I miss playing pool for money

rHEa won?
Wow must be getting in stroke, I see a match against Karen Corr or Kelly Fisher right around the corner. Possibly a TAR match for the ages.

Or maybe a rematch with you where you aren't getting the 8 ball from Rhea when you could easily give the 7 out?

That table is tough, gotta hit 'em clean or they don't go. It plays decent, but as was previously stated, it's tight and a bit worn. It was set up as a one pocket table, primarily, hence the triple-shim.

Just curious - any chance of a rematch, maybe at a neutral location? Maybe The Break? Neither Jay nor Rhea ever play there - it's kind of in the middle for both of them (iirc). Similar conditions.

Thanks for the updates Brendan! I have to spread the rep around before giving back to ya.

Oh and considering pride-fest was this past weekend for the entire country, it's a little disturbing just how many people are so intolerant of alternate lifestyles. :(

Was that the only 9 footer in the place ???

Hmm. I can think of one guy in the St. Louis area who could play her. Rumor has it he has a pocket full of cash, too.

(who could that be..who could that be....)

On the off chance you are speaking of, moi, I don't believe Rhea plays 1pocket and it's been so long since I have played a single game of 9ball I'd have to take a ballpoint pen and write 1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9 on my bridge hand so I wouldn't get lost. (I don't even know if I own a break cue any more, I'd have to check the closet.)

Having said all that, I'd be happy to play cheap sets of 9ball with her. But it just seems to me that there are a good number of other guys in St. Louis who do play 9ball on a regular basis who could play her rather than an old 1pocket bunter like me.

At Kenny's, it is actually the only 9-footer. ;)

We have a lot places like that ... a bunch of barboxes and one big table. Some places have 3 or 5 9 footers, and only place has 15 of 'em, with only 1 barbox. :)

If I could just find action on a daily basis I would always have money even if I lost occasionally I still would have plenty of money if there was always action

If a frog had wings, he wouldn't bump his ass when he hopped.

Good set, good shooting, but if it's money you're after, there are better places to get it than on the pool table. (at least in the long run)

Pool players are supposed to be better at risk/reward analysis than this.

You just spent a year on the road and you don't have a clue.
Here's a million dollar tip for free , go get a job, you are not going to make it ever as a pool player .
I'm not a dream killer , there is no dream , you had a fantasy and it's time to move on . Good luck.

What this guy said. ^^^^

Once again, you prove that you aren't willing to listen to what people are saying to you.

Apparently there is tons of Action in St. Louis. Why haven't you picked up on it.

Unless, as par usual, you are asking for such a ridiculous Spot, people may as well just put their cues back in the case and had you their Bank Roll.

Hey, word on the street is that you're a pretty decent player. You're just not Road capable and probably never will be unless you are willing to change your ways.

History shows how you take others advice so I'm betting on you will never amount to a hill of Beans on the Road.

Starting at approx 8 years of age, I wanted to be a pilot.

It never worked out but I'm still living.

I believe that Its Froze pegged it 100%. Its not pool you miss, its the money. The gambling. If you have a love for the game as much as you say you do, money, gambling would have nothing to do with it. You be out there at some pool hall grinding away trying to improve.

Gene obviously saw something in you, but like I said, he just wasted his time and money.

somebody on here should offer to play rhea and she puts up nothing but can win $100! if she loses she has to get "a goal without a plan is just a wish" as her next tattoo on her forehead

your 1st post after the match 2 days ago is this?

it would be prudent of you, to publically post "thanks", to

CHICAGORJ
NINEBALLSAFETY8
BMSCLAYTON
ONEPOCKETJOHN
and whomever gave you a ride
plus the pool hall

without them, you wouldn't be $75 up.

Wtf????

Jesus Christ, I can't believe there has been 24 pages of this BS. How can you be so delusional? There is action in STL, I guess not for nits betting 5 bucks or one set for 75. Five years ago the Break was the best action spot in the country. But if you truly want guaranteed action every single day and think you will have plenty of money, do as rj says and go to Chicago. All the action you could ever want is at Chris's or Red Shoes. Guaranteed. Every day. Hell,
I'll buy you a bus ticket to get there. But you will have to make other arrrangements to get back home after your 75 bucks lasts you a half an hour and get sent home broke. It will be worth it to see you get the reality check you need so badly.

I don't know how much my opinion matters at this point... but I think I have a very good suggestion.

Rhea, why not have the best of both worlds... Have you ever thought about getting a job AT THE POOLHALL?

Even if its doing dishes, barback, waitress, working the counter, cleaning toilets... whatever.
This allows you a KNOWN income, and most places that have workers, allow them to play for free whenever not on the clock.

That way you are making money without the hustle, and have unlimited access to whatever action might walk through the door.

I would advise though, to only ever play with half of what is in your pocket... AT MOST

it is 6:30PST - are you just rolling in from the casino?

I was in yesterday but playing catch-up at work so not much time to post/read on any drama updates. Vegas was fun (especially after my small WSOP cash), but one week was enough for me so it is good to be back.

I'd be willing to try Rhea some barbox 8 ball or banks. If you stroll into Des Moines send me a PM and we can play some small sets.

Jay are you kidding that would make too much sense!

I wish I wouldn't have been working when you played her, I would have drove 2hrs to sweat the match and steak you in another set, or played her myself too.

Yeah, there were several people that were somewhat local that wanted to go and were unable to.
