JB's AZB

What, does John Barton own a piece of AZB too? Enough of this crap. It's really getting very old. Johnnyt

I am sorry is there someone standing over you forcing you to click on certain threads?

I am just wondering because I don't have that issue. The Guns and Pool thread has 633 replies and 19,000 views and I was only there once very early on. I haven't looked at it in months and yet it's on the front page constantly. I don't see people getting all crazy about those threads.

You might want to try and fix whatever compels you to open threads you don't like instead of scrolling past them.

Actually, this got me thinking. and for the record I want a bonus and or cue related materials. AZBilliards should not let incorporated, licensed LLC or any other form of business related to pool freely advertise their merchandise here. And that includes and is not limited to cue makers, case makers or any billiard related business. Its a forum for the consumer/player, not an advertising agency. how do you think facebook, twitter and even google make their money?? the consumer, in their case the retarded people posting selfies and moronic comments log on, and the companies pay for them to see their product in various advertising, PR and cross promotional tactics. as I type this I see a USAPL advertisement, why don't they just create an account and start bombarding threads?? instead of paying for an adv.? what separates them from john barton? for the record I have a custom rugged and several cues, im not trying to disrespect anyone, just wondering what the mentality/philosophy of AZB is.

wanted to add that I've seen people like Royce Bunnell have an account and also advertise here. so that's fine, I don't see OB showing off their cues in the cue gallery, you can be a member and be a respectable businessman.

I use this forum for marketing and for personal reasons. I have always felt that a forum is a perfect place for the business owner to stay in touch with the consumer base. Sure sometimes that means fading nonsense and trolls.

The overriding goal for AZB is in my opinion to provide a place for fairly open discussion AND to get lots of pageviews. Thus good spirited discussion often serves both purposes.

Some business folks are very low key and others like me are very outspoken. My colleagues in the industry actually laugh at me and ask why I bother responding to trolls and idiots. Some of them though have said thank you to me for standing up and saying the things that they feel they can't say to this crowd. I tell them that I am speaking to a larger audience than just the relatively few who post.

I am speaking to the ones who lurk and read and who come to me at shows telling me they are impressed that I speak my mind. I have traveled the world and this year traveled America and I can tell you that hundreds of people have come up and shaken my hand because of things I have said on AZB.

So I don't speak for the few, I speak to the larger majority who do get it.

That's the site owner and moderator's decision I would think. I personally have no issue with guys like JB posting as well as cue makers. Sometimes you have to sift through a bucket of coal to find the diamond but it generally seems to be worth it.

Once again, there is the ignore function for those posters who bother you. I have several on ignore, it works wonders in improving the site experience.

If John Barton hadn't blown all his money playing Lou Figueroa, He would have money for real advertising.

Maybe...on the other hand maybe saving all the money by not spending it on "real" advertising is what allowed me to spend $10,000 marketing a pool match where I had a chance to double my money. Seems I got the thrill AND the marketing.

You got to watch me play for 10k.

You leave that thread alone - its got the whole raft of crazy meatheads who can't play, all in one place. Its a public service. Now all we need is one thread for all the shillmeisters to hang out in, and we're good to go.

Start one called 'l, Barton. We Need To Talk About John'.

I'm on nobby's ignore list, morning, noon and night. He rarely stops ignoring me. In fact, ignoring me is one of the few things he's actually quite good at.

Lol.

Let me repeat.

Lol.

And once more...

Lol

Ps

Lol.

You call that playing chicken wing?

you post non stop and most of it is non stop bs .... why does your opinion matter more then any one else. Go play pool instead of staring at the forum all day.

I've put a few people on my ignore list, but it doesn't really "ignore" them. I still see JohnnyT's pointless threads pop up and JB gets quoted everytime he posts, so I've since turned the ignore feature off and just skip over stupid posts.

But this thread... This one makes me laugh.

Hours of fun in six-part harmony: http://www.ustream.tv/channel/sandcastle-billiards

Here are some clips from the highlight reel.

John insisted that the match be streamed and recorded so my defeat, by an aiming system proponent, would be forever seared into my brain. (Paid for it out of his own pocket too.)

Lou Figueroa
Lou wins 9-6 :-)
And you refused to play again when given the opportunity. I would have paid to stream that as well. Do you need a picture of the bag of money to remind you?

Those pics simply never get old. I have a new favourite literally every time I see them. There's a few where I think the table has tired of his yap and bad play, and buggered off for a rest. In others, the phrase 'its the hope that kills you' has never been more apt.
