After reading a thread on here that turned into a mudslinging contest that lacked much legitimate knowledge, I realized that there were people on here whose posts I almost never like to read, but that there are also those whose posts are filled with positive, insightful info that is always legitimate well thought out info. Since I would rather focus on the positive, I thought I would start a thread giving props to those who make this a better, more informative place. I will start with three, and leave it up to you guys to fill in the rest.

Tate
Dr. Dave
Renfro

I always find the info from these guys to be reliable good stuff, and I generally really enjoy their contributions.

Actually I owe most of the forum an apology... I have been on a semi break because I was getting short tempered with a few individuals and it was spilling over into other threads...

I have tried of late to approach the forums with a little more detachment...

I was posting on many topics before Outsville went from a hobby to a business but some of the members don't go that far back so I can see where they question my motives...

My motives are to share some of the things I have gathered over the years and to educate so people know what they are buying regardless of who they buy from... I will even happily give my opinions on what products may suit a player better if they find ours to not fit....

After playing this game for almost 35 years and being around the players and Industry, I can tell you no one is getting rich.. Outsville is more about creating a brand you can trust and changing some ideas than making money... I have been drawn to pool since I ran my first 8ball rack when I was 10... I think getting to be involved in the sport on a day to day basis is worth a pay cut.. Most days at least =)

I am so honored to be on your list! Lately I feel like I'm firing more blanks than bullets, so this is uplifting. I just don't know where my heart is these days - don't know if it's in pool anymore. I just played in a tournament this weekend and played really bad. I just couldn't muster the desire to practice at all.

I am a big fan of a lot of posters - far too many to name. What bothers me is all the really great members here who seem to have drifted off.

Thanks again, Mantis 99 - much appreciated!

I know what you mean. Some just stop and never return, it leaves me fearing the worst for them. You have been one of the greats here and I hope you and many others that are on the edge dont give it up completely.

Like you said Tate there are many here that are a big reason that I read this board daily some may lay low at times but resurface now and then.

there are now and have always been some very informed and intelligent posters here at AZ. Unofortunately, there are also more than a few negative trolls. But because this minority is often louder and sometimes shocking in their ignorance, they garner the lions share of the attention. On more than 1 occasion it has been these folks who have driven away and encouraged other pro's not to participate here. Shame really.

Still, it's great to know that there are some advanced players, honorable cue makers, tournament promoters and industry insiders who regularly participate. At the end of the day, AZ is unequivocally THE pool forum, in the world. Although I too have taken extended breaks away from here, there isn't another comparable forum worth investing any energy into.

There are many great members here, but I have a lot of respect for SJM, Jay and Mark Griffen, fwiw.

You'd be hard pressed to find two more reliable people on any forum than jayhelfert or sjm.

I love this site. Nothing could drive me away as nobody here really affects my personal life. I appreciate the good posts and tolerate the bad.

Thank you, Wedge. I feel the exact same about you. This forum used to rock and roll at one time. I hope those who continue to post here enjoy it as much as I used to. There are some good pool peeps who are members on AzBilliards, e.g., players of all caliber, industry members, instructional book authors, pool book authors, pro players. railbirds, stakehorses, action men, and live streamers. :)
