What city has the best weekly tourneys ?

Appleton, Wisconsin at KKs.
Beloit, Wisconsin at the Carom Room.
Milwaukee, Wisconsin at Romines High Pockets.

I'm most familiar with KKs but the turnouts were huge, weekly break pot, and money added based on number of players. Awesome tournaments 2-3 times a week.

You'd probably need to better define "weekly tournaments"
Are you talking about calcutta, races to 1 on a bar table, cities with multiple tournaments in one night.

$5 or $40 tournaments, etc.

Somewhere where a good player can grind out ok money every week .

Chicago area tourneys are really starting to grow, from nice tourney in Joliet, to Pyramid in Addison, to Sundown Inn in Glendale Hts, to Rudy's in Aurora, to Q's in Plano area, and of course, the higher dollar events at Red Shoes.

I"m sure I missed more than a few, like Chris' and a few places up north. And a very short drive to Beloit for a HUGE Calcutta tourneys in various events.

Before you move anywhere I'd find out if all the weekly and monthly tournaments will let you play. If they say yes, count on most of them to change their mind if you snap off 2 or more in a row. Johnnyt

Another issue is how do they treat "outsiders".

Steinway's Monday night tournament. Handicapped, anyone can play. With Calcutta first can get up to $1000ish

Nyc

Yo Wisconsin, I'm really happy for you, I'ma let you finish, but NYC has the best weekly tournaments of all time.

I resemble that remark........

Stay away from Wisconsin and Minnesota then, Gene will slash your tires at every tournament if you try to cut in on his living up there.

I think Rodney Dangerfield made that phrase famous...

I'm giving Wisconsin a break. Trying to venture out and play in some out of state tournaments again. Still healing from my surgeries so it's tough to travel but I can still hang pretty good.

Moved to Minneapolis, Twin Cities area and I'm playing in as many weekly stuff as can and giving about 5 lessons a week. Sure is fun.

Nice to hear from you Mr Steve. Enjoy the holiday everyone....

Also the highest cost of living and expenses.

I'm guessing that he needs to be somewhere in the Midwest.
It's a shame, Franklin and Delaware County area used to have something every night and several on weekends.

If you come to New England there is Snooker's in Providence, RI.

Every Wednesday. Usually 50 or more sign up.

Kansas City area isn't bad, you can find tournaments every night of the week and couple on the weekends. There are excellent once a month tournaments at different locations every Friday that add around 300 per event. There is a rated tour that is handicapped held once or twice a month that Doug Patrick runs.

I'm thinking about doing a big table series of 9ball, 10ball, 8ball, one pocket, straight pool, and banks this winter over a period of six months. A new place on the Kansas Side just opened and they are running a couple of weekly tournaments, I'm going to try to check it out tonight and play in the 8 ball.

One of the best bar table tournaments in the country, the Midwest 9 ball at Shooters in Olathe is held 3 times a year.

Might as well come to Houston. I run the thursday 9 ball at Big Tyme Billiards. $10 entry $100 added. Usually draws 32. $200+ breakpot. There is also a one pocket tournament on fridays and a 10 ball on sundays. Thats just Big Tymes though, so there is of course more going on in other parts of town. Plus I'm sure we can get you into some action :D

Edit: None of our tournaments are handicapped and there are two bar table mini tourney's on saturdays. We don't bar anyone based on how they play.
