Mark Wilson: Genius Or Nincompoop?

I tell u what cleary I got 3000 that says you won play him in a race to 21 and he give you a game spot??? And If you want to be more just le me know my account is open. Honestly his track record in tournaments speaks for itself. Im not gonna knock anyone select but he can play with anyone on the list in a tournament format. and if you ask a bunch of them if they love the game playing even with him only a few will raise their hands. Bottom line Jeremy has lots of class great player and would represent the country as goodas anyone. Pm me if you want to gamble with him

You guys are totally right. What was I thinking? If he can spot a C player in a race to 21, he's clearly one of the greatest on earth. Thanks for putting things into perspective for me. It's very clear now.

SMH. Some real bright ones around these parts...

I don't think Cleary was barking up a match for himself - I just think he was sharing that he knew Bartram at one time said he'd come to CT to play Jeremy some $5k 10 ball.

but you never know, Andrew might jump into the grease, too.

I think I made my point about how I feel that Jeremy was not picked to play for Team USA.

Now it's def time to rally around the boys who will be representing us in Blackpool.

best of luck to these guys and even though it's gonna be an uphill battle for sure, there is always a chance to pull an upset.

And I really want to see John win better than 50%. Close to 100% would be nice. :grin-square:

Go USA!

best,
brian kc

lol Brian I stated my opinion that Jeremy is on the level of about 30 others. No better and only worse than a few and the whole north east gets butt hurt and wants to play me. lol amazing.

Btw, Phil said most on the list I made could get played in CT, Bartram responded (on this forum) today. if any of you guys would like to help Jeremy out, back him and Chris is on his way. He's in ny now and it won't take long.

Time out Cleary. A quick question, Did JS knock over OB cues or Fury cues. Thanks.

Carry on.

I don't remeber who the maker was. I saw it but I don't remeber what brand.

That said I don't think that's normal behavior for John and I'm sure his day to day life, he's a great guy.

I don't know Mark Wilson but he's clearly been very evasive on this subject imo and it seems to me he has his own agenda

not good

could have been so easy to have decided this via tourney with all conditions set forth well in advance

I don't know Mark either, and IMO Jeremy would have been a fine choice who I'm confident would play his heart out. But didn't Mark talk about forming a team that he felt would bond and click together beyond individual playing ability? I'm sure he mentioned more to team play than just raw talent. Not saying that's a good philosophy, just saying maybe that's where he was coming from with the choice.

Maybe he felt John was the kind of player that would help do that for the team. An outgoing, lighthearted, kidder kind of guy who could loosen up the players a little. Make them feel more at ease perhaps? Keep the oil in the old stroke? I don't know, I'm just assuming that could have motivated his thoughts.

I mean from a purely 9 ball playing ability, it's hard to discount Jeremy or a lot of other players for John, but it did seem Mark had other ideas of the importance of how a team clicked together beyond purely playing ability. If he felt John was a relaxing influence, and he's right, that might have more impact on how well motivated the team will be and how well they will perform under the pressure.

If someone knew Mark they would not question is decision,, motive or if he was a nincompoop. Mark is one of, if not thee most honorable name in pool, let alone one of the most knowledgable and respected in the game.

Debate the picks, sure, but if you knew Mark you would not debate his knowledge, sincerity or judgement.

Oh one more thing... There is more to it than just winning, especially this year for the MC. I kept my mouth shut on the Johnny Archer thread, and will continue to do so. I will be a good boy but ya'll don't know all the deets. so stop acting like ya do.

wrong attribution.

Backwords barking? wtf are you talking about? I told it how it is and you wanna puff out your chest and play me. lol my playing skills are not and should not be in question. I Have no dreams of playing in the cup.

Someday I hope to be a mediocre shortstop like yourself Ken but for know, I'm ok with being a banger.
Backward Barking?
I didn't even know you were referring to Chris B.
It was your story..
Chris is a good guy. He doesn't need your help Barking..
If your a C player maybe you should let the big boys take care of their own action.

I haven't played a lick in years. "Mediocre Shortstop" I appreciate the compliment.

I'm by no means a doctor but I'm fairly certain you've got some sort of mental handicap. At best, you're just stupid but it's very possible you've got some sort of mental handicap. If you haven't already, I'd get the checked out by a professional.

No archer..no strickland...no interest. This is why we get our ass kicked in this event and will again.

Weren't they at the last Mosconi Cup we lost 11-2?. Are you saying we'll lose this one 11-0?. Our what is your point?

The definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over again while expecting a different result. The only nincompoop thing Mark Wilson could have done was take the same ole, same ole.

While I love the internet and I think everyone should have the right to express their own opinion, I think it is a shitty thing to call Mark a nincompoop Brian. Last year was a joke and we had supposedly the best USA has to offer. Mark is doing what he thinks is right and I respect his opinion. I'm sure he is doing what he feels is best for us and all you guys want to do is criticize and call him names. Ridiculous. I'm sure that if we win you will all be on here talking about how you were behind him all the way. If he would have played Sossei, the same people would have been *****ing about having three rookies. AZBilliards need to come with a prescription of Midol because some of you whine incessantly. I will be supporting the team.

You obviously don't know me.
You have a big mouth.

Yes, why would one even consider Archer, who is 3-1 in singles over the past two Mosconi Cups? Better to take Van Boening, who is 1-3 in singles over the last two. Obviously, Shane is the better pick, but to suggest that the omission of Archer is a no brainer is, to me, a bit silly.

I don't know you. I don't care to. I don't go to your pool room and don't plan on it. You just don't seem to read very well. I didn't bark for anyone. I stated a fact that today Jeremy was called out by both Oscar and Bartram to play. He didn't want any of them and I can tell you why... He has less than 50% chance of winning either and nobody will back him because of that. But what do I know, I dont play your speed so I know nothing...

My team would beat your team Cleary. I'd take Svb, Earl, Berg, Dechaine, Donny. Stealin son, and myself as El Cap i tan

Bro, you can play , you have a good hand bridge in your picture.
