2014 World 9-Ball Championship

Pool in the Arabic counties in general is a hobby, religion and culture prohibit gambling, so most of young new players have never been exposed to real pressure. All expenses of 95% of them if not all, Arab players are fully paid for, win or loose. There are great players, will wait couple more days, hope one or two qualify for 2nd stage.

You said that already! We believe you.

If it was a stretch for me to run 4 balls in rotation I'd probably think twice before entering the WPC, but it takes guts I'll give them that.

Some of these Arab players don't seem to hold up under pressure. Is there a reason for this? It's almost as if they look at pool as just a hobby?

So it looks like the 4 qualifiers from the "2nd Chance" Stage 1 event are:

Elvis Calasang, PHI-KUW
Vilmos Foldes, HUN
Elmer Haya, PHI-UAE
Denis Grabe, EST

Marc Vidal Claramunt must be playing well but a bit frustrated now. He lost in the semi-finals of his bracket in the "1st Chance" event and in the finals of his bracket in the "2nd Chance" event.

Good luck on your 3rd try, Marc!

I'm sure Marc Vidal is frustrated, but probably not as frustrated as Kiamco who lost in the finals in both rounds.

True, that. And Kiamco has won his first match in the 3rd round. Four wins to go. But his bad miss on the 5-ball while on the hill gives me pause.

Hey Black Balled. You wouldn't happen to be a member of The Lost Patrol?

Why would any American player go to Qatar? They have been funding terrorists for years that want to kill as many Americans as they can. They let them live in their country and admit they do so. I don't think much of any of the American players that went there. Johnnyt
