at a casino, I consider it entertainment and expect to lose. Therefore, I budget for it. I never lose more than I can easily afford to lose or what I think the entertainment value is worth. I find it sad and disgusting to watch people who clearly can't afford it pump money into a casino's pocket.

It speaks volumes to the corruption and integrity of our government that they feel they can dictate to a private business owner they must make their establishment non smoking then sponsor casinos where people can spend their welfare checks and others lose their life savings.

Well said.

You are a very intelligent man, I can tell because I agree with most of what you post on here:grin: but could not disagree more with what I highlighted in red. Governments (National. State and Local} that keep looking for more creative ways to raise revenue keep finding more creative ways to spend It. Call it feeding the pig.

played Brittany Bryant today races to 9 on the 9 foot diamonds with measle ball, she spotted me the wild 8 ball and beat me 9-5 then 9-3. I decided to quit after losing a couple hundred, I will try her again in a couple years when I improve.

Later that night I played in the 9 ball U.S. Bar table matches, won my first match 7-2 against Julie, then defeated Cindy Sliva hill hill, she played great pool, she won the womens 10 ball last night.

congrats on the wins last night. Glad to hear about the pool playing and not the government and such..........

I was a dealer for many year, I have never seen any of this happen. Could it, of course it could. Most reputable casinos will not cheat you, they have a big enough advantage already. The only thing that might happen is they decide they no longer want your action. The only real way of getting kicked out is getting caught counting cards. It is not illegal. But, the casino has the right to refuse your action at any time.
