It is up to each man to work out his own salvation.
Just my spin on this Peyton Place episode:
"IF" I committed to going with the USA Mosconi Cup Team regardless of whether I was picked to play, I would go even though I would be reluctant to do so for various reasons.
I know at least one USA Mosconi Cup player who truly believes that they can win and wouldn't be surprised if all of them believe they can get the job done.
Schmidt gets a lot of flack and sometimes for valid reasons but it is my opinion that he has
enormous talent and if he practices like he wants to win, he could easily have the best record of all his team mates. His record in this past year on the pool table hasn't been stellar for sure.
I won't hang Sossei, Shuff and Dominguez in effigy like some are want to and understand that each of them has to make their own decisions. However with their decisions, comes the criticism that they must endure. Most likely, like many of us, the non-players of the USA Mosconi Cup team didn't consider all of the ramifications of deciding that they wouldn't attend this epic and possibly pivotal event.
The team concept especially in pool, is alien to most American players but Mark's idea of building a team is a good one but it may take a while for it to gel.
In the meantime, I am confident that much has been learned by all and better decisions and better communication will be the order of the day.
As to Mark Wilson answering to this kangaroo court, I can barely hold back a large belly laugh.
In the meantime, Go USA!

P.S. Kudos to Ray Hansen of PoolActionTV.com for going to Missouri to livestream some of the preparations of the USA Mosconi Cup Team.
